I do not know if its my age...but some peeps do not seem to understand a bit of japeing when it happens. On to announcements.....Although the biggys can sell a con they are not always the most entertaining. I champion the little guys....er and girls.

Actually i was joking about being in all 3 shows...and it would be nice to see the smaller guests announced though...it might fire up some enthusiasm.

Am i reading this right that everyone is waiting for one big guest announcement... So if one biggy is announced will the con still go ahead with one guest, and would the said guest have been in all shows or am i being really really silly. Hard to have a 3 show con with a guest from one show ???

My thoughts...as someone who has been going to cons for longer than i want to admit. I love the big mixed cons like LFCC..( but hate the fact that it is in July )...I love the range of guests and dealers that you get. Also i can take my daughter with me now. MK i will only go to, as it is such a schlep to get there, if the guest are amazing. Individual cons are okay if they are about what you are into. Though why people keep banding True Blood and Being Human with Twilight i will never know. The trouble with the set show cons is of course the cost. I signed up to the BH con last year and was really upset that it folded...the line up was fab. But then you got the stars for LFCC and all was forgiven. So what is the answer... If you only had the big mixed cons i would go to as many as i could...even for just one guest. But because of the individual show cons that i want to attend..( Bitten and LOTR )...that means that i have to be very picky..and my daughter misses out. PS...would also love to have a west country venue..ie Bristol. Keep up the good work...and Live Long and Prosper...Oh how sad am i....

I think this is a no win discussion. I agree with jackndaniel...Its not just ticket price, its all the other payouts that go with it, and the distance to travel. I know there is hopefully gonna be a fist signer there...but its gonna have to be a goody to entice me. And i am a hard line LOTR fan...with some wicked costumes i am dying to wear again.

So agree with you again. Craig parker is a lovely, friendly and very chatty person but many have had 2 or more encounters with him...if i met him again i would just have to talk about Spartatcus...

I get where you are coming from but what about the hundreds who have met loads of the cast...loads of times...Can we at least have some hope for a newbie signer. Just one good one will have me going...even if i do not want or need the announced guests auto's.

Hear hear...i second that. A lovely lady....very underrated in my opinion.

I agree with you....it would be so good to have this event. But when you have met the guest that have been announced so far 3 or 4 times what on earth is there left to be signed. I so want to come to this but do i want to pay for something i do not want. There has to be at least one first time signer.

And still no guests....glad i did not sign up to this one.

As fab as these two are we need some guests that have not signed before.....Sis and i are mad LOTR fans but we have met many of the cast so many times that unless someone new...as in not done one before... comes we just can not attend. I know peeps will harp on about.." its not all about the guests"..but when money is limited..( and this con is not cheap)...i am afraid it is. Saying that we both have LOTR costumes we are dying to wear again.

Just thought i would start a thread as some people may be getting bored waiting for an announcement. Stephen says this during a FX ident on tv....i love it...so any other quotes from TB of course, that we all love and repeat.
