Hiya Ive been adding my own avatar, hence me looking like im here, when Im actualy on another web site. Hows you?

Well I have not progressed with my costume since my long post about it. I did get a few more materials though, just two belts and latex glue to get. I still need to finish hemming my cloak, painting my broach, and starting my jerkin, vambraces, and Baldric (too much to do too little time!!! Im in my final year at uni and trying to fit this in too AHHHHHHHHHH) (Composes my self, takes deep breath) Im ok LoL Im looking forward to seeing the army of Arwens, will be cool. well work to do, Im off

Does anyone know where I can find better pictures of Merry in his armour, Im hoping to start it this week and Im not sure of the patern on his Jerkin or his wrist thingies (cant think of the word at the mo) Thanx

well I dont know about sites for fabric, I get all mine from highstreet shops, but this site is good for all lotr costume research, tips, paterns (I recomend the cloak patern just make the head hole bigger than they say) etc they also recomend sites for sertain things, or can do if you contact them www.alleycatscratch.com/lotr/ whatever it is, if its vaguely LOTR related this is a must see site for costumes N x

liquid latex can be got from most hobby shops, I got mine from Hobby Craft.

Well I had a few ideas about hobit feet, dunno what Im doing yet though. Idea1 Dip toes in latex up to the front of ankle. Remove. put on tights/ stockings/ pop socks. dip whole of the feet in latex to ankle, each layer not as far as preceding. Remove stockings. Stitch or glue toe casts to the end of the stocking latex, to give longer feet. using needle thred each hair from a pack of dolls hair, and knot (just dotting them around the toes, and the ankle joint etc) Get shoe inner soles,(or similar) and attach to bottom of the hobit feet, to help prevent latex waring through the sole. Idea 2 (cause my latex has dried out) get see through, or skin coloured (can be painted) flip flops and replace toe trap with see though cord. This means that you can go bare foot but have protecton for the feet. Idea 3 make toupes (i think thats how its spelt) for the feet using netting, or special wig netting, and thredding hair through using a croche hook. Im sure I had anouther idea but I cant think of it, If I have time I want to do my first idea, although the way things are looking I may end up bare foot. N x

Ive got well underway on my costume, Im doing Merry in his Rohrim armour. Ive orderd an excelent mixed colour wig,Ive made my cloak from excelent grey fabric using a patern from a website (cant remember the address right now) Ive also got my Hobit tousers and long sleaved grey top sorted. I know how Im making my red leather armour, just need to get the leather this weekend, and a couple of belts for the Baldric (or whatever its called), and a couple of large rings for it too. when thats done just my gauntlets to figure out. Ive also started work on the leaf broach, Ive cuttle fish cast it from copper (you carve the design in to the cuttle fish, bind it to a tile, and pour in moulton copper) Im gonna solder the wire tipe bits on, then get it silver plated. Im using green humbrel on it as cast copper cannot be enameled ( I wanted it to be so good too) My freind is going as Pippin in his Gondorian armour. My sister is going ad Gladrial, so Im making her broach, it is a little larger than it should be. (Ive saw pierced the design from sheet copper, which I will get silver plated too, The central jewel is a large circular mirror which has been painted in perlesent humbrel, it will be inserted after silver plating. I was gonna make chainmail, I was gonna wrap wire round a steel rod, in a spiral, then cut allong to make rings. That would be soooooooooooo cool, I wanna meet Paul McGann and Tom Baker. How cool would it be to have Sylvester McCoy as well cause you could get him and Paul on that picture of Sylvester giving the TARDIS key to Paul. It would also be cool to get Paul to sign a picture of him from Withnail and I!

I thought about doing a LOTR costume last time, I even got the wig to be Arwen, but as you may have notest Me and my friend did Jay and silent Bob. I may use the Arwen costume this time, although I also want to go as Marwood, my friend as Withnail, and my sister as Danny (all from Withnail and I) we just need a Withnail coat if anyone has any ideas.

I met Elijah and Saun, and my freind (dressed as Jay [i was Silent Bob]) got me Dom's I also got Michael Keeting. I had the best day of my life on Sunday!!! I did not manage to get tickets for Elijah, Saun and Dom by such a close margin. So thankyou to the lady we spoke to about the Goonies who gave me and Jay a ticket for Saun, we both got through on one ticket (dont ask me how!). Thankyou to the student film crew who got autographs from Elijah for us and also the two men who had got a ticket each for Elijah when their wives got thiers and gave them to us so we could see him. And thankyou to the person who sold us a ticket for £5 to see Dom (is it realy fair to sell people tickets when they got them for free!!) only Jay met him but I got his autograph. When we were in the Michael Keeting queue Elijah came back from a break, spotted me and Jay and shouted "Jay and Silent Bob you rock!!" and then when we met him we were introduced to him as Jay and Silent Bob and he said "Jay and Silent Bob! Yessss" and half stood up like he had been wanting to cheakout our costumes close up all day!! We had a toy monkey with us (see Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back movie) which we gave to Elijah, he was realy pleased and hugged the monkey while we got a picture of him!!!! Thankyou for organising this event I had such an eccelent day I would realy like to meet Billy Boyed at the next one as I had Elijah, saun and Dom sign a picture of the 4 hobbits and I want the full set (this was the first one I went to) and my sister says she would like to meet Arogorn. By the way I do not think any of the attendents i met stepped out of line It must have been a verry stressful job keeping so many overexcited and disapointed people happy, and organized.
