  3. He's listed elsewhere on the forums as Keith Mayhew, and a quick google for that name gives links to a photographer at photos@keithmayhew.co.uk and at keith.mayhew@ntlworld.com I'd try dropping those addresses an email. 882981[/snapback] Hi PLEASE Do not try contacting me at the latter of those 2 emails as it is long since dead. I had so much spam and emails containng virii that I bought my own domain name for use in emails, so photos@keithmayhew.co.uk will find me easily. KEITH

  6. As I know Warwick is one of the most popular guests that appears on the 'signing circuit' due to his various parts in so many hit movies AND the fact that he's a nice guy, I thought I'd post this He is appearing in Panto at MK theatre this Christmas along with Richard O'Brien, Toyah Willcox and Suzanne Shaw. They had a Cast Photocall at the Snow Dome yesterday and this is one of the pics I took. Warwick did tell me that he was not coming to C8, but had been approached by Jason for the G-Mex event. Nothing as yet signed and sealed no not official announcement. Also he is doing a DVD signing with Martin Freeman on Monday at Virgin Megastore, Piccadilly as the HITCHHIKERS GUIDE TO THE GALAXY DVD is launched.
  7. And take your camera with you Davey! You might get a pic of me.....
  8. Yes no problem - I was there at that very wet 'PERFECT CATCH' Premiere - and yes that was actually stated as a 'Premiere' not as 'Celeb Screening'. A horrid night in the rain that saw most of us snappers sheltering across the road at Cafe Nero till absolutely the last minute. BUT....I did get a nice big pic of Drew used in the Evening Standard and in the Scotsman plus another in a US mag last week...so far. Right OFFICIAL Details now to hand for Elijah August 24: vip screening/Green Street. Elijah Wood, Marc Warren, Leo Gregory, Charlie Hunnam, Lexi Alexander, cast and director, attend special screening for football aggro drama, Apollo West End, Lower Regent Street, media & photo pens open 5.45pm, arrivals, 7pm, film starts 8pm. SO NOT ONLY ELIJAH, but also other cast - and it is organised by Premier PR, Who are one of the 2 main Premiere and Event companies, so it should be pretty well organised (famous last words!) KEITH
  9. details for edinburgh August 23: Edinburgh Film Festival/gala screening/Green Street. Elijah Wood, Charlie Hunnam, Leo Gregory, Marc Warren, Lexi Alexander, cast and director, attend gala screening for football hooliganism drama, UGC Fountain Park, Fountainbridge, Edinburgh, 7.30pm. AND ALSO IF ANYONE IS UP THERE - SAME DAY JOSS WHEDON..... August 23: Edinburgh Film Festival/talk/Joss Whedon, Buffy creator discusses his career and feature film debut Serenity which premieres at festival, Cineworld, Fountain Park, Dundee Street, 5pm
  10. Yes, that is EXACTLY was I said in my original post! The cinema might be tiny, but the important factor as far as setting up barriersis pavement frontage. I have no idea about that, but I'm certain - as a later poswter indicated - with someone like Elijah being there, security will ensure barriers are in place - even if only on one side. Cant confirm a time for the screening yet, but it will be evening sometime I'm sure. KEITH
  11. First up, apologies for posting this here, but I felt that ELIJAH WOOD has lots of fans on this forum and that the C8 category is at the moment the most visited. Anyway, As any Elijah fan will know he has a new movie out soon, GREEN STREET. It has a Premiere next Tuesday at the Edinburgh Film Festival. BUT for any of you fans based in the south, there is to be a Celebrity screening on Wednesday evening (sorry, dont know the time yet) at the Apollo cinema, Regent Street, London where the Director, Lexi Alexander and Elijah himself are to attend. Thought I'd let you all know as I've literally only just found out myself. AND For BILLY BOYD Fans - he will be a the Premiere for his new film - ON A CLEAR DAY - On Wednesday August 31st at the Screen on the Hill, London KEITH
  12. Well, Ewan should be at the ISLAND Premiere on Sunday - along with Scarlett Johanssen and Sean Bean Odeon Leicester Sq, Sunday August 7th
  13. No, that was not my point at all. I did NOT get involved in this thread for fear that I'd get ousted in any way. I'm sure that if Jason decided he wanted to offer 'photoshoots with guests' that he would ask for my input, advice and possibly offer it to me. But I really could not care less about whether anyone else is brought in to do that side of things. That is a service which could be offered at a show. I merely put forward the explanation of how and why 'photoshoots' are not an every day occurence at a show. It mainly time and/or economics. I strongly put over the point that you (the customer) cannot expect to be paying less for having a photo with a guest AND getting it signed, than if you were just queuing for an autograph, as it appeared some people were suggesting. Still thats all for another day.
  14. >>>Like I said, I'm not a professional at all but I think it's not very difficult to take a picture of someone with a guest<<< No it's not - OK here's my camera...you are now a Professional photographer. You see thats the problem, you naturally think, EASY, #1 Guest #2 Fan, put them together, snap, photo - VOILA! Well if you are paying ME (Remember I get paid for shooting good photos EACH AND EVERY TIME I PICK UP MY CAMERA) to take a GOOD photo of you. >>>And to correct you, if I blink or the picture is really not good, you can see it directly on the computer screen<<< Yes that is indeed the beauty of digital. The image can be checked and reshot. Thats also why a photographer will not just take one shot. The image can also be manipulated in post processing - but that ALL TAKES TIME. And time is not something you have a lot of if you have 100 people queued up to have their photo taken with celebrity guest and you have ONE HOUR ONLY to get them all in, posed, shot PERFECTLY. If not, where's that Monkey? Unfortunately with everyone now owning some kind of camera, it's all EASY. The times I'm told, " that photography lark, cor blimey mate, money for old rope" There are a LOT of very disappointed people around who have put their faith in 'blokewithacamera.com' only to find the results, out of focus, poorly framed, too dark, too light or just plain crap. That goes for any kind of photography. Yes, YOU are NOT a Professional - On the other hand I AM. I've just come back from shooting the CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY UK Premiere at Leicester Square. There were around 60 photographers working the Premiere. There were loads of people in the crowd with cameras. They are shooting for their own memories. If that pic of Johnny Depp 15 yards away from you is out of focus, someone's arm is in the way, a bit too dark etc - no matter you still have the memory. Same as your own photos you take of celebs at Conventions. They are - for you - fine. But do you want PROFESSIONAL - or do you want snaps??? And yes, before you ask, I did get plenty of good photos from the Premiere and have just sent over 100 thru to the Photo Agency in London - as I will tomorrow for FANTASTIC FOUR. As I will on Tuesday when I'm booked for a day at a Convention Centre for a Corporate 'do'. No excuses - no 'oops my flash never worked' or 'oops, wasn't in the right position' or 'oops battery ran out', that is why I am a PROFESSIONAL and people pay me.
  15. But you are looking at it from the side of the buyer, not the provider. So obviously your view will NOT be a view taking account of the economics of the situation. Yes a guest might need a break during the day - so they take a break. They go the green room and chill out. If they are being moved from a signing area to a photo area, its not a 'break' and if as you say when they get back they are 'signing faster'......duh thats not good news for all those people on this forum who complain that their meeting with a guest was rushed with the guest hardly having a chance to interract with them. Certainly your idea that to have a photo with a guest costs £x and to get that photo signed costs another £x would give the idea credence and econonic viability. As I understand it, some guests to do like to have a lot of photos taken FULLSTOP, and some just dont want all those flashes going off at them all day. Personally speaking I remember a few Collectormanias ago one guest refused to have ANY Photos taken (even by ME) or used. The guest's reasoning being "I'm here to sign not to have my photo taken! " Seemed strange to me as this particular guest had been in the media spotlight for many many years.
  16. I'm glad you are happy with your inkjet prints. Maybe this is the answer to your other point, 'the other show can do it, so why not Collectormania/LFACC'. Cutting costs and corners - By not having a professional photographer (sadly these days anyone with a camera thinks they are a photographer) just a guy who is happy to do it cos he's getting a buzz out of being close to celebs, you get what you pay for. By not having proper photographs and just inkjets or dye sub pics, most people are happy with that - fine. So you pay your £15, get a snap by a bloke with a camera printed on cheap inkJet stock. Sounds really 'professional' - but you get what you pay for dont you. Just supposing the guest you REALLY wanted to have your photo with - you know.... THAT ONE. Well 'blokewithcamera.com' are doing the photoshoots, they are pinging the punters through at 3 a minute. You are hardly getting a chance to blink (so in the photo youve blinked). The pic comes back, it should be special, its not. It might be OK though - it might not, Like I said, you pay peanuts you get monkeys. Some of those monkeys are pretty clever, some though are just monkeys.
  17. Why ? 18 hours is a bit of a random type of number to come up with, dontcha think? I guess I'm speaking with a bit of knowledge here as I'm the bozo that does the Photography at the Collectormania/LFACC events. Having been a Professional photographer for close to 20 years now and fully digital for 30 months, I think I can speak with a bit of authority. Firstly, the problem with doing any photo sessions at a show is tying up the celebrity's time in photoshoots rather than in signing autographs. The kind of level of guest i.e the MAIN ones are pretty tied up signing over all of the days. Take them away for an hour - thats an hour's less autos signed, say 60 in an hour @ £20 a pop, so the photosessions would have to be at least as remunerative. Except one important point... Lets say, celeb A signs 75 autos an hour (remember Elijah signed 1000 each day when he was over here) @ £20 each = £1500. Take celeb A away for a Photoshoot and if you are really aiming at getting PROPER photos done, with minimum of fuss, but also not making it like a one hour production line, lets say 50 pics in an hour. OK push me, lets go for 60 - thats one a minute. That works out to (@£20 each) £1200 for the hours work EXCEPT that, with auto signing there is no cost involved, just a signature. With the Photo session, someone has to pay the Photographer for his/her time (EVERYONE FORGETS THAT IT COSTS ££££ TO HIRE A PROFESSIONAL) or at least Photographer gets a percentage. Then there is the cost of the print itself. I know at other shows, they run off crappy inkjet or laser copies (sorry they are NOT Photos and willnot last long). If we are talking about 10" x 8" prints, the minimum cost of just the print is £1 a time. Or you could try using Jessops at MK, they charge £4.99 for a 10"x8" print in one hour. Then there is the time spent - as someone mentioned - in 'admin'. Shoot 60 photos and get them numbered or addressed, or just given to the wrong person. Yes, in theory this may not take too long, but IT DOES TAKE TIME. Time that could be spent elsewhere or you get another 'helper' to do it, which in itself is another payment. Oh yes, and then you want the photos to get signed by the celebrity......mmmm more time spent by the guest in signing photos, instead of signing already provided photos/personal items @ £20 each. So how do you structure the fees/costs? Get an item signed by Celeb A @£20 Pose for a photo with Celeb A at photosession, get print done, get back to celeb to sign @ £20 Sorry, not viable is it, otherwise EVERYONE would only want a personal photo signed eh? Alternatively, Posed professional photo @ photosession, back signed by celeb for later that day or next day @ £30 ?? £35 ?? Just work out the maths, work out the time spent and you can see just why SMs do not offer Photo sessions with the guests. And from what I've heard, some of the muppets masquerading as 'professionals' at other shows are....well, frankly, muppets. I know one guy who does 'another show' and he was doing them while he was unemployed, but he's now a night porter at a hotel. Is that 'professional' ?
  18. Lou and Warwick might be out of focus, but hey - MY bald head, right eye brow and my glasses are just about SPOT ON. You must have been shooting over my right shoulder......... KEITH
  19. The photos are MY copyright and are not to be reproduced without Showmasters consent. I'm sure they would not have any problems with you posting a link to this website forum though. KEITH
  20. OK A little treat for you Charisma fans. She looked lovely on Saturday and better still in that gorgeous dress on Sunday, so here before SM put up the official image gallery next month (I've not had anywhere near a chance yet to sort thru all my pics to put onto a CD yet).......Charisma Carpenter
  21. I have emailed the webmistress of Val's official website with this information and she will no doubt update her site accordingly, as I know they have several members who intend coming over from Europe and from various parts of the UK to see him.
  22. Actually Mate, if you look closely at your own post you quoted 'thethinwhiteduke's post not either 'Keithj' or myself... ....and actually my own post below that of 'keithj' (no relation to me whatsoever) confirmed his as I'd received an email from the webmistress of Val's official website telling me that she'd been informed by Val's 'people' that he'd be unable to attend Saturday. But hey - who cares, believe me or ignore me, Dom. You have no idea who I am and as the post below yours mentions "nice to see you are making new friends"...NOT There was me thinking I was being faintly helpful, but I won't bother in furure when there are numpties like you around.
  23. What on earth are you inferring ??????? The message posted on here about Mr Kilmer only appearing at LFACC on Sunday was given in good faith and from sources close to the actor himself. Also, considering he will be on stage till late on Friday evening and will have to prepare for a 3pm and 7-30pm show on the Saturday (I'm sure it's not a case of just turning up at 2.45pm and getting changed!), it is not unexpected to hear that he will not be able to attend during his few free hours in the morning. Sunday, is a different kettle of fish, of course. I assume that when he originally agreed to be at Earls Court on the Saturday morning he was not aware (or slipped his mind) that he had a Saturday matinee, as the play's run had not begun. We will, of course, await Showmasters OFFICIAL Confirmation of Val's appearance times. I'm sure we'd all like him to find time to be there Saturday too, but would understand due to his commitments the previous night and later on Saturday if he were unable to be there.
  24. I guess Showmasters will confirm this very soon, after speaking with Val's 'people', but I have received an email this morning from the webmistress of Val's official website. She tells me that she's been informed that Val is unable to attend on Saturday due to his 2 performances of 'Postman', although will be at LFACC but probably will only be there late morning to early afternoon. Of course this information is subject to Showmasters official confirmation.
  25. So where will I find those then?
