I think this all sounds fair and in line with other major US Conventions where they have individual VIP packages for specific guests. At the very least, no one will turn up on the day and be disappointed - you can plan in advance and purchase the best experiences you can afford or want. Definitely happy that this more familiar US system is being adopted for LFCC. Good Luck with securing top guests and looking forward to it! Roll on Summer 2015

Sorry but your solution will not create less demand at the autograph lines - epic fail I'm not talking about the autograph line, I'm talking about crowd control. The VQ system still works in my opinion. People who use phrases like 'Epic fail' and think it's clever make my blood boil, is this your idea of us fan sticking together is it? how is it any different to ....Jeez, its not rocket science! are you calling us/me and possibly showmasters stupid? where is the respect there?

At those prices, Like Buzz he might be busy in the morning. But I recommend him bringing a crossword for the afternoons. I doubt he will be any less popular - again you seem to have a deep bitterness about price

Actually, at the current rate, that is GBP 43.85, so still cheaper. Plus $60 entry ticket and $5 for the photo so not cheaper at all

Thanks Robert. The price is $65 which is £38.02. This is their autograph service, so perhaps the show fee will be even less. Plus $20 entry fee, plus £850 to fly to LA!

It’s a myth that American prices are higher. In many cases they are consistently cheaper. For example Stan is 15-20 pounds cheaper during an appearance in the next couple of weeks, and the volume of autographs sold will be vastly smaller than it was in London. You claim it’s because of airfares, but an airfare between 2,000 – 3,000 people really isn’t that much of a difference. Airfares and hotels are also fairly consistant, year on year. (Again, you and I have no knowledge of how much it costs to rent an arena) Please back up your claims with some figures. back up your myth theory with numbers Stan Lee was way more expensive in the big apple in October 13. $75. He lives in LA so the reason he might be cheaper at that show is there are no international flights to factor in. however he is $65 for autograph which is £41.60 Hardly any difference! Have you actually attended a US con? if not you have no idea! I have attended 11 in the last 2 years in the states. They advertise prices far lower than they end up being. one example Dean Cain at a recent US con in April: $40 autograph on 10x8. $60 on larger item. $80 on a premium item such as a cape or statue. Photo op (TAKEN WITH YOU OWN PHONE/CAMERA) at his table $60!!! SHOWMASTERS PRICES ARE FLAT WITH NO EXTRA FOR DIFFERENT ITEMS.......we are far far better off here at UK conventions. I have said all I can on these issues, if people don't understand and just want to make stuff up then I am also OUT. I have nothing further to say on the whole issue other than I hope everyone gets what they can afford.

Nice, real nice!Just to be clear only on the most prestigious guests such as Stan Lee or other A/B list actors......there is only a limited amount of time and if say 5000 people want to meet person 'X' and there will only be enough time for 1000 to do so - then I simply would put the price of 'X' higher to limit the amount .....its called supply and demand. In effect this is exactly what happened with Stan Lee, Dealers, Gold Pass and Silver who pay a premium to be there got all they needed. So that's what was done for this event it just wasn't taken on board by attendees (despite SM warnings that the higher passes would give you the chance). Then at least people would know if you turn up on the day you would have virtually no chance of getting guest 'X' So not putting the entry price up, not putting the regular guest price up.....just the top few guests. This has been done at many events.....I paid £250 auto and £255 photo for Stallone.....many more wanted it, but there was not enough time, so higher price takes one section of the queue out of the mix. This isn't a new idea....think airplane seats, 14 First, 72 Business, 40 Premium, 300 economy.........THIS IS HOW THE WORLD WORKS.......I'm just being a realist. 'so higher price takes one section of the queue out of the mix.' Yeh people on low incomes who save through the year to go to an event like this and have as much right as anyone else to meet guests. People with families trying to get by. Students who struggle on part time jobs. People with disabilities who rely on saving part of their benefits month after month to come, people living off national pensions, people who have to consider what they are going to have to give up for a little while in order to come to comic con. People just like some of the people on this forum who have to budget and save and scrimp. People who are just as much a fan as you are. I cannot believe that anyone would openly suggest that this is the right idea moving forward. At the end of the day if you cannot afford to fly first or business class you can still buy an economy seat which is a guarantee that you will be on that flight. Out charging a majority of people who come to your event DOESN'T make business sense. The answer here is better organisation. NOT taking away the chance for people poorer than you to meet the people they love and admire. This is an experience that should be open to all NOT just the privileged few. I think you missed my point - I'm saying a Stan Lee type guest would be first class and you can still get you economy £15 guests as per normal. Plus airlines oversell as a policy so no a ticket does not guarantee you a seat!!! Really? So those on a lower income only deserve to see less famous guests?!? I suppose it is our own fault for not being able to get higher paid jobs.... how dare we expect equal opportunities to see our heroes..... Would you like a use my shovel to keep digging? Actually don't worry, you can afford to buy a bigger one to keep digging this hole.... So you are naïve enough to think that there is equality in the world? People don't deserve to get less than another....but if you can't afford an Aston Martin you can't say at the dealership "please can I have one because I deserve it!" Thank you for the offer of the shovel, but I have a groundskeeper with a JCB. (I jest of course!) This is a business not a charity - remember it is your 'heroes' as you put it who have agents and have decided upon prices in order to cover logistical costs and MAKE MONEY. The fan argument doesn't wash with me........in fact a number guests prefer dealers.......because this is an income for them and the more they sell the more they make. I think its great and I would do exactly the same if someone was willing to buy my autograph. I will not apologise for being successful and having disposable income. If the price is higher then it will naturally control numbers.....better off people might not want to pay £100 for an autograph BUT a less well off person can still save up so my idea excludes nobody just limits the 'willing' and therefore might make the event more manageable. plus a lot of people come to the event and spend nothing other than the entry ticket....now they are in my/our way just sucking up air & space for people who want/need autographs, photo ops and collectables. I wish some people would not just sit around on the floor doing nothing - go home and have a chat don't block queues by sitting on the floor.

Not what I said was it....I didn't even go for Stan Lee as I had already met him, but limiting by price doesn't stop 'poor people' as YOU labelled them. As somebody pointed out you can save up :-) Plus who actually thinks it's acceptable for people on benefits to be spending money on this sort of stuff.... I sure don't! That's not where OUR taxes should be going is it. Nobody was in my way - I had no issues over the whole weekend, got everything done, it was too hot in there though! I was offering a suggestion on a control method - once again to be CLEAR I have and had no problems with entry, photo ops, autographs and I had a fantastic time.

Heaven forbid that anyone thinks the ordinary fans are supposed to be the lifeblood of the show. Personally I've been lucky and never found myself stuck behind a dealer. Ok they're there to make money and maybe pay a lot for a stall but I thought they were there to sell things, not take up huge amounts of time getting endless streams of stuff signed to flog on at inflated prices. I think there should be a limit on how many items they can take through like anyone else. Maybe give them a bit of extra leeway given what they pay for a stall, but surely that's their choice in order to try and sell things, not get 30 or more items a time signed when others can only get a maximum of 5. Maybe there's a genuine fan with lots of money who'd like to get that much signed too but can't. The ordinary fans are restricted to try and get as many through as possible but why should dealers be allowed to take as many things as they can carry and hold everyone else up? I paid £195 for a gold pass so why can't I get more things signed in one go than a normal entry person if I want? I paid a lot for that too. I'm playing devils advocate here, throwing the arguments out there as I see it from both sides. Maybe dealers should hand their items over at the start of the show and the guest can sign them along with other pre-orders during downtime or when a crew member takes a small number through at regular intervals over the weekend to minimise impact etc. I actually agree with you - dealers should have the same limits as the fans and only able to get 5 per VQT

Dealers are the lifeblood of the show, without the individual table fees of anything from £200-£1000 approx plus purchasing thousands of autographs between them........that's a huge revenue stream for the show......if they weren't there then prices would rise for all of us attendees - have a think about that....do the math and rethink your serious negativity towards them.
