  1. I've got a signed theatre poster that I've been holding off getting a frame for, for the last 3 years... And only today decided to try get a frame for it. Got one frame from IKEA already, and ideally wanted the same type so it didn't make my room look out of place. Got the measurements, thinking it'd fit but turned out I mis-caluclated and the poster is 1.5inches too big to fit in the frame! (The NYTTJA frame from IKEA) Wondered if any of you lot knew of any places (in/around Milton Keynes or even London) or websites that sell them decently priced/cheaply? Thanks!
  2. I completely sympathise with those who had a bad experience at LFCC concerning their disabilities. I felt terrible for those who were in wheelchairs, both motor and manual, being scowled at for 'taking up too much room' - It's not their fault that they have mobility difficulty. The number of people who I saw bashing into them and not apologising was disgusting. Yes, you have a shoot/signing to attend to, but at least have consideration and apologise. Unfortunately, too many people are too oblivious and only care about themselves and getting an autograph. I bumped into a couple of people in wheelchairs due to being pushed by ignorant con-goers, but I made sure that they were okay and I gave them a full apology and made sure they were okay before I moved on. As for those who were saying that other's were 'faking it' just because they are capable to walk. Disability does NOT mean mobility. It's more than just that. It's mentally and physically that are included to. Don't judge what you can't see. I'm deaf in both ears, so naturally I was going to seriously struggle hearing around LFCC due to the sheer volume that meant I was unable to understand what was being said and being instructed of others, so I was very pleased to have been offered an Extra Help pass. I explained to the staff (via my phone) that due to the volume and being deaf that I would be unable to hear them, and for them to write their responses down on paper. They were all fantastic and supportive, and pointed me in the right direction each time. I don't look 'disabled' but as soon as my hearing aids are on show, then I am. I don't take advantage. I knew I was going into a loud environment the moment I purchased my tickets, so I prepared myself to have the assistance I felt I was entitled to in order to make my day run smoothly.
  3. 8 photos, 12 autos in one day which I thought was quite good!
  4. Was lucky to bump into Rey yesterday as he was wandering around the traders area. Haven't watched wrestling in years, but loved Rey when he first made an appearance to the business. His agent/manager was so polite and allowed me to have a quick selfie with Rey in the halls! My brother got a bit envious, but sent me a request to get him an auto, so ofc I couldn't decline! He was so lovely with the fans, especially the kids - Accepting for posed photos at the signing table.
  5. I never had any problems with him - He was pretty reasonable and really polite with me, but wasn't too sure on his queue organisation... Had us queueing outside of the 'queue line' then about 5 mins before we were due to go in, he called everyone in and it got into a bit of a scramble. Thought it was a bit odd, but never saw him be rude. Must've been at a different time!
  6. Glad to hear everything went ok, I'm going tomorrow and have an email and getting the help voucher as well. Was getting slightly worried about actually going. The help voucher is such a godsend, I'll be utterly honest. Wish I could do private message on here to give you the details of how it works - But to collect it, you'll need to go by the Super Stage to get to the organisers booth, and ask for one. It does have a list of numbers with blank spaces next to them for autographs, I did ask if names had to be filled out but they informed me it was for whoever you wanted to get. Some of the volunteers did question it, but simply say you were informed it was for any guest. X (Also, notice you're from Aylesbury, I'm only in LB, so not far!)
  7. Considering it was my first time attending, I was so so pleased with how my day turned out. Was worried about getting in when I arrived at 8.20 and saw how long the queue was, but the lovely gentleman helped out after showing my email, and got in just before 9am which gave me the chance to book my on-the-day photoshoots. I didn't get many photos/autos, but got who I wanted and all the staff that I met throughout the day were so polite and helpful in all of it, even the guy who was at Photo Booth E was a star for helping me with a small photoshoot clash, but had no issues with either shoots. (only issue I had was getting to the other booth on the lower floor when the big staircase in the middle was blocking entry going downstairs!) The staff at the Organisation Booth were so polite in giving me a Help Voucher upon entry which made things run so smoothly and so much easier for my hearing difficulty. Only let down was that it was so crowded, and the signs/layout was rather confusing. Spent at least 30 mins trying to find the Delorean booth and still couldn't find it, even with asking people! Apart from that, will definitely be returning next year. Once again, thank you for such a fantastic day! X
  8. Recall seeing something about Extra Help Vouchers - Could you elaborate what this is please? Will show my email when I arrive. Thanks for your help, guys! Looking forward to it, especially as it's first time!
  9. I'm torn as to what to do regarding arrival times for tomorrow morning. Presently, I am scheduled to get there for 8.20am and I've been instructed to go to the YALC / Gold Passes queue due to my disability, but I'm worried that I'll get turned away despite having an email sent directly by Too Tall stating that I can join this queue, and my first photoshoot is scheduled at 9.30am with Tom Burke but after hearing how hectic the queues were today just for 1pm, I'm really concerned the queue will be busy and I'll miss out! Any suggestions, particularly from one of the mods? Thanks!
  10. I'm going alone. Admittedly I'm nervous, but I'm sure I'll meet plenty of new people who have the same interests as I do! (I think that adds to the fun!)
  11. hearing alot about the queues being very unorganised... getting slightly worried now and fearing i'll be turned away from the GP / YALC queue due to my disability! (and i have a shoot at 9.30!)
  12. Haven't yet come across this yet - Where is it possible to purchase tickets to the Game of Thrones talk on Saturday? Is it on the day only?
  13. Thought I'd chip on this after the tweets that were posted on the Showmasters Twitter... Yes, it's sad that guests have had to cancel due to commitments (whether it's work or health), but supporters shouldn't be giving the guests the flack. It's out of their control. Personally, if it were me and I saw supporters having a go at the guests on their social media accounts, I wouldn't allow them into the event. So disrespectful. There's always another occasion to try catch them at. (Luckily, none of my guests have cancelled as yet, but have hopes a couple of additional names will be added at the last minute.)
  14. I own one (after I made a joke about having one, and my partner went and got me one... welp!), but have never used it outside of my partners/my house I know it's frustrating, does tend to get in the way, but the good old way of asking someone else to take the photo for you, I see is a better way of meeting new people!
  15. Oh, that's epic! Definitely okay with me! (Do rely on lip-reading most of the time anyway) Even better! Please do get us all meeting up, would be lovely. Love meeting new people, especially fellow d/Deaf/HoH-ies!
  16. Yes. This. Not only does it make your day easier but the crew will like you more if you give them £5 notes. I'll be on the crew's good list, I specifically went to my bank today to take a load of cash and requested it in £5 notes!
  17. Thanks guys for speedy responses! Didn't notice the photoshoot info on the schedules, completely by-passed them. And perfect! Was worried I'd have to get one photo, then go back and join the queue. Great to know don't need to. X
  18. cheekily bumping up this post - seriously no d/Deaf/HoH goers??! Can't be the only one, surely..!
  19. Ticket: I downloaded the Eventbrite app on my phone, and can view the tickets/QD scan code, but would it be best to have them printed out or can I use my phone? Photoshoot: Couple of questions for this one! 1. I understand there are priority queues when it comes to photoshoots, but I was just wondering on my ticket it simply states Batch 1 / 2 - Roughly how long will I be waiting to get my photo? 2. I booked more photos for the same actors over different times, so am I able to get the two photos done at the same time as long as I present my two tickets that state this? (Again, they're both within the same batch) Sorry if these seem like really badly worded questions, if you're not understanding, please let me know and I'll try rephrase it better! Thanks. (PS: I am uber excited about my first comic con, gonna be awesome to meet so many people!) X
  20. Just a couple of stops away from Milton Keynes. Luckily there's a direct train that'll stop me off right outside Olympia. Very lucky to have a station that'll get me to London within an hour!
  21. I've not heard of any problems of anyone paying with a debit card as long as it has the usual chip thing. The only way to pay by card is to buy the vouchers. Only them and cash is accepted when you actually buy the autos. All the vouchers process is is that you can buy them on card at the sales desk and essentially use them as cash. Basically this means that there doesn't need to be 200 card machines (one for each guest) trying to access the network at the same time making things really slow. Ah, perfect! Both cards have the metallic chip. If I'm still confused on the day, I'll ask for clarification and pay by card, but have cash to be on the safe side. Thanks! X
  22. May have skim-read too quickly - But re the autographs... Can you pay with a DEBIT card? It's my first time attendng, but don't fully understand the 'vouchers' process, so don't want to pay with my credit card to get vouchers and be confused on the day! If not, I'll just have to take cash out before I attend and make sure I've got enough for the day. Thanks in advance x
  23. Hey! So this is my first year attending LFCC (and also my first post on here!) and as I'm deaf in both ears, I just wondered if there were any other d/D/HoH users who are also attending on the Saturday? I'm pretty much only attending for the cast of the Musketeers (Got my photos booked with Tom Burke, Maimie McCoy and Luke Pasquino already, and looking forward to it!) but having seen the schedule, I'm now in a pickle as to who else to try catch in during the day to make up the gaps! Hope someone out there is also d/Deaf/HoH - Would love to meet up with you! (Can do British sign language, but only level 2 qualified - haven't done it in a while so need to scratch up on it!) Speak soon! Danalar x
