  1. Dame Diana has to be the biggest influence and icon I've had throughout my life (I'm 24 so watched repeats and videos!) which only just hit me when I first stepped up to meet her and she took my hand which resulted in me crying as I was so incredibly nervous and happy - unfortunatley this meant I was useless at having the photo done and though we tried a couple of times I just couldn't even when she put her arm around me so she asked her friend to get me a chair so I could wait for the others to have their photo done and leave and then I could try again which thankfully worked and I'll treasue the photo and memory (even if somewhat embarrassing!) forever. I was also very touched when she asked if I had recovered when I went to get my autograph. I can't express how amazing and wonderful it was to have someone I have looked up too my whole life to not only meet my high expectations but actually exceed them! During the time when I sat at the side whil other photos were being done I had a chat with the lovely gentleman who was accompanying Dame Diana and was wondering if anyone knows who he is? If not for him and Pooks (who was amazing) I think I would have become even more nervous!
  2. T'was a pleasure Lizzy! Glad you were ok:) ( I was the one sitting next to Diana!) Hi to your other half as well! Pooks x Hello! (from both of us!) I just wanted to say a huge thank you again - you were amazing and it meant so much to me, I don't think I would have got through I otherwise! Take care Lizzy
  3. I'm exactly the same - she really was fantastic and lovely and if not for her I think nerves about meeting Diana would have got the better of me!
  4. Excellent! I personally think that Bluewater is a great location, especially with the new conference hall, good parking and plenty to go and do while waiting (also a good selection of restaurants!)
  5. Alex Kingston Nicola Bryant Colin Baker
  6. This was my first big event and I was very impressed (even after the disappointment of not seeing Alex Kingston) I couldn't thank the crew enough - especially those around Diana Rigg who were marvelous! (I panicked about the photo but everyone there was so incredibly lovely) Thank you so much!
  7. Oh no! Alex Kingston was the reason I wanted to go! I can't get a refund for other guests can I? Can I cancel the Dr Who talk tickets? So, so disappointed!
  8. Hi! I've not really done this before and not sure what to do about asking for Diana's autograph for I wanted to get the limited Emma Peel card signed and stamped as well as my Limited edition 39 DVD set of the Avengers signed so do I need to go up twice?
  9. Maybe because I'm still tramaurised by public speaking from school I just wanted to check that it's not compulsory to ask a question? (i.e be forced to stand and ask something infront of Everyone!) Sorry about the childishness of that question! Also I got tickets to the Doctor Who talk with numbers 7 and 8 but it seems that from posts on here that the numbers don't mean anything - is it on a first come first serve basis?
  10. No need to worry, with that ticket number you will probably be out before the session with Alex even starts. Thanks so much! Roughly how long does it take to have the photo done? Can more than one be done a minute?
  11. Hi! I'm sorry about these (probably silly!) questions but I was wondering if the time between guests indicates the length of the photoshoot? I was a little worried for I have Diana Rigg (ticket numbers 50 and 51) at 1:35 and Alex Kingston (ticket numbers 7 and 8) at 2:00 so was worried I won't get to Alex in time?
  12. Do I need to pre book autographs too then? I though that was done on the day?
  13. I got my ticket today - number 7 apparently! I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but do the numbers on the ticket actually determine a place in the line or are they just to see how many tickets are sold?
  14. Virtual tickets are only used for the busier guests to keep the length of the autogrpah queue for that guest to a managable size. The tickets are sequentially numbered. Each guest that has the sytem in place will have a unique set of tickets. you collect a ticket and can join the queue for that guest anytime after your number has been called. For example, it will start with 1-30 (or similar) being able to queue, then 1-50, 1-75, etc. It enables you to wander off and do other things instead of hanging around. Thanks very much! Do I buy te tickets at the beginning of the day?
  15. Sorry about this again but I was wondering more specifically about autographs now! Are Virtual tickets the only tickets that can be used to get te autographs with or are they some kind of special ticket?
  16. Hello, you can bring your own if you wish. There will be a selection of free 10"x8" images for those that don't have anything to get signed. Additionally there will be various dealers at the event who will have images for sale. Thanks! Now I have the tricky choice of deciding what photo then or whether to see what's on offer there! So excited now! Thanks again!
  17. Hi! Sorry for these 'newbie' questions but I was wondering about the autograph session and whether I can bring a photo of Alex from home or if I can buy one there?
  18. Ah ok, thanks! As I'm going prioritise the photos hopefully the posted schedule will sort out any concerns then. I was also wondering that when I get to the venue, how is the relevant information displayed?
  19. Many thanks for all the help! I was mostly concerned about the photo opportunities and missing my allotted time but providing it is 1-100 then 1-200 and so on it seems to have removed a lot of worry! I'm so excited/scared about meeting Alex Kingston and Diana Rigg I may not understan a grey deal on the day! Thanks again, Lizzy
  20. Hi! I'm sorry if this has already been asked but this is my first big convention (I went to a Buffy one in Brighton about 8 years ago) and I'm not sure how the tickets work - so far I've got ones for Alex Kingston and Diana Rigg for the Saturday with the early bird entry ticket but other than that I'm a little stuck? I've heard about virtual tickets and your given a number from a certain group but is there a way to make sure I'm not in 1-100 for Alex Kingston and the same for Diana Rigg incase they are held at the same time? Many thanks Lizzy
  21. Hi! This is my fist 'big' convention and I've just got my tickets to meet Alex (and Diana Rigg)- I'm so, so excited. I love River Song so much...and not just because of her awesome hair!
