  1. Then you've been to the wrong parties? Look, I'm not that fussed about it; I just want to know what everything comes with so I can budget. If I have to decide between a talk and a party, for instance, and I doubt I'm the only person here who can't or won't just keep buying more and more stuff--it's fine, things cost what they do and I'm okay with not doing all of it, but there's really no need to be condescending about how much equipment and djs and the like cost. I'm well aware of that, but really just wanted an answer to the question. If the answer is 'nothing but walking in the door', you could have just said as much.
  2. Drink coupons, generally, but I want to make sure.
  3. Can someone confirm what we get for the £25 (or £40 or whatever) with the party tickets? Drinks, pictures of us with drunken friends and smearing greasepaint half-planted in a bucket of Romulan ale, a go at Klingon karaoke--you know, whatever, other than just walking in the door. Cheers.
  4. Alas, it will--I can't afford all of them and have to prioritise what I want the most, so the price of bridge shoots will decide whether I can get a captain shot at all! Postgrad here, not made of money.
  5. Okay! Am just worried that by the time they come out the captians' shots will all be booked up.
  6. Do we have any idea how much they're going to be? I am probably not the only one who has limited funds and has to figure out how best to disperse it...
  7. It might be included in the postage or something? I didn't have to pay extra VAT or anything. (Which is a relief, because it adds like three days to the process while the package sits in the Midlands somewhere waiting for the local postman to deliver the form...)
  8. I've used that seller before (off ebay from China, yes?) and they were good; actually ended up sending something better than what they'd promised. I can't actually measure myself, so it didn't work out as well as I'd hoped (the shoulders were huge) but that's really me, not them. I'll be in 2009 cadet dress uniform at least one of the days.
  9. Digital, all the way. I can print out my own copy if I want to put it up on the wall to look at--that way is much easier than the other way around.
  10. Rooms are filling up REALLY fast--the Premier Inn was out of twin rooms already when I tried to book yesterday! My friend and I are at the Novotel; it was £89/night if you do the nonrefundable advance option.
  11. Probably, 'cause I love costumes! I have a cadet's dress uniform in the 2009 film style that I'll probably be in...not sure I can be bothered to paint myself green, though, so will probably just be human.
  12. Not at all actually; they set up a booth and everyone wanders in as they feel like it/have the chance. They just attach the picture to your order as soon as they take it--they have to input the information anyway and it's easier to do it all at once. It's really no more difficult than doing it in print--I've been a photog assistant for both methods and it's really quite simple no matter how many people you have. Unless you're shooting with a polaroid and handing them the photo RIGHT THEN without taking any information, it's not any harder to include a digital. Promise.
  13. Graduation photographers manage to do it all the time; you get the digital ones almost immediately and the printed ones after. I can't imagine there will be more people at the con than my entire university's graduation ceremony. If they don't want to for whatever reason that's their business, but there's no reason at all they COULDN'T.
  14. Name: Kit Age: 32 Traveling from: west Wales Traveling with: a friend Ticket: Standard 3-day Favourite Trek: TOS Favourite Trek Actor/Actress: Leonard Nimoy (but I do rather fancy Chris Pine) Most Wanted Guest: George Takei! Favourite Other Movies/TV Shows: I just saw Avengers, so that's high on the list atm! Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings. Music: Lots of kinds! I suck at questions like this. Other Interests: I'm a postgrad; I've forgotten what having interests is like. Medieval stuff, space, and surfing, I guess!
  15. You could do something like it with green screen, though. Like the TARDIS photos at the Doctor Who Experience. :) Voted for 2009 'cause it's shiny and matches my costume, but would really be happy with any. Especially TNG, despite the soft spot in my heart for the little analogue chronometre at Sulu's station in TOS....
