I still think that Merlin would hold it's own as a con (every Merlin type official event I've been to has sold out and had hundreds of people there), but from that list? I think most people would have to be interested in both shows to want to go. Otherwise there's a chance that if you booked for show A, that there were 4 big guests from show B and two bit parts from show A. Which would be hard to justify the cost... (not that SM wouldn't try to even it out, but you can only get the guests that are available). Day of the Triffids? I'm assuming that's the new one? *is pained* Why can't people just read the books these days.

It is nothing LIKE 2.2 miles. If you walk (not drive) by coming out of the train station, turning right and going over the bridge, walk through the park, take the first exit you come too, turn right and walk through the housing estate until ... a road I can't remember, you're at the National Badminton Centre in under 5 minutes (least I am, and I am not superwoman or anything.) The NBC is opposite Heron's Lodge.

Hehe, it added lots of excitement. Just never again. I don't think Graham would be overly keen to repeat the experience either. (Though I was vaguely tickled that I'd travelled 350 miles NORTH to go to the Southern Central hospital.)

*g* I don't think he minded anyway. (I was working in the signing area downstairs and we were having a conversation outside about his hair and I mentioned carpet hair - my baby brother used to have carpet hair, you HAVE to ruffle it - and suddenly Kai was behind us and tipped his head forward.) He's a special man that's for sure! But definitely a great con guest. (Working for him? That must make the days interesting ;p ) Kip Also - timecake - you like Kai? I'd have never guessed. *g*

Go for the hospital theme! I have a spare lab coat somewhere, it'll just be like going to work but I'll make some sort of effort with my appearance. *g* Kip

I'll do Glasgow again next year if I can get the time off work! It was fun, long as certain people don't end up in A&E again it will be even better.

Oh dear lord it's my face. I'm almost sure I have Giles to blame for that one. Great parties though!

There were some toilets that didn't require stairs next to the Star Wars signing area too! (Downstairs, opposite the ones that did have stairs down to them.)

Wow! Kayla does all the photos at a show like this one by herself, and it is kinda scary the number she ends up with. She will get through them all, just be patient!

I'm sorry, but you've given me a mental image of Jason walking up & down a queue of attendees, swagger stick under arm, saying: "Right now, today we're going to teach you to take good photos - STOP FIDGETING YOU 'ORRIBLE LOT!" *g* My bad. My brain is fried, however it's more fun to make lolful typos yes. Photography classes at the next CM!

They do complain. I always point out that I am not that good a photographer when asked, but there was one event this year when someone posted and asked why SM don't train their queue to take a good photo. Some events do what you're suggesting, so I bet it's crossed SM's minds and they've chosen not to for one reason or another.

I think you learned something hon. 7 events in a row is TOO many. And I will beat you into sitting down more if you do it again next year! (Also, Paris is pretty. Though I've been up since 4 so I'm thinking nap times!)

That was Kayla. She does them all by herself. And she is awesome for it! It's all right. I tend to find it's not a big event unless I get sworn at for asking someone to do something simple (at this event it was asking attendees to please not sit behind the tables the guests are signing on.) But mostly? The attendees are awesome and rule abiding and fun to chat to if there's a quiet moment. Besides for the odd 'certain people' - I know exactly who they are from what they've done before and that means SM can keep an eye on them. But thanks! Kip

And from someone on 'this crew' you taking a complete disregard for the rules is what makes things much harder work for us. Because then other attendees turn round and say 'well she got away with taking a photo of guest A even with a sign that says you can't' And they're right because it's not fair for one person to ignore the signs and get something back from it when those that have the courtesy to respect the wishes that often come from the agents or the guests themselves not get anything.

I didn't work in that pit, but the only reason for crew to be doing that would be on request of the guest themselves. It's not showmasters to blame for it.

Malcolm and Danielle are the photographers but I'm afraid I can't remember surnames off the top of my head.

There aren't any around, but Zee and her friends made one for the crew in the photoshoot because apparently they were awkward. *g*

Another conventioning year is over (is that a verb? If not I just made it one). I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that I did and did not work with at London this year! Particularly to Kayla and everyone else in my pit on Sunday - the downstairs signing area. And to Serena who was all the way down the other end. You were all fab and made it a very easy day! Thanks to Penfold for putting up with me all day Saturday too. He's really awesome at doing that without getting annoyed. See you all at the next one!
