that's the promt I need to get my romana cosplay up and running.

Finished making the quiver for my 'maid marian' cosplay, also made some bracers. Just recreating scene from robot of sherwood episode. Still need to do all the eyelets by hand for the lacing of front and sleeves then hem the dress.

At the moment I'm just thinking of doing sunday...unless someone I don't want to miss does saturday. It'll be a cheaper train fair for one thing and I need to save the pennies now.

I liked Capaldi as the doctor. I didn't like the episode though at all...especially the larder fight which was quite frankly pants. Strax is wearing armor and has a gun yet he doesn't use that gun at all effectivly?! I though vastra came across as manipulative and vindictive with the way she treated people?! Clara seems to have changed personality...I'll be interested to see how that develops. The plot was a rehash of girl in the fireplace. I would have liked more on the doctor and less of the 'side plot'. I'm intregued by who missy is..looking a bit mary poppins-ish to me. lol! Is there perhaps a mechanical theme....

Actually I'm more impatient to see who gets announced as guest for Winter LFCC.

My cosplay is evolving as I go along. lol! Started off with one concept and I keep tweaking elements as I find I have/haven't got materials in my stash. I've got the basis of a medieval type dress here. I need to add front lacing and decide on how to do the sleeves. Which are causing me troubles. I'm terrible at drafting sleeves from scratch. I am thinking of just having a longsleeved chemise underneath (Renaissance stylee) and leatherette or suede bracers. Concept 1 Concept 2

I have to say though my mum has had similar reaction to all my hobbies. lol! I just take it as normal now.

In the same way mothers keep their kids baby stuff...you see no different. My mums response to telling her I was paying for a photo...'you can invite them back for tea for that price'. lol!

HI so I'm making a fem medieval hawkeye cosplay...and I need a bow and arrow to complete the look. I thought about just buying a toy one? Or making one. How do you all transport yours? Especially when it comes to public transport.

Well as they aren't cramming in 100 guests plus stan lee...I think it should be ok.

I'm waiting for big guests to be announced as I don't want to have to pay 2 sets of postage if someone I want to see gets announced after I buy entry.

My mum doesn't object to me going...she just makes 'are you sure' comments about my cosplay outfits. lol! I think she thinks its a waste of time and money to make something I'll only wear once a year. I had to explain its improving my sewing skills so its not a waste.

I haven't seen any of the stargate spin offs yet. Just worried I'd be dissapointed (like I was with Torchwoods spin off from doctor who, although I loved sarah jane adventures).

I was just wondering, is there space to hang out outside (take a break/cosplay photos/have lunch etc.) olympia like at earls court?

So on my list of cosplays, Lady Penelope, Timelord(lady) and I'm thinking something stargate-ish. Any ideas for a civilian stargate cosplay? I was thinking egyptian (at least it would be cool in the hot weather.)...then I just need someone to follow me round with a giant fan (any volunteers?).

So I used to watch it every sunday on channel 4 round my nan's house...she was a fan I believe (yes really). Then they stopped showing it on c4 so I managed to get a few dvds before we finally got cable tv and I could watch it on sky only for them to be showing a different season to what I'd got up to. Anyway what I'm saying is first time round I watched episodes all in the wrong order and I think I got up to end of season 8 then gave up trying to find the right episodes in all the higgldy piggldlty reruns. Recently due to being really bored one day caught the 'best of' all day reruns of stargate and it reminded me how I liked the series. I'm now wondering should I just buy season 9 & 10 rather than trying to guesstimate when they'll show them on sky? Dr Jackson is my fave character on it...

Well I'm just waiting to see who gets announced. I'll probably go both days its just whether I get earlybird or standard. I'm looking forward to trying a quieter con as LFCC was so frantic.

I only managed 1 photoshoot and 2 talks.

I think I'm leaning towards going to the cardiff comiccon more...purely because... 1) I can make it into a holiday and visit dr who stuff 2) There seems to be more doctor who guests there than others 3) I can book entry tickets. If I learned anything from lfcc its PRE-BOOK EVERYTHING.

With london I can hop on the train and an all day railcard costs me less than a hotel (If you can find a hotel for less than £20 a night in london then your better than me. lol)....anything further afield involved lots of money and military style planning. Is there a reason why collectormania has no entry fee/prebook? I'd hate to turn up and not be able to get in. Currently pondering on trying MK collectormania or cardiff film and comicon next year.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I was just looking and wondering if I needed to have different plans if I went to a collectormania rather than a comicon if that makes sense?:)
