  1. Other than Hub and HW I've only been to the collectormania before. I guess it might also be a matter of space. You have more space to set up a picture-picking table at the CM that people can walk past on their way to the signing. The space at HW was rather limited as it was (with so many people lining up, combined with the slight disadvantageous location of the doors) so I guess things would have been even more cramped than they were. Ah well... it's always a suggestion for following conventions. Most of the time I tend to bring my own stuff to be signed. The picture thing also goes for James and Nick, I might add (at least from my perspective). So it is a Buffy-con why pack in a pic that is about 10 years old?
  2. I think most of the filming is done for the live feeds on the screens more than anything else. Ah yeah... totally forgot about those. I hardly ever look at them although with my bad eyesight, I should Want to see the guys "first hand", so to speak, even it's blurry
  3. Yes please!!! Why would they even film it if it never saw the light of day in the end? One would assume they ask the stars beforehand if they agree, right?
  4. That might be an option. Though having to buy the pics extra might make some people shy away from getting the autograph altogether. Might be easier if you had a selection to choose from like they did at the CM or with Kai Owen surprise visit at the Hub. You pay for the autograph (that is, if it isn't included like it was at HAllowhedon or if you want an extra one) and as walk up to the guest, you can pick a photo that you would like to have signed. And I do agree that I rather would have had a different pic of beery!Leary. They had such a nice headshot in the booklet.
  5. We wouldn't need those if people actually read the FAQ/How Things Work post, now would we? At least, when I asked my question, I was amongst the first when there weren't three gazillion thread like that around
  6. Ah no worries. I'm used to ppl overlooking me and your red hair and the green bag just stood out. I tried to make eye contact and grin at you a couple of times before but you were usually looking the other way or me and my friends were just on our way somewhere else. Oh, I have the worst way, don't I? People always think I'm being rude but I just don't recognize them right away or I'm just scanning the crowd without actually looking. But it worked out right in the end :)
  7. Finally got time to post a little something. I only attended the con for James so after the downer last week at the Hub, this was an overall great experience. Despite his injury and the obvious pain he was in, he pulled through which I think not many people would do. It was also great to meet the other stars. I especially hold Mark very dearly. He's such a doll and a laugh. He asked us as we were standing outside the hotel where the organizers were. We also ran into him at the Sheraton (where we stayed) and he said hi and gave us this big grin which I think is just cute We've met him before at the Collectormania and he's one of those stars you like to see again because they are fun guests. Also liked the fact that he remained standing at the group talk (probably to make James feel less uncomfortable for not sitting down) I wasn't too impressed by Mercedes, though. She seemed kind of distant at the autographs and the photoshoots which makes me always feel kind of unwanted. Anyway.... There is just only one thing I'd like to point out that I wasn't too happy with. The slight miscommunication about splitting up multiple photos. This had been discussed on the board prior to the event. It was most of us Gold and Silver holders who were confused about it. It had been said (and taking the experience at the Hub into account as well) that we could go back in for another photo on the next day. TooTall confirmed it on here but the members of the crew gave us contradictory information. I understand that they were concerned not everybody would get through on time, given it was very likely for people to get more than photo with James. So when we asked again, we were told we could only go in with our groups. Since I had been reading the thread on there and even commented on TooTall's post, I asked him in person again and he said it was no problem to go in on the next day. So depending on who you asked, you were given different information. And it was also contradicted the info given on the sheets throughout the hotel where it said you didn't need to go with your group but had to wait for your number to be called. So yeah... I would have understood the "go with your group" policy but I would have appreciated if that had been pointed out (say, at the opening ceremony). Otherwise, it would have been helpful to get the same info from all of the crew members. This is it for my feedback. I enjoyed the event and if you decide to bring James back for another one, I will definitely try to come over again :) And mind if I add a quick shout-out for Debbie (I think that's her name). Thanks for recognizing and recognizing me and for the nice chats while queueing :)
  8. I don't have a favorite quote. My first big laugh was: "That's a big rock. I have to tell my friends about this. They don't have rocks that big." Besides that, the "Touched" pep-talk has got to be in the Top10.
  9. The parties are not mandatory so you can come and go as you like. I doubt that anyone will find it anti-social, given that you also have a damn good reason to leave earlier. Plus I'm sure people who will have their photos taken in the morning (depending on the schedule) might not stay all that late and catch a little bit of beauty-sleep
  10. Taking the schedule into account, no longer than half an hour. Depends on how much there is to say. :)
  11. Ah... that's what I thought. Thanks for clearing that up.
  12. Oh, the tears that were cried during that one... It's the right mixture of drama and a teensy bit of comedy...
  13. It's from Jaws. :) Now that you mention it, I might have to re-watch that ep as I love that quote It's amazing. It's just, completely unnecessary, completely inaccurate, and it's great! Absolute classic Xander! I constantly quote that on the week of class when the profs are oh so surprised how many people show up and how packed the room always is. So I wouldn't say it's inaccurate Not to you, perhaps But you know what I mean! It's just like, completely un-needed. But it's brilliant. Like the old famous Blackadder quote, 'I have a plan so cunning, you could brush your teeth with it'. It's just silly. But it's perfect! Guess that's the whole point of these kind of references. They are not needed but make things all the more fun. My favorite moment is probably Spike's pep talk in "Touched". I'm a Spuffy shipper and that one had me in tears. As for Angel, the part in "Destiny" when Spike tells Angel that he fought for his soul. It literally had me yell my agreement at the screen.
