I remembered enjoying the old avp games on pc a lot and bought the first one, but on my pc it refused to work, due to being quite old I guess, so i then got the second, which works fine! However got it second hand and the booklet wasnt included. Which is a pain as I cannot unlock any doors! can anyone remember how? I use the small computer thing the marines use, but it doesnt seem to do anything to the control panels next to doors... so Im not getting very far! haha

Try doing a search online for the manual. When you say you cant open doors do you mean you dunno what key to press or do you mean they are locked? You only use the hacking device if the yellow icon comes up over the lock when you point the cross-hair over it.

Yeah, you get like a yellow box over the control panel, I then use that machine like you would a gun, pressing the mouse button, but no matter how long I hold it, the doors wont open, which makes no sense... Ill look for a manual online, cheers for the idea.

Ah no worries, after pressing near every button on the keyboard i found out how to open doors... which also flips open locked doors to reveal cables which you can then use the hacking device on. Sorted!
Playing this game last night, I forgot how much suspense it achieves, even if it is dated a little. the games every bit as terrifying as the movies! Especially if your walking around some dark corridor, knowing theres aliens about.... anbd your flash light runs out of battery. ha

Not that the games arent fun but I really wish they'd give the FPS a rest when it comes to Aliens games - I really wanna see a decent 3rd person shooter....something in the style of Hitman would be great for the series but the developers are too obsessed with trying to make the games scary.
The thing I hated about AvP2 was that we never got to fight enough Preds...they were always only one or two to fight against and only if you were a marine.

Gotta disagree - I far prefer FPSes to TPSes, especially in terms of environmental immersion in the likes of the Aliens universe.
AVP1 was outstanding, and 2 was almost as good overally, with brilliant multiplayer.
The third one looks like it's gonna kick much booty as well :)

I hope we get to fight more preds in this one and not just end of level bosses. When's it out? BTW, I'm just surprised that so many people are still interested in FPS Aliens games. I absolutely long for a TPS...imagine one like Hitman, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Gears of War.
