Can I come? I'll be needing food anyway and meeting up with a whole bunch of fellow Twilight fans sounds really cool...and a lot of fun Convention newbie here and I've never been to Birmingham before either so I don't have a clue where the restaurants are

I'm short and like to stroll and can confirm it's really not much more than that. Brilliant I'm 5'6" (probably taller than average for a girl, 5'4" is the average, right? ) and quite a fast walker so it looks like I'll arrive at the hotel in about 15 minutes, I'm coming from the train station

3 minutes or just over 10...either's fine My FB friend is saying the NEC is off the motorway and you can't walk to the hotel, but I don't see a motorway on that map!

I have another question...how long does it take to walk to the Hilton from the NEC? (And vice versa) A Facebook friend of mine who's been to other conventions there said it's quite a distance and that you can take a taxi...

You can get a bus as well but the train would be easier if you're already at the station, they run about every 7-10 minutes and cost less than £5 for a return ticket Cool, thanks for that :) My hotel is about 5 minutes walk from New St. station so it's great that the trains are so often...at least I'll be able to get out to the hotel easily :)

That's fine then :) My passport photo was taken when I was 16 and I don't really look like me in it - long hair tied back in a pleat (I have short hair now), sombre expression and I look about 13! (I actually hate that pic) So I'll take a bank statement along as well just to be on the safe side

Nope it must've been a different Scottish Julia Will I get a confirmation email from Yvie responding to the details I missed out when I booked the ticket? I sent it yesterday but no reply yet...it'd just be nice to know if the order's A.OK :)

Hmm, my passport is out of date...but that's the only photo ID I have at the moment! Surely they'd still accept that though? It's 3 years out of date...I'm really worried I won't get in now!

LOL, I'll have to get up really early (like 7am) so I can get the train out to the NEC, walk to the Hilton and register before 9am What would happen if I didn't register before then?

Well I tried, but there were none left I've booked a room at the nitenite hotel in the city centre instead, it's near New St. station so it'll be easy for me to get the train out to the NEC. Just means I won't be able to go to the parties for long :S

When I saw Peter had moved his signing date I got a weird feeling...I was originally planning to wait to see if he'd be announced but time is ticking on. If he was announced at the last minute it would've been too late for me so I decided I was just gonna go...I know I'll have a brilliant time anyway! Is there a train from Birmingham New Street station - the one my train from Glasgow would be coming into - to the NEC or would I need to get a bus instead? I'll be printing out this map, lol

I haven't booked the room yet but I need to transfer some money from another account to my current account first I'll be booking this week though :) Planning on coming back home on the Monday afternoon...don't really like the idea of coming back on a Sunday tbh. I forgot to fill in the ticketholder name thing on the booking form though, what do I do?

Hello! I'm Julia (age 30), I'm a newbie here and a newbie to conventions - this one will be my first and I'm travelling down from Scotland so I'm a bit nervous. I just bought a silver pass a few minutes ago :) Hoping that Peter Facinelli will end up being one of the other guests (he moved a signing he was doing to March so there's the possibility he could be a guest) as I'm crazy about him Even if he isn't there it'll still be brilliant fun!!
