What is the best way to transport a poster during a comic-con? I am planning to take one to LFCC but I'm not sure how to keep it safe, and to prevent signatures being smudged etc.

You can probably garner enough general knowledge, but most likely nothing difficult, unless you are a very fast learner and have a good memory

Take roughly a year (on and off) watching every episode, and if you are a fast reader try the Target books, VNA, VMAs, PDAs and EDAs (absolutely no one will even know what they are), and maybe try reading the entirety of the wiki! Then you may become an expert like me
