  1. Yep, met him and got an autograph - also saw him at the talk - very funny. He was in his "Todd" get up for the day. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1...e=1&theater here's a few more, i've still to upload some others. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.4...71684.773553171
  2. just wanted to ask where do all the offical pictures taken at the event go? i noticed i got my photo taken a few times at a couple of the talks. i'd love to see a few of the pics taken by everyone else too.
  3. Why didn't you go up and say hi? maybe they will be there again tomorow. but in anycase i belive that girl is part of the group of ladies who call themselfs Trekbabes. On a simular note i did talk with and get a photo with a female ghostbuster, though i forgot to ask her name - if anyone knows who she is it would be a great help.
  4. Lets not forget he was in Mortal Kombat too as Lord Rayden, god of thunder and lightning! AND protector of the Earth realm. Plus he gets one of the best lines in the movie; "One of you three will determine the outcome of the tournament. The fate of billions depends upon you, heh, heh, heh! ...sorry."
  5. Please god let there be some SuckerPunch girls this year!
  6. Any manga/anime fans on this board? I'm a huge Alita fan myself, i'm also into Dirty Angels, Ranma 1/2, Parasyte, Lone Wolf & Cub, Street Fighter and all the Hayao Miyazaki films
  7. Thanks man, I’m glad you appreciate it. Though I don't expect everyone to like all or even some of the films, I’m sure there are people out there that would tell you each and every one of them suck - yet that is the point of that list, they all have there flaws and downfalls but give them a chance and allow yourself to be immersed in there story and that's when the magic happens, before you know it you'll have a smile on your face just remembering about some scene that's lodged itself in your psyche. So on that grand note I’d ask to give the gem that is LadyHawke another chance, it is basically a romance story at heart though you have the fantasy element to keep it interesting; In medieval Europe a thief called "The Mouse" escapes the dungeons of Aquila, setting in motion a chain of events that may save or destroy a beautiful woman and a brave captain. The two lovers are doomed to lifelong separation by a demonic curse invoked by the corrupt and jealous Bishop of Aquila: by day Isabeau is transformed into a hawk, while at night Navarre becomes a wolf so that nether ever sees the other apart from as a beast. It's worthwhile noting that it's also directed by Richard Donner in 1985, and stars Matthew Broderick, Rutger Hauer and Michelle Pfeiffer. Be Well!
  8. I've decided not to be part of the competition itself - mainly because i'm buying the majority of the costume and that I think I prefer to skulk around rather than parade myself in front of folk.
  9. i think it would be cool to see an overall showcase of what you have done, your latest stuff and where you hope to take the story in the future.
  10. In no particular order, here are ten of my treasured cult classics that shine despite all the odds: Krull, Forbidden Planet, Dick Tracy, Clash of The Titans (1981), LadyHawke, The Day The Earth Stood Still (1951), Mortal Kombat, Critters, Galaxy Quest, The Rocketeer.
  11. Before I make my suggestion, I would just like to say I’ll be happy with whoever decides to come along this year - and that I’m sure Showmasters do their upmost to make each event enjoyable and fun, and I know my enjoyment of the event will not be ruled on whoever the guests are, though they can potentially help to make it that bit more memorable. I highly doubt it - I know I for one would love to see any of the cast from 3rd Rock, though John Lithgow would be my top choice. Personally if I could choose any guest it would have to be Tom Hardy. Filmography includes, Black Hawk Down, Star Trek - Nemesis, Layer Cake, Bronson & currently best known for his role as "Eames" in Inception. AND most importantly has been chosen by Nolan to play the role of "Bane" in the highly anticipated final instalment of The Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises. This would be a dream come true if we could ever hope to get this guy.
  12. Thanks for the welcome ann, i allready have a few bits and peices for my costume. I'm still uncertain if i'm going to enter the competition or not, i've been kinda put off after watching some vids - how is this judged, is it more about what you do rather than what you wear? [insert "it's not who am i, it's what i do" quote here]
  13. Hey looking forward to going to this years event as it'll be my first time going to Collectormania, though i've been to a few conventions before I think the last time was at a Collectables in SECC a good many years back. Anyway i thought i would start this with style and go as "Bank Heist" Joker from The Dark Knight, to be slightly different. (in the hope any others go as varying interpretations of the charater) Other than being a bad joke about boobs and a reference to spherical glowing light, I believe that this could lend itself to the film Solarbabies (also known as Solarwarriors)
