  1. Oh I'm on that side of the fence still really. For the extra costs of venue time, crew, having to start setting up thursday instead, paying guests for an extra day and anything else you can think of, the amount of attendees who could actually make it all day on a friday (due to work, school or whatever) would seriously hinder SM costs-wise.
  2. And yeah as someone who's never needed a gold pass to be able to get 15+ people, I'd welcome the exclusives if I REALLY wanted a guest but only felt it was needed for that one guest.
  3. As I said earlier Murph, I assume the exclusive tickets will be limited to a number. So yes, you could pay £50/75/100 for a guest pass and get them for sure, or risk it (a little) and pay the normal over-the-table prices. And we cant always blame SM. I'm sure a lot of agents/managers or even guests up their appearence fees now and again and so SM have to compensate. If the price of gold goes up, so do the prices at the jewelery store. And as always, these events and how much you spend/get are YOUR choice. You dont NEED anything SM offers. It's just nice stuff to have and do. So you afford what you can. Like everything else in life that isnt essential.
  4. Yeah maybe even London is getting too small for events like this Only a few places can fit these events, and one is being demolished. So even less venues between all the events London holds over the space of a year. And like I said pages back, the very few that are big enough now for LFCC are going to cost SM way more than EC does, so that would have to transfer to us attendees in some way. America has way more convention centres and they are way bigger. As a country we are just a little behind in this in general, and now it's starting to hurt these events a bit. Also, to address a really weird one I've seen so far: people with shoot tickets and whatever but no entry? 1) who would even try that? lol seems like a recipe for disaster anyway. But 2) how about doing what Star Trek London does and have it so you cant access all the extra tickets and things without an order code from buying entry?
  5. I am assuming the exclusive guest tickets wouldnt be the ONLY way to get those guests. So you can still get the guest for a usual price, but just maybe not as early or as 'for definate' as the exclusives. So if they are too expensive for some people, those people wont lose out on that guest entirely.
  6. On saturday there was a very helpful and rather cute female crew member handing out VQs for someones line, but for the life of me I now cannot remember which line it was. It was around Lena though, but I dont think it was Lena's queue. As always, too shy to say hi or anything. Not that I would of anyway haha
  7. The exclusive packages are great ideas, but maybe only for the 2/3 biggest guests? Usually that's the amount of guests that are the BIG draws (Stan, Carrie, even Summer this time) so if they had something like you described, that would be cool. And again, make is rather limited and online-only. So say, 50/100 per guest. That way, a decent amount of people buy it and get through early and quickly, but you still have time to get through another 300+ normal attendees with ease.
  8. That's the issue though. If you keep everything open to everyone and cheap, this weekend happens all over again. People just wander up at a random time and fill up the hall or the queues outside. And then those are the vocal people who will complain and call the event rubbish because they were too cramped or didnt get in. And it's not liek we can easily just go somewhere else. There's only really the Excel (which is expensive to hire lots of) or (and it'll sound crazy) the O2 arena. I dont think there is anywhere else in London big enough for how big this event has become. So if SM cant afford those 2 places without making tickets crazy expensive for us, then they have to stay at EC2 and work out ways to cut down the attendees slightly. So pre-paid only is a great way to do that. EVERY walk of life has increased prices these days. I'm sure all the stuff Jason and co have to pay for to run these events has gone up recently, so they have to make that back some how.
  9. I do like the idea of saturday being pre-sale only. I think the most major issue this year was the amount of both early and standard walk-ups being waaaay more than anyone expected. Which is awesome, as it means these types of shows are getting a widr and wider audience and fanbase. But it also can ruin even the best-laid plans by an organiser. As I've said elsewhere, the event and guests are now a little too big for EC2 to handle with THAT many on-the-day people. So having at least one of the days, if not both, being pre-paid only would be good. Maybe have the first x number of pre-paids be blue tickets and the 2nd half be red and still have the two queues on either side of the entrance, so it isnt just one massive pre-paid queue. And still have early and standard as again that helps to split up the crowds. I will say I enjoyed this LFCC far less than others, but really it was mainly things out of your control (amount of people, the heat ect). I personally felt the air con here and there on saturday, so it WAS on. It's just the sheer amount of heat from everyone in the hall basically made it redunant. I love that you take the time to address things and de-brief. Most organisers dont, so thank you. And thank you for making a pretty mad event run as well as you could with the space and crew you had :)
  10. Weird as she was on the same plane as a bunch of others (Stan Lee included) but maybe she was going to grab an earlier one instead. Just means I cant get her friday.
  11. Or even find a willing and lovely person on here/in the UK who's going and post to them?
  12. Hat for me, if I can get one that is. 100 is veeery small.
  13. For any further entry/queuing questions: http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=84929 All explained there :)
  14. I'd put around £15/£20 on it for the weekend just to be safe, and incase you want to go on any detours. Then if you dont use it, you'll have it on there for the future.
  15. I had saturday number 1 at the original price. Gave it to my girlfriend as a birthday gift (after originally getting it for myself). Honestly had no need for it anymore really.
  16. Maybe it'll be Smith tomorrow, but based on his UK tour dates I doubt it. He might be home by LFCC.
  17. Yes he is, this is a 'normal' announcment post just like any other guest. Before he was just for the awards, now he's doing the con all 3 days too.
  18. Jason Meweeees! Met him when he was over a few years back at LFCC. BUT, I doubt it means Kev will be here. He's in the UK around this time for the Babble-On/Cartoon Movie tour but I think it finishes before LFCC.
  19. I used to be VERY autograph orientated. I'd get 10 or more per show. These days due to already having most I need and also not really thinking it's worth it as much anymore, I've dialled RIGHT back on autos. These days I'll get certain people, but they have to be ones I REALLY want to meet or need to finish a collection. And shoots are even rarer for me now. Rest is all cosplaying (but again, not so much now), hanging out with friends and shopping.
  20. I've never seen the inner workings, so I dont know, but are the two halls connected internally? As in, will we need walk along the outside of the buildings to get between them, or is there an indoor way to move between? Just incase the British summer does what it normally does
  21. Amazing guest! Cannot wait to meet him. Now to decide between Kill Bill vol.2 or Res Dogs poster...
  22. My initial guess for him (and I did have to check lol) was page 5
