So the ME announcement was tonight. Can the SM one be far behind?

So strange. Emma Watson was on Jonathan Ross this evening and I was just thinking about a friend of mine who knows the parents of one of the HP stars and I was wondering if they'd ever do a con or signing and now this. It's turning into a HP night all round.

Why not give us the date of the announcement so we can have an old fashioned countdown thread? Remember the Monday 7pm announcements? The anticipation? The wild speculations? The crashing of the website? Oh, maybe that's why we don't... But still, it'd be fun.

Guys, after 18 pages, I'm still not sure what it is you're after. A Supernatural Con perhaps?

I don't even know if they can speak English but the two young stars of 'Let the Right One In' would be fantastic - A unique and very moving vampire movie.

Paul Reiser - he'd be one for the 'Aliens' fans but I'd love to meet him because of 'Mad about You'.

456 is a great number but we need to ask some serious questions. Abrams Inc. was cancelled due to poor ticket sales, with many saying that they were waiting to hear what other guests were going to be announced while another con organiser has sold out their next Supernatural event on the strength on one supporting (albeit popular) actor. Do we need to start putting our money where our mouths are? How many of the 456 are willing to buy tickets for a con on the stength of a guest star in the hopes of landing one of the big two? I can only imagine that SM/ME are a bit con shy at the moment. Loads of people said they wanted more LOST guests, they get one of the best characters in the show and they don't even sell 70 tickets!! How do we let the 'powers that be' know that we are serious about this con?

Tell you what guys. Start talking about other cons, other organisers - that'll get SM on here in a flash!! Seriously though, I still believe that SM /ME have taken on too many things. If you announce a LOST/BUFFY/TREK con or whatever, most people will expect good guests, main cast guests and more than one. Now, if you get an actor who has a recurring role or someone who guest stared in an ep or two, it doesn't really make the con special (that's for those who wants cons to be about the guests; I know that for some of you it's just a chance to meet up with other fans and that's fine too). If said 2nd string guests were at CM or LFCC then that'd be fine, interesting guests who don't have to carry the weight of the fans expectations for the show alone. 10 or 12 2nd string stars make for a good CM, 1 or 2 2nd string guests don't make an attractive con for most people. I think SM/ME should conserve the limited pool of guests who are available and bring them together at CM/LFCC.

Maybe they're too busy organising the Supernatural con

While I always love CM's, this one clashes with another con in the London area that same weekend. I thought you usually tried to avoid each others events. Look like I'll have to be running all over London that weekend!! ^^ just seeing crippsy 99's post above - same problem!!

I would LOVE Frasier guests - but not for LFCC, as I can't make it!! (how's that for selfishness?)

Guys, if this thread consists of only bitching (warranted as it may be) about another con and bitchiness towards other fans, then the chances of getting a Supernatural con will, IMO, be nil. Let's keep it postive; why we love the show, what we hope the con can be, the diversity of fans and our belief that SM can do a really good good on this. I don't want to have to fly to the US for a Supernatural con; I already have to go there for good Star Trek cons!!

Well, that's what I get for not visiting this thread for a couple of days. No Leonard on Friday!!!! Nooooo! And just after my photos of Spock from new ST movie arrive from the States I know, no one's at fault, I'm just having a bit of a moan. Oh well, I'll go and see Avery and pop in to see Nathan as he's on Fri now as well.

All this moaning reminds me of the humans in WALL-E. The easier you make it for people, the easier they want it. In 20 years time will SM be providing foot massages for the poor folk who have to stand in a queue for 5 minutes to get an autograph or supplying counsellors for those who didn't get to hug/kiss/become best friends with the guests? Guys, it's a frakking autograph/collectors show!! If you want to go, go. If you don't, don't. If you don't like where a local Asda or Tesco is located, do you call the head office and ask them to move it closer to where you live? No. You just go. If the buses don't suit, don't order a Big Mac and fries at lunchtime, take a couple of sandwiches with you to save money and hire a bloody taxi!!! Geez...

In an attempt at fairness, I spent some time after one of the CM shows with JCB and she was lovely. I know there have been some bad experiences but let's not judge everyone on the few moments experienced in the heat of a busy day.

Maybe, like me, they can only be there on Friday.
