  1. My suspicion is that it would be VERY difficult to adminster Slipps (or any other) approach that stopped people buying 'extra' tickets. Nonetheless, it could lead to problems, because in a way by buying the first ticket online you are effectively guaranteeing your place in the queue...
  2. No, I think that's a REALLY good question! From the first page in Showmasters' second post: you will be able to pre buy your autographs now on the on line shop and turn up knowing that you will get your autograph on the day pre sold autographs will also be limited in the shop as we will have autographs for sale on the day of the show as well. Michelle The point was, if I rock up on the Saturday with one pre-paid ticket, and join via the pre-paid queue (whatever that is), can I then think "do you know what, actually I might buy another one", and buy that in cash, WITHOUT having to queue again?
  3. I don't want to specifically pick on you, but how much did she think Ryan was going to be? I'm sorry if this sounds mean (it's not intended to be), but is money so tight that she can't find an extra £10 for an event that's six months away? If there's a surprise it's that the American guests don't all push their price up - the exchange rate is very different than it was. I think this is a realistic price for Ryan, and bottom line if it wasn't worth her while she wouldn't come over - in which case we'd be in the same boat anyway. I tend to think pushing the prices up is the only realistic way some of these 'next tier up' guests will ever come over. Don't forget Jeri has been successful on a variety of shows since Voyager - she's definitely a top tier guest for SM.
  4. Awesome announcement! Thanks Jason - presale tickets bought. Also, I think the presale of autograph tickets is a great idea - more of that please.
  5. Excellent - have wanted her to come back for a while, since I wanted a better picture -maybe this one :-
  6. Lovely - have been wanting to meet her for a long, long time! Second Marc Singer - met him last time, but would be very much up for meeting him again.
  7. I have to say LFACC this year was a strong turn-off. I had my four year old with me, and we literally could not move. It wasn't a pleasant experience. I expect this even to be precisely the same, so I can't see myself bringing her again - which is a shame. I don't care about any of the other issues - she knows how to be quiet in talks, etc, etc. But the fact that it was like rush hour on the central line was no good. We'll have to see - the only guest I want to meet is Sean Patrick Flanery this year, so I might just head down on my own.
  8. PMSL !!! That just proves that ANY guest announcement will be met with calls for related guests. Don't even go there. I'd be buying a platinum pass for that one. Anyway, with Jane Wiedlin there, I reckon there'll be a bit of a 'rush hour'.... see what I did there?
  9. Did not enjoy this one at all. For a couple of reasons I didn't have an advance ticket, so 90 minutes queuing, in order to push my way through the hall and find out I had absolutely no chance of meeting anyone (I wasn't there to meet Karen Gillan). My mental note for next time is to either get a gold pass, or don't bother. No point whatsoever in getting a normal ticket, unless you're of a mind to sleep outside the night before (which I am not).
  10. EXCELLENT guest. I will be sourcing a Highlander poster. Thanks Jason!
  11. As I've often said over the years, in general I'm quite comfortable with paying more to meet bigger guests. In this case, I'd pay a fair amount to meet Christopher Lambert, or Stan Lee, for example. Put these people out Jason, and I guarantee you people will come! As for Christopher Lee... He looked *very* frail at the BAFTAs. Take a look on youtube - very sad. I suspect that Peter Jackson will be nailing down Lee's performance for the Hobbit VERY early in the process - he will not be with us for too much longer.
  12. I met Erin last time in Milton Keynes, but will definitely meet her again - lovely woman. Now what to sign....
  13. I dropped in on Saturday with the intention of just meeting Robert Englund and Peter Davison (but of a quiet event for me in terms of guests). Sadly the Peter Davison reschedule meant I'll have to wait until next time to meet him, but Robert Englund was great, definitely well worth the wait. More V guests please! In the meantime, I'll look forward to LFACC... lots of guests on the list for me there
  14. Guys - basically the situation is that a friend is mine is curating a six month exhibit of science fiction toys at a rather prestigious museum in central London. I was asked if I could lend anything from a set of requirements to the exhibition, but to be honest I don't really collect toys... but I know a lot of the guys on here do. Now I can't say which establishment it is publicly, but suffice to say it doesn't get any more prestigious (no hyperbole either). Those lending stock will NOT be paid (strict policy), but they will be credited. Entry, as with all museums, is free. So to reiterate, it's NOT a rival event, it's literally a museum exhibit themed around science fiction from 1950 or so onward, and it runs throughout the year. And I'm told inert objects are 'preferred' So, with all that said, the first thing I thought about is posting here... and mods, it's over to you as to whether you think it's ok. If you think it is, I will post more info, the sort of items they are hoping for, and how people can get straight in touch with the curator. If not, it's cool, I do understand. Best, Mike
  15. For me, the top number one choice would be musicians - specifically Rock musicians!
  16. I'm definitely going to put my Back To The Future error right! Total for me right now is just three though so far: - Christopher Lloyd - BTTF Lea Thompson - BTTF Sandahl Bergman - Conan The Barbarian
  17. Does anyone have any idea where I could get this picture without the annoying "Conan The Barbarian" on the top left? I'm going to end up photoshopping it at this rate! :)
  18. Seriously, I don't mean to be harsh, but be sensible. Michael J Fox is *NEVER* going to do a signing event - it will just not happen. It's not a question of money. My suggestion is to treat it something like Terminator. Arnie is never going to do a signing event - never. But you can get most of the rest of the cast. This is the same thing. Let's focus our attention on getting James Tolkan back - or, if you want a seriously cool guest that has some vague possibility around them, how about Huey Lewis? Now that WOULD be cool. But as far as Michael J. Fox is concerned, forget about it.
  19. Great move - this gives me the chance to rectify my mistake of not getting a BTTF poster signed. Thanks SM!
  20. I guessed that we would start seeing SGU cast members filtering through. Have to say, as a long time avid fan of Stargate, I did not connect with that show AT ALL. *But*, that had nothing to do with LDP - and I'm looking forward to meeting him :)
