I don't think it's anything to be concerned about. They're both likely to be quite small events and it won't be the first time that two events have been run on the same weekend. Although it's not something to be concened about, it is a shame if like me you would have wanted to go to both events.

My favourite book when I was a child was 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', closely followed by 'The Hobbit'. My favourite Terry Pratchett book was 'Mort', though it's so long since I read it that I can't really remember why I liked it so much. My favourite book now is probably 'The Lord of the Rings'.

Recently read 'Total Forgiveness' by R.T. Kendall, currently reading the follow-up 'Totally Forgiving Ourselves'.

The Power of the Daleks

I was saddened to hear via the Star Trek Facebook page that Lance has died. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a Showmasters event and he seemed so full of life, really enthusiastic and friendly. My thoughts are with his family.

When is Lords of Time 2 due to take place?

My reaction was the absolute opposite. I was really looking forward to the episode, but I couldn't help feeling it was like the emperor's new clothes - it's had a good reaction with various friends of mine, but to me it seemed like lots of set pieces randomly strung together. All style and no substance. I really liked Nefertiti and hope we'll see her again in a future episode, but aside from that it wasn't really my thing. Also, I had the same reservation about the ending as I had when the Doctor kills the Sycorax and when he orders mankind to wipe out the Silence. With the exception of the Daleks, I don't think the Doctor should act as judge, jury and executioner.

Really happy to see that Christopher is coming back as I couldn't make it last time.

I've been hoping to meet him for a long time, can't wait to get my Deep Space Nine card signed!

I was thinking about this, and if Showmasters were able to do a The Avengers 50th Anniversary John Steed autograph card signed by Patrick MacNee I would be very interested. It would look great alongside the other cards that were produced!

I now have the Diana Rigg autograph card - I picked one up at the Comic Mart yesterday thanks to my friends at Dereks Trading Cards. I'm still interested in an unsigned card.

Asylum of the Daleks. I think I'm going to continue my rewatch even though the new series has started, so next up it's Power of the Daleks.

I've checked with a couple of the dealers who I am friends with on Facebook and they say it's going ahead tomorrow.

Out of interest, do Showmasters still have any of the Diana Rigg autograph cards from last year's show? I met so many guests that I couldn't afford to buy one at the time, but I would like to get one to go with the dealer cards and the free cards which I was able to obtain.

Great to see an Olympian announced, and a gold medallist no less! Hoping this is the first of many.

Awesome! I got Star Wars items signed by him last time, but I've been hoping he'd return so I can get Doctor Who items signed.

I saw him on TV about 30 minutes ago and was trying to remember why I recognised him!

Now finished The Smugglers; just Tenth Planet to go.

I'd love to go to this event, but given that I've already met David and there's the additional expense of train fares, hotel room, etc, at the moment it looks like I'll be giving it a miss. (Of course if a rare guest like Catherine Tate or Billie Piper were to be added to the guest list I would book it up straight away!)
