danalar
I've got a signed theatre poster that I've been holding off getting a frame for, for the last 3 years... And only today decided to try get a frame for it.Got one frame from IKEA already, and ideally wanted the same type so it didn't make my room look out of place.Got the measurements, thinking it'd fit but turned out I mis-caluclated and the poster is 1.5inches too big to fit in the frame!(The NYTTJA frame from IKEA)Wondered if any of you lot knew of any places (in/around Milton Keynes or even London) or websites that sell them decently priced/cheaply?Thanks!
Marky242
If you're framing a signed poster you really want to have a matte border between frame and poster to ensure autographs are not touching the glass/perspex in case they stick. Obviously depends on how much you treasure it but I expect that as you want it framed it must be a prized possession.
Raylenth
The theatre posters are usually a bit larger so it's hard to find the right sized frame and yes, it should be mounted so it doesn't touch the glass which also adds to the size needed - anytime I've had signed items framed I've taken them to a proper framers and had them custom made. It's worth the extra expense, but it doesn't mean it has to cost a fortune. Edited August 27, 2015 by Raylenth
