  1. No, most of us have given up, because when you try and reason with people, and say 'If you just say WE WANT LIJ, you wont get anywhere, try and go for more realistic guests' you get flamed. Like you just did. You cant talk to or reason with people.
  2. Theyre on the westminster website. No one knows whos is attending except the press. Attendance? Usually a few hundred, maybe 1000 fans will show up depending on the movie and who is in it As for meeting and times? Read the frickin thread people. How lazy are some people? No Im not going to email you, cos youre lazy.
  3. £10'000 is not overpriced for SM. Rumours say theyve paid more. Even £50'000 would command a fee of around £25, which has been charged before, though would be pricey for him. Look at how much Carrie Fisher asked for, and also check my story about SMG above... Dont know how much Carrie was paid. As for SMG, thats because she hates fans and basically was saying "I wont do it."
  4. Couldnt say now. Things have changed. Used to be near the press but sometimes now they chuck you out of there. Opposite doors is best, but people get there stupid early for that.
  5. COMPARED TO ME IN IRELAND AND MANY OTHERS OVERSEAS, YES ! rubbish distance means nothing it depends how close to airports etc you are (you could be closer than somebody else to the event but it may take you longer to get there) same as if there was an event in ireland i wouldn't be moaning about distance either go or don't no point keep moaning So people should spend hundreds booking flights, travel, hotel rooms, and the like, and then just "not turn up" if they dont like it. People will book plans on the strength of guests. Its getting to a stage now if even great guests are announced less people will show, because the time was too late. There will be no adverts in Empire now, for example, cos the next issue is out the end of June. So thats one market missed. I cant imagine this is by design. Something must have gone wrong. But with so much time to plan this why are there so few guests announced just weeks before the event? 14 average faces for something of this size? And expecting people to pay £200 for a Gold Pass?!
  6. Just to contradict some things that have been said. You do NOT have to be there by 10am. And the barriers will NOT be up the day before. This never happens, except for the exceptional ones like Star Wars, where people were waiting overnight. It is a massive health and safety risk, and the barriers will likely go up in the afternoon. Collateral was NOT that busy, I arrived at 2pm and had the entire row to myself for an hour or so, I had one friend who arrived at 6pm and got Toms auto fine. Its a Sunday, so will be busier early for sure, and there is also a lot of press around it. That said for a Johnny Depp appearance on a Sunday I arrived 3pm and was fine too. If you want to be safe arrive by midday, and dont be put off by others saying if youre not there by 6am 3 months before you wont get anything. Tom is thorough and will get to most people: a 2nd row spot and an autograph is better than nothing at all! It doesnt matter too much where you stand with Tom, for most premieres there are key spots, but as he hits most places anywhere is fine. Take whatever you want, there are no rules! As for rude people, its more to do with the premiere than the usual fans. When someone like Orlando Bloom does a premiere then fan girls turn up who dont know the correct manners for these things!

  8. Norman Widsom? Reasonable? You know how old the poor guy is? And its SIR...be respectful!
  9. I very much doubt its a few hundred grand, else no one would bring him anywhere!
  10. Why an autograph? Because thats what it is. You meet someone and ask them to put their name on something, and their signature is their own way of writing their name down. Its not the general autograph, thats just a squiggle of ink, anyone could do that, but its the person who put it down that makes it mean something. And by doing it in their own way means you can identify who wrote it. Why I collect I do not know. As a kid I got football autographs, then motor racing, then I got a little older and collected music autographs, then I realised famous people did theatre and started collecting those instead. Then I found out about writing through the mail and do that, and accidentally stumbled on a movie premiere and waited and met Tom Cruise, so do those too. And then I found out about conventions and attend a few of those, though not many as I generally like collecting A-List names, and those others who I like dont tend to do events, though sometimes its nice to meet a random but interesting person. I also am not a fan of paying the now standard £15-£20 for the privledge, Id rather wait at Leicester Square or a Stage Door- 5 hours wait and meeting Tom Cruise, Al Pacino, Johnny Depp, George Lucas etc. is much better time spent for me than £15 for a minor actor! And then because I like to look back, and see who I have. When I see the autograph I remember how and when I got it, so its like a little chronicle of my life. And one day my kids will do the same look through my folders, my memorabilia and autograph books and say "Wow, look who Dad met." Maybe one day theyll have them valued and someone with an interest will also see them and theyll all think about the interesting places I went, and people I met. And that'll probably be my legacy, I doubt Ill be famous, I doubt Ill invent something life-changing, but these things will be who I was and what I did. And I like that.
  11. Might as well use the energy on other promoters who are willing...?
  12. SM have paid big money for people, so that wouldnt be an issue. Considering the huge success of a recent even with wrestling theyd be foolish to miss out.
  13. Yep. Anthony is a nice guy, Ive not had a problem with him before. So what if he puts on a nice face, most stars do. Tom Cruise spends 3 hours with a fake smile at premieres but does this mean I dont want to meet him? Course not!
  14. http://sites.gizoogle.com/?url=http://show...ter&f=3&t=13629 Chek the first area...! (Might not be as funny, cos it changed when I went back...)
  15. I met him too. He also s*** up my silver sharpie signing a board for someone else! Grr. Also met Robert Rodriguez, Michael Madson, Mickey Rourke, Jamie Cullum and Edgar Wright. Wasnt a bad day, though the weather was annoying.
  16. I should think he will only do a big US Con, and likely Celebration or something. Nice guy when I met him though.
  17. I dunno about Warrior. £20 was too much IMO.
  18. I saw them years back. At the Astoria in '98, and at Virgin Tottenham Court Road when Warning came out. Met them both times too...
  19. He signed a few at the Premiere on Monday, that was your best chance folks...
  20. Like I said, you have to sign up to USPS and then order from there. Jeremy Bulloch is good at replying, but for more info you really should sign up to Star Archive. Its a bit unfair when people do and others want to know addresses for free. Its a brilliant site, and when I can afford to start collecting TTM again Ill sign back up.
  21. No, he was there, right next to the alien and behind him was the flying pig...
  22. Silver sharpies arent brillaint either, lots just dry up and dont work. Personally I reccomend 'Posca' pens, in particular Uni Posca. You can get them from the London Graphic Centre, and they show up well on dark stuff. I use a sky blue for dark items, I bought a white one but it sucks quite a lot. Heres what the blue can do:
  23. Be warned, though IRC's are good, theyre not brilliant. They still have to be exchanged for stamps, and most people wont want to have to go and do that. Sign up to USPS and order a book of US stamps, then attach them. All people have to do then is sign the pic and seal the envelope. Ive had varying success, got stuff back from James Garner, Dan Aykroyd, Michael Schumacher and some baseball players. But also had some I wanted never return. But its all part of the game. And remember, if you write to big stars, youve got little chance of getting anything back. Some people get 1000s a week and could never respond!
  24. Considering he has said he wont do a SM event Id say unlikely. And exactly. He appears often, including this year already. Plenty of chances to meet him. People act as if SM are the only organisers out there!
