  1. Considering Jolene Blalock was announced for C7 LAST NOVEMBER, it's even more ridiculous that Showmasters don't know or are choosing not to tell us what days she's appearing. . .if she's appearing at all. But I shall wait for this alleged update. And if they don't have the information, it's not an excuse for keeping us all in the dark. If they don't know, they can post two sentences telling us that. It's really not that difficult. It's called COMMUNICATION. And by the way, from what I can gather, Showmasters are on here a lot more than they want us to believe. They just say they're not when it suits them to say it. You try posting something on here that they don't like.. . .5 minutes later and it's gone.
  2. Given that these guest must have signed a contract stating which days they would appear on, I find it incredulous that this information hasn't yet been provided by Showmasters. . .Unless of course the guests haven't even signed a contract to appear. Given the sort of figure that I've heard Blalock expects to get for turning up at cons, I wouldn't be surprised if she "pulls out". Don't know about the others, but Creation apparantly paid her a fortune to make her first ever con appearance last month. Now she expects to be paid that for every show she signs at. . . You can understand what I'm insinuating here.
  3. Given the total lack of info on these guests, it wouldn't be remiss of anyone to say that at least one of them isn't going to show up at all. Once again, the "Total lack of Information" award goes to Showmasters.
  4. I quite agree. But sadly the lack of the old fashioned cliffhanger ending to make you watch next week is probably to satisfy the global market. Most Americans are far too thick to remember what happened yesterday let alone a week before! Plus the 45 min episode is directly aimed at the US and Canada. Simple, plotless stories with no characterisation or far easier to write than a proper 4 or 5 part character driven story.
  5. It's a shame Billie wasn't chloroformed for yesterday's ENTIRE episode! Yesterday's ST:TNG "Times Arrow" rip-off episode was quite watchable while Gobby was unconscious.
  6. As far as you're concerned, a "productive attitude to participation" equals 1) Jumping up and down shouting "Thank you Showmasters" at every available opportunity. 2) Flaming anyone who doesn't agree with what your employer is doing. Oh, and how utterly predictable of you two SM lapdogs to be the only people to have replied to what I've written. . .Have you really nothing better to do than constantly watch the forum for anything I post so that you sling mud at it? And you have the nerve to say that I'm begging for attention. Now why don't you run off to Mummy & Daddy and tell them what I've written so that THEY can respond to it in a proper manner if they so wish.
  7. Rowan wouldn't be able to make it due to problems with his man servant.
  8. If Showmasters need to resort to this kind of back door admission that they can't get guests that their audience want to see without begging them to dicatate event lineups, it's surely time that they got out of the game. The convention circuit is no place for organisers without ideas or a shred of originality.
  9. Agreed. I don't think Dave Prowse and Kenny Baker even warrant an annoucement. I thought they just turned up to events like this as standard. They're hardly going to pull in the punters. Well there are always new fans AB, and as you will see in the Dave Prowse announcement thread there are people who want to meet him at C7 Davey As far as I and few others on here seem to be concerned, I think building up to guest annoucments over a whole week and then giving us Dave Prowse & Kenny Baker is, and no offence to them, slightly taking the mick.
  10. Can you please spell her name correctly. She's not a wild cat for God's sake.
  11. Just had a look on Google. I think SM's need to put up a more representative photo. Well, we all get old.
  12. Agreed. I don't think Dave Prowse and Kenny Baker even warrant an annoucement. I thought they just turned up to events like this as standard. They're hardly going to pull in the punters.
  13. Sorry, but for once you're talking a load of Terry Farrell a circuit regular? I bloody well think not! I've waited years to meet this goddess and now my dream will come true. She's not even done a con in the US for years.
  14. Any chance of a Sid and Daphne Ashbrook photo from "Melora"?
  15. This will be interesting since I don't think Robert and Kate Mulgrew particularly like each other.
  16. HOLY MARY MOTHER OF GOD!!!! Such a shame she's married! What's the odds of a snog for £50?
  17. Just what I was thinking!! If only she still looked like that! Does anyone know what she does actually look like these days? Great guest!
  18. Well, she's pleasing on the eye at least. Not quite a top draw guest though.
  19. Sorry, I've just made a puddle on the floor. . .I can't help myself.
  20. With the truly amazing timing of this announcement, the main problem the BBC now faces is getting people to watch the rest of the first series, let alone any second one they make. Now everyone knows that Ecclestone's walked away, will people bother to watch knowing that if even they like Ecclestone as the Doctor, he's not coming back?
  21. The only man for the job as far as I am concerned ! A fine actor, but I doubt he'd want to do more than one series either. And to be honest, I know we've previously had Hartnell, Troughton & Pertwee in the oldies category, but isn't Nighy a little long in the tooth to be running around the galaxy with Billie Piper? I'm not sure he'd appeal to the masses who the BBC are aiming the series at. The Beeb want a young actor. And as for Ecclestone. He only did one season cos he wanted the work to raise his profile a bit. In hindsight, we should all have seen this coming. Seeing him in interviews, he was obviously not comfortable with either the media or the intrusion he was getting from it.
  22. Carrie Fisher's renowned the world over for being a bit of a. .. .well. . .you know! I never met her so can't really pass comment. But many people said she was as pleasant as she could be with a queue of 800 odd people waiting.
  23. I will say honestly that I had not HEARD of Burt Reynolds before LFACC2 so I think the description a "big star" would depend on some one's personal perspective I know "big" is subjective as I've said, but if you'd not heard of the mighty Burt before LFCC2, a lot of people would be quite worried about you! I suppose if you're of a younger age, I can perhaps understand it. . .Smokey and the Bandit isn't shown as often as it used to be! But his star has risen again in recent years. . . .Striptease, Boogy Nights, Dukes of Hazzard. If you added Tom Cruise & Brad Pitt together, and multiplied their combined celebrity and female adoration factor by about 50, you'd get how Burt Reynolds was seen by the masses during the 1970's and early 80's. He really is a movie star. History will record him as such long after Cruise and Pitt's stars have waned and faded in to historical obscurity.
  24. Very true. "Big" is a very subjective term. But if you apply it to actors/directors who have "been there, seen it & done it" in terms of their area of expertise, and are known of by large areas of the population due to their work, even if many people have never seen much of any of their work, then I agree that C7 is certainly lacking something in the guest department. There are going on probably about 60 guests so far announced for C7. If you count the "big" guests after applying the above criteria, you've not got much of a list. Maybe that's just due to films and TV shows not entering the public consciousness and popular culture like they used to. Nichelle Nichols is "big" even if she's never done much other than Star Trek. She's "big" because practically everyone knows who she is, even if they've seen little or no original series Trek. That's the extent to which TOS entered popular culture. I don't think there's anyone else announced who you could say is "big" in that way, except maybe Dean Stockwell who has pretty much been there, seen it and done it in the business without ever quite having become hugely "big". Many people will recognise him, even if they don't know his name. I suppose that constitues "big" too.
