It's like the previous standalone films, and most of the X-Men movies in that it tends to ignore what came before. 1 or 2 references to the previous films but blink and you'll miss them.

As a closing chapter I thought it hit a lot of right notes with Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart giving great performances. Richard E Grant and Boyd Holbrook are acceptable villians without having to sink into scenery chewing camp, something the X-Men films have been guilty of a lot. The action scenes were well handled by James Mangold, much like his work on The Wolverine, he seems to be able to get the best out of everyone involved, and the film defintely benefits from a director known for drama not action at the helm. I did feel like the swearing was too much, just because you have the 15 rating, doesn't mean you have to drop f-bombs every 30 seconds, this coming from someone who curses a lot in life. The film has issues in the overly sombre tone, and some of the third act relevations felt trite and almost Mad Max beyond thunderdome. Stephen Merchant, although great has too little screen time to really do much with, and some of the CGI felt rubbery and out of place. The violence is GRAPHIC but somehow unlike the swearing, this doesn't feel out of place, it fits the context of the story and Logan's journey through the film. Don't go in expecting a standard comic book movie because this ain't that.

I feel like Finn and Jessica wouldn't even be going if it wasn't for Iron Fist. It's extremely underrepresented so far and I have no idea why. The guests are wayyy busier than a lot of the guests they get from other shows who spend most of the day just sat at their table hardly meeting anyone. It might be something to do with the delayed start to season 7, maybe rhey are locked in on promotional duties

I agree I set a budget and if I hit it I'm done, if you get any cancelled guests than that I spend again, if I'm missing anyone simply because it was already spent in the original budget

Id say thats doable but I've never tried a convention with a child. Friday tends to be a quieter day in the 2 years I've attended so you have that hoing for you as well

But in all seriousness last year wasn't perfect for diamond people who also had gold passes as they had to queue twice. Can I suggest this year two queues again, but if you have both you get them all at once.
