  1. LMAO i cant imagine us going round the con with The FBoN Tshirts now! OME, can we? I'd totally do it! And we can have a bubble floating above FBoN!
  2. *dies laughing* That was wonderful! I hadn't even though of the repercussions of being ice cold and trying to use an iPod touch! Poor Emmett...I don't imagine he'd be too pleased with being beat by a tiny little rectangle of wires and electricity. And just so you know, I'm still giggling, so job accomplished! Your writing is just as good as everyone else who entered, and you're very creative. Don't doubt yourself!
  3. I must've been completely delirious last night! I just looked it up again and got the same thing as you guys. Not entirely sure what I put in for directions, but I'll just get a taxi. I can't be bothered walking at half five in the morning, to be honest! Thanks for the help, lovelies!
  4. *dies laughing* Well there you have it folks, an incentive to be creative. Otherwise, we'll forever be known as the floating blobs of namelessness!
  5. *headdesk* Duh, you wrote that like...three posts before? Ignore me and my stupidity. It's sleep deprivation, I swear! *looks at clock and sighs* Well that's cool; a friend of mine is at uni in Newcastle, but she can't come to the convention. We're all really sad! Our Twilight group is like split in half because not everyone can go because of uni schedules and such. I really want to go to Newcastle though! I've heard it's a cool city.
  6. Ohh im studying for a Journalism degree too =] What year are you in? I'm in 2nd year. Which uni are you at and what year? Do you specialise in written or broadcast journalism? i actually love this haha *dies laughing* I completely forgot I wrote that. But hey, if the shoe fits...
  7. That was absolutely brilliantly written. Your writing is so eloquent, so passionate. When I read, I didn't feel like I was reading your interpretation of Jasper's experience...it was like peering into his soul. Have you got any other stories you might be willing to share? This one was just incredible!
  8. What is it with trains in Northampton? And there aren't any busses out of their either! Train fare is going to be the death of me. *le sigh* Where are you coming from again Jazz?
  9. Park Inn. I just checked it, and it says it's 3 minutes walking time away. Not too bad. I figure I can roll out of bed, throw some makeup on, put my hair up, and run. It's just actually waking up that worries me. Knowing me, I'll stay up all night packing everything away, fall asleep on the train, miss my stop, end up in Scotland, and totally miss my seminar...the ending up in Scotland being the upside to this scenario! But I want to be there for the last party, and I'll just get some coffee...right, better than rambling on here, I think speaking to the people I'm coming with would be a beneficial thing for everyone (as in I take up half as much board space). And just to attempt at keeping on topic...I squee everyday when I go on myspace and see that no photos of Robert at Heathrow have been added to this Twilight profile I watch. In my mind, there will always be hope...until he goes back to LA, and even then, I'm not giving up that easily!
  10. Railcards are the way forward. They've saved me so much money! Sadly, no savings before 10AM, which sucks but O well. Ugh, now I'm really undecided about this ticket. It's for 5:42AM and costs the same as leaving at 7:25 the night before. Does anybody know how close the train station is to the hotel?
  11. My homecoming dress is floor length but it's wine coloured. I'm going to buy a cocktail dress though. It's easier to dance in and easier to transport.
  12. I haven't even booked my train tickets yet! GAH!!! Got to wait for my loans to come in. The last train home on Sunday night is at like 7:15 though, which sucks. No final party! And the earliest one on Monday is at 5:42 for £37! Who on earth would be traveling from Northampton to Leeds at 6AM? Hmmm, yet the one the night before at 7:25 doesn't even get in until 1AM. Might as well have fun the night before, be up for the 6AM one, and just go straight to my lecture, suitcase and all! That wouldn't look awkward in the least. Yes, this could work. It's the same price, afterall. Ok, I'm going to do that. Does anybody know why it's so expensive to get to Northampton?
  13. Depending on the time frame they're working with, it could legitimately be a 15. I mean, as the years go by, the fanbase gets older. Sure, there'll be some new fans as the films come out, but it's like in Harry Potter. The characters get older, more dangerous stuff happens, and the fanbase grows older and more mature with them. This is on a much smaller scale for Twilight though, given the books weren't insanely popular before the film came out. Which is sad. Anyway, I'm rambling, so my point is we could get away with a 15 by the time BD comes out. But definitely not 18. They'd have to put out a grown up version and a "younger people's" version if they wanted to get an 18, which they'd never do.
  14. Nope, we just find it really funny! Hmm, so have there been any name change suggestions? We've got to have some sort of catchy name. Right now, we're just sort of the floating blob of namelessness.
  15. Yup yup! I think I need to clarify something too. When I say they can't make BD, I don't mean they don't have the tools to. Hollywood obviously has the tools to make BD come to life. The issue I have is whether or not it should come to life. To be quite honest, I have no desire to see the man that came up with such poetry as chapter 23 of New Moon, page 514 eat his way through his true love's stomach and bite her at all her major blood points, amongst other things. The image in my head is like a disturbing cult sacrifice crime scene out of CSI...and CSI scares the crap out of me! :|
  16. These things are bright, fluorescent yellow, the kind that blinds, and across the back it says something like "camera" or "reporter" or something. The uni doesn't say it's anything to do with Chelsy, but we all know it is. Nobody else is all that bothered about being on camera. Who knows, maybe she isn't either? We've never gone up to her and asked her, haha!
  17. Let's hope so! Because they've made us wear these ridiculous fluorescent vests when we're filming on campus, just in case she's around and wants to avoid the cameras. Seriously, nobody cares! We probably wouldn't notice her anyway!
  18. If I'm being completely honest...I skimmed the birth scene. I really don't remember anything more than it was gorey and hey look, there's Renestard! I couldn't imagine Summit making it into a film...but then again, you know how Hollywood likes to milk things for every bit of money they can make. Twilight is an enormous franchise. I could see them going ahead with BD just to squeeze the last bit of Twi-hard enthusiasm out. I sincerely hope they just end Eclipse with a wedding and forget Renestard ever happened. The show down at the end is so anti-climactic that you wouldn't really miss hearing about it anyway. Bella and Edward get married, and she becomes a vampire. The Volturri are happy, the Cullens are happy, Jacob isn't happy (but I don't really care!), and the Twi-hards are happy. And then we have world peace!
  19. hahah thanks. umm well the big story where this "short story" came from is about 12pages long... so in effect, its not really a short story as such. i just condensed it to have a so-so decent ending. i know its a cliff hanger. altho, i hadnt even got to the ending of my big fanfic... at least now i have a heading for an ending hahahhaa I don't know if this is good or bad, but it didn't feel like a cliff hanger to me. That's part of why I liked it. I was content that the piece could end and I wouldn't stay up all night wondering what happened next. It was like peaking into a day in the life of E&B. Those, to me, are the best kind of stories. :)
  20. I've just realised that I can't go to the 1901 party because I've got a lecture at 10AM on Monday with my admissions tutor, so skipping is sort of not an option. About the Prom...I've got a long dress I wore for homecoming a few years ago. It's very formal, but I'm concerned that a) it's too formal and it's too long! Any thoughts? Should I or shouldn't I? *le sigh* I think I'll just buy a new dress. Yeah, good idea.
  21. At first I thought it was New Moon, but it's Breaking Dawn! Like you (I think), I suspect Leah liked Jacob just a bit more than she let on. I'm majorly against Jacob/Renestard because it just...gah, I won't go into the rant. Anyway, loved this because to me, it's partly how it should have turned out. A mix of truth (he loved her, she loved him) with the consequences of reality (she was alone, and she finally gave up trying to be ok with it). Really beautiful writing, and I liked how you laid it out. Leah seemed a bit more romantic than I've always thought of her, but I'm a hopeless romantic, so that suited me just fine as a reader! Great job!
  22. The link won't work for me... Me either. Which is why I'm totally excited for the link to work! Amazon has built up the anticipation for me, haha!
  23. I love the idea of this story! It's heartwarming. I mean, after so many years, the Cullens get to have Thanksgiving with a human, eating all the turkey and things...I can imagine they went WAY overboard with the amount of food they made too, just as it should be, haha! I wonder what decorations Alice was putting up? My Mum always just put fall decor up, except when my little sister and I were in elementary school and brought back silly "art" projects like turkeys made out of handprints or pilgrim hats. Aww, now I kind of miss Thanksgiving! You made me nostalgic, Edwardsbackupgirl! :) Great job! It didn't feel like a short story. It had just the right pace to make things run smoothly.
  24. Have you got a regular old DVD player? If so, many DVD players can be reprogrammed very easily to be region free. If you give me the make of your DVD player, I can find out if there's a way? I made the DVD in my old common room in halls region free, which probably would have really annoyed the hall staff if they knew, hehe! Ok, would it sound really bad to say that I NEED both the Borders Exclusive and the Hot Topic special editions? Because I do. Hiya There is nothing bad about that at all. I'll probably be following you My DVD is an old-ish one - it's a Hitachi DVD/VCR combo (I've got to be able to watch my old Disney videos!) DV-PF4E(UK). Any advice you could give me would be great. Cheers Lou. Unfortunately I've looked all over the internet, and there doesn't appear to be any sort of unlocking code. Most newer DVD players can be unlocked by using your remote and entering some codes and stuff, but not this one (as of yet). Sorry hun, I tried!! My suggestion would be to find a cheap DVD player and search to see if there's an unlocking code before you buy it. If there is, it's helpful to have for those foreign films you may collect over the years. I don't mind helping you find one if you'd like. Like I said though, it's pretty common now to just look up codes online to change the region because people are generally irritated that someone else gets to dictate when and where they watch films. Power to the people, haha!
