  1. Not much good on a dark background though. Silver and gold are fine as long as you give them time to dry. Never had a problem in 10 years.
  2. Only went Sunday, just met Armin Shimmerman again and sat in 4 talks (Star Trek, Doctor Who, Dirk Benedict and Game of Thrones) but here's a link to my album (other shows can be found there too) and a selection of the photos I took (no cosplayers this time I'm afraid). https://picasaweb.google.com/howard.crowe/SheffieldFilmComicCon?authuser=0&feat=directlink Some examples:
  3. Recording of the talks is normally not allowed. Though people still do it.
  4. Didn't think you could get the stickers later on. Surely the whole point is that they see the item being signed and put it on for you as proof. Buying a sticker later on you could put it on anything so I didn't think it was possible.
  5. I'm just going to say no and then there's one less person in the queue in front of me It's an unanswerable question. If you don't think it's worth it, don't go. If there's people you want to meet and can deal with the queues then go. The winter event has historically been quieter than the summer one though but it will depend on guests and how popular they are.
  6. As to copyright. If you didn't take the picture or haven't bought the copyright from whoever did then it remains rhe property of the person who took it or owns the copyright, usually the TV company for things relating to shows. Printing it without permission is usually a breach of that and some online printing companies will ask if you own the copyright to any picture you send to them. Having said that, so many people do it it's unlikely anyone is going to pursue you about it as long as it's for personal use and you're not going to try and make money from it, reprint it in a publication, sell it etc. Just because an image appears on the internet doesn't mean it's available for anyone to do what they like with it. Copyright still applies.
  7. think showmaster might be able to get him for less then the price of a diamond ticket Wouldn't bet on it, he's often said he wouldn't do a signing event. Might get him for a panel to promote something but not sure about autographs.
  8. No because there are no diamond guests and as the tickets will be tailored to the specific guest there won't be any details until a suitable guest is announced. Personally I'd be surprised if they're less than £400-£500 and I expect will probably be a lot more but that's just a personal view based on the guests being discussed and what they've charged at other events.Okay, thanks so there's still plenty of time to get that amount of cash then, here's hoping that they will be able to get one or two guests that I have been asking for Well it's only my speculation. Stallone as an example charged about $395 per autograph in the US. Weaver I think was around half of that so assuming prices will be similar due to having to fly them over here and given what Jason was suggesting might be in the package, it won't be cheap. We're going way beyond the £25-£45 range people are getting used to or even the £60 that Carrie Fisher cost this year and many people I know think that's even too much for an autograph. It'll be a whole new level and I'm not sure if people are really aware of how much it'll cost to get the people they're asking for, even if they're willing to do an event and many have said in the past they wouldn't be interested. We will see but until they actually get one of these guests it's all just supposition and speculation.

  10. Personally I'd say first let them get a guest that requires one of these new passes and then they can tell us how much, exactly how it'll work and what it'll cover and answer all the questions. At the moment it's just an idea about what *might* happen. People are getting far too stressed about something that may not even happen. Patience.
  11. Is Oculus not a horror movie? Because she was scary in that. It's supposed to be but there was nothing scary about it. She was good but thought the film was pretty awful.
  12. Don't think I've seen SW that many times and I saw it in the cinema when first released, saw it the first time it was shown on TV and have owned various VHS versions, DVD and now Blu Ray. He has a valid point. By all means enjoy things, own them, be inspired by them but that's too much for a child.
  13. Then consider driving to an underground station not far away instead and just get the tube in from there. Parking will be a fraction of the cost and even with the train fare it'll be much cheaper. Friend of mine does that. Parks at Richmond. SM have nothing to do with the parking facilities/prices.
  14. All good questions. Given the likely cost I'd hope the Diamond will include the ability to join any other queue too. Doesn't seem unreasonable. I have always had a gold pass for the summer LFCC just to help but never needed one for any other SM event. But I usually make the decision after enough guests have been announced to make it worthwhile. Not sure it's going to be possible to wait this time and it's a lot of money to buy blind without knowing if you'll really need it or not. Will be keen to see what changes will apply to it too.
  15. Gold passes went up to £195 this year. To give you an idea of other costs someone on another thread said Stallone charged about $800 for autograph and photo in the US. Certainly his autograph equated to around £300+. For some of these people we're probably talking in the area of what Buzz Aldrin charges which was £350 at Autographica this year. I think someone stated that Mark Hamill was in the region of £110 or something but that may go up with his involvement in the new SW film. It's all speculation and I'm sure Jason will try and negotiate the best price (after all I've had a few people think that Stan Lee's price this year was a bit of bargain) but we're not talking about the kind of the prices we're seen at events so far. It will be very much more I have no doubt and unfortunately that's what it'll cost to get them.
  16. Read the other threads in this section people (specifically the link below). Jason has responded to suggestions people are making and it's worth reading to give you an idea of the kind of people he's thinking of. http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=85788&p=1882961
  17. Hmm. Not sure about that. I'd feel a bit weird just walking in and pushing in front of someone at the desk. I'm happy enough with how it's been up until now though I'd like for them to get rid of the autograph pack and give something of better value such as vouchers/free photoshoot or discount on one or something like that or guaranteed personalisation (if you want it) maybe. That would be a nice perk on certain occassions. But that's a whole other issue. It'll be interesting to see what revamp they come up with for all this.
  18. There's a lot of info to take in and 30 more days to mull over with more tid-bits to come before the doors open and I can see a surge to buy tickets on Sept' first. Will be interesting to see what changes they are making to the Gold passes. I for one hope they include priority queuing to both Photos and autos now and would be willing to pay a little more for that. What do you mean? Gold passes have always had priority queuing for photos and autos. Every photo I've had golds have been called first and been at the front of the queue and have just joined any auto queue. That's how gold has always worked.
  19. It's how a lot of events in the US work and unfortunately if it means getting A list guests of the calibre of Weaver or Stallone just for example, most people wouldn't afford their auto prices anyway as you'd be looking at £200-£300 each probably. But if it means getting them or not, is it not better that at least some get the chance? We'll just have to wait for final details. Maybe it would have been better to hold off saying any of this until all the details had been finalised and tickets were due to go on sale. It's just leading to more and more questions which no-one will have an answer to yet.
  20. But you won't be able to make a decision on that as it's unlikely many guests will be announced and if you wait too long things like the gold passes may sell out as a lot of people seem to just buy them as a matter of course now. I hope this Diamond thing still includes the privileges of the normal gold as it does sound like you'll be giving up a lot just to guarantee meeting that one special guest. Maybe having add-ons to the Gold that don't get you all the extras that come with the DIamond package but still get you access to the guest rather than having to replace it entirely could be considered. they did say you could upgrade your (normal) ticket to a diamond one, so maybe they're gonna have you be able to upgrade on specific people (or more people) for diamonds too? But the implication is that the Diamond thing is just around a specific guest. If you lose the ability to join any other queue too or attend any paid talk like you currently get with the Gold then you're giving up a lot of what makes the gold worth having, if you have a lot of guests to see which of course you won't know for a while yet. I look forward to full specific details of what all the options will be but can't really afford to buy any tickets for a while what with DSTL, WLFFC, HW6 and next CMMK all coming up in a short space of time.

  22. And if you upgrade a Gold pass to one of these Diamond ones do you lose the ability to join other queues? Assuming the Gold will still have this ability. And if you want more than one of these Diamond things (if there is more than one and I suspect cost will be prohibitive) you're buying entry with each one which seems a bit pointless. The assumption seems to be that you'll only want to meet this one special guest but keep in mind that people will probably still want to meet plenty of other guests over the weekend so please don't restrict that for the sake of one special guest. I'd give up meet & greet type stuff if it meant still having priority access to other guests too. Sounds like this still some thought put into it. Also part of the problem is that big guests are often not announced until nearer the show by which time things like Gold passes are often sold out. I can't afford to buy one blind this far in advance. With something like DSTL the guests have been pretty announced before tickets go on sale so you can make a more informed choice about what you consider best value and what each ticket gives you. I'd imagine this won't be the case for LFCC so it's very much buying blind without knowing if you're really going to need that pass or not. Tough choices. Lot more clarification needed from my point of view.
