  1. TonyC I think your avatar sums up the weekend for me. The Carrie photoshoot with Gary was an absolute hoot! Everytime I think of it, it makes me smile. Those few moments made the weekend.
  2. I don't think anyone has mentioned Natalie Dormer ;-)
  3. Sadly I think this might just be a Billy trait. I drove a 200 hundred mile round trip to Milton Keynes just to get his autograph and had an identical experience to yours. Pleased to get his autograph but on my list of memorable guests for the wrong reason.
  4. After reading the Saturday write up I was getting nervous about today but either the days were like chalk and cheese or SM really upped their game today as I thought most of it was good to excellent. I was in the early bird queue (bought my ticket online in advance) at 8.30am, doors opened at 9am and I was inside by 9.15am. I can't fault that. I had photoshoots with Stan Lee, George Romero and Carrie Fisher. Stan was a long wait and a 'conveyor belt' affair but I understand why and I did get to spend a few moments stood alongside the great man. George was a gentleman and Carrie was a hoot. There was a fair amount of waiting around so I took the chance to talk to others who were in the same position me. Virtually all were happy to chat and the two lads alongside me from Scotland waiting for the Stan Lee photoshoot were a great laugh. I also got an autograph from Robert Hays ( who was very friendly) and Ian McDiarmid who whilst rather 'formal' with the fans, was great to see as I can't remember him signing in the UK at an event like this before. I was chuffed to bits getting to meet the guests I did. The crew/ stewards were excellent all day. I think I would single out Phil for a special award on the Stan Lee photoshoot as he did a great job managing a large number of people. A screen displaying numbers needing to join the queue might have helped him but for effort and composure I thought he did really well. All in all I had a great day but I was absolutely knackered by the end.If I was forced to find fault I would say it was rather on warm side and it is a shame that if you need to sit down the floor is pretty much the only option. I understand a number of issues were raised about Saturday by other attendees but as I wasn't there I can't pass comment. If SM run future events as well as they did today with such a great selection of guests I will be happy to keep attending.
  5. As other people have said the morning photoshoot didn't take place but the afternoon did. I must admit I was in two minds about the inclusion of the dog in the photo but as it turned out it was by far the most entertaining photoshoot I have ever attended! Carrie was an absolute hoot and the poses were close to flirts. Great guest and Carrie was great as well!
  6. What's the pic on the left ? That is Cellheim Anujo from Episode 3 Ah okay thanks, was too dark I couldn't work anything out :) No problem ;-)
  7. What's the pic on the left ? That is Cellheim Anujo from Episode 3
  8. Cellheim Anujo in Episode 3 and slug club wizard in potter
  9. Matt, My son is now 8 and loves going to these events. He loves getting a photo with the Cosplayers and I reckon we must take about 30 pictures of him by the end of each event. In all the years we have gone I haven't had a single Cosplayer say no to a photo. Without exception they have all been good sports. On top of that don't miss out on the photo opportunities yourself! There are a lot of attractive women in costumes there and my wife is happy to have her photo taken with the men! Enjoy it :-)
  10. I've got photoshoots arranged with the great George Romero, the lovely Carrie Fisher and the legendary Stan Lee. If I have any money left :-) I hope to get Ian McDiarmid's auto as well.
  11. Whether you get an autograph or a photo is a really down to personal choice I know ( and that thing called money comes into the equation). For what its worth i have found after attending fairs etc for the last 20 years or so that I tend to look back far more at the photos than the autographs......... But I always remember the chats that I had with the guests ( Brian Blessed stills remains the one I most fondly remember!). If your budget allows definitely do both- I have already bought my photoshoot with Mr Romero and if money allows I would like to get his auto as well. I hope the journey down south goes well and I hope you enjoy the day.
  12. If George Romero decides to remake 'Martin' it looks like he has found a leading man with time on his hands.
  13. As well as a lovely guest to meet one thing has always confused me...... Return of Jedi was made over thirty years ago- when I met Femi last year I didn't think she looked a day over thirty years old. ILM magic? ;-)
  14. I think it is more likely that Jason will announce Glenn Miller and Lord Lucan doing signings on the Sunday than England making the final. Ps but I have nothing against dreaming :-)
  15. Meeting the legend Stan Lee or watching 22 big kids kick a bag of wind around a big lawn. It doesn't look like a tough decision to me.
  16. I agree with Lostboy1981. I love Sherlock and I wish every success with the convention. From the build up however I thought that maybe Richard Bingham or Jimmy Hoffa were going to be signing at Earls Court and MK ;-)
