Who was the nicest guest you have met?
dr nick riviera replied to fastandloud's topic in General chat
I've met a few, but my fave, by a country mile was Caroline Munro, just a hoot, a bit of sauce, and a giggle, and a great chat about Hammer / Bond. And also the best dedication on the picture, she was wearing thigh length boots, and it read 'These boots weren't just made for walking.....' Close second was Robert Davi from The Goonies, had a really good chat about The Goonies, Die Hard and Joe Pantoliano. -
This is interesting, because, I went to last years LFCC, as a gold ticket holder, and posted some feedback, as well as many others did. We were told at the time that Showmasters was learning from it, and these issues would be dealt with. They've evidently not, as the same issues are mentioned here, and throughout other threads. People pay alot of hard earned money to attend these events, get autos, and photos, and meet their idols. As customers, who spend money, its about a decent experience. I'll be skipping next years too at this rate, as Showmasters clearly aren't learning from experience. Maybe some new talent is needed, who understand how to run large popular events, or training for existing staff.

Clarification of Diamond and Gold Passes
dr nick riviera replied to showmasters's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2015
I'm sitting this one out, especially after the 2014 one, which was a bit of a mess. The one thing I've noticed, is that the gold diamond pass thing is causing alot of ill feeling. The simple solution would have been to announce them both at the same time, so that those who jumped in and got the gold pass earlier on, are a bit miffed at the diamond pass / VQ arrangement. If it had been crystal clear at the start, then it would have been a mute point. But they came in later. So I do get where they're coming from. As for the organisation on the day, I really hope its ace this year, as EC last year was a bit messy for golds. Its a great thing that SM are doing, I just hope its nailed this year. -
I absolutely agree, a much more chilled, and relaxed day.

I only went to see Burn Gorman, and after my experience at LFCC, I was reluctant to go. Glad I did though. I took my 3 and a half year old, and Burn chatted to him about his favorite superheroes and stuff, and had a whale of a time. I've met loads of guests over the years, and he was by far the best. Signed my Layer Cake poster, and shared a couple of tales etc. A lot more chilled out and relaxed, all good! -
Anyone wanting to see Burn Gorman?

Gold Pass review - Showmasters
dr nick riviera replied to Avengers7's topic in London Film and Comic Con 2014
It should have been, and certainly was in one area on Saturday. Did you speak to the crew in the area concerned? And/or the pit boss (red crew shirt)?I'm an idiot, I replied to this and forgot...... -
Is there a list of the traders anywhere?

I'm not a hat person but I liked what I saw so I picked up one of their leaflets. They are called Lucky Seven Caps. Thank you sir! -

I'd like to know who the 'hat van' people were, I missed out getting one......drats. -
OK David, thanks for stepping in, and being the calm voice. I've posted on a couple of threads about the situation and my experiences on both Friday and Saturday. I'll wait for the official line, but as with all feedback, it's important that it's listened to and responded to, not fobbed off, or erased. The sweary comments I get, but the others, are valid no matter how uncomfortable they make Jason, or the organisation feel. A basic rule of dealing with feedback from customers, is that if dealt with properly (and that means honestly and quickly), those customers who complained can become your biggest fans and advocates, there is a real opportunity here to do that. If you do you'll end up with a better reputation and stronger fan base than before. Over to SM I guess......

Gold Pass review - Showmasters

It should have been, and certainly was in one area on Saturday. Did you speak to the crew in the area concerned? And/or the pit boss (red crew shirt)? It didn't happen for me, I showed the blue shirt my pass, and she directed me to the back of the queue. I started to explain, but mid sentence was told to 'wait there, I'll be back in a mo', and she never returned.
