Can I add my thoughts to this thread please. I have attended the last 5 shows as a dealer and was the 1st to book my stand, even when the moaners were having a rant about the event, possibly not going to go ahead. I wrote at the time that we should get behind the show and support the people who put this and other SM events together. When you say do you think that the traders think the buyers are daft, just think for a minute that without the dealers, the show would not be what it is today. I spent between £400 - £500 on the cost of the stand and a further £150 to hire a van to bring stock along. Dealers play a very important role in the show and without us, in my opinion, it would amount to either fewer guests or higher prices for their signatures. I suggest that you consider that the dealers need to price their items accordingly with the above costs in mind. Again, this is only my opinion, but there did not seem to be the amount of people in the hall over the weekend. With comments like yours, would it suit you not to bother with the stands and we make it a car boot ?

Hi Although i'm bound by the rules that state no advertising your own business on here, I have stood as a dealer for the past 4 events. Fear not those who doubt that this event is not happening as I have booked my 3 tables again yesterday and look forward to the show in a few months time. I suggest all the other dealers book their tables now as the price per table is going to increase. Come on all, lets have some positive thinking and get behind the organisers who do a great job.

One thing to think about is that the dealers pay a fair wedge of money to be able to stand at these events. Without the dealer stands, some of the BIG names would not be able to attend as im sure the revenue from the dealers off sets the fees that these big names charge. One of the main reasons that dealers like the MK centre is passing trade. Move venue, you risk loosing the dealers and the knock on effect of the big names !

Hi all, Can I add my own views to this thread. I attended as a dealer ( Soccersignings ). It was only the second event that I have traded as, the 1st being Autographica at Birmingham. I was positioned opposite the Showmasters booth and I had quite a few Framed items on the back wall ( if anybody remembers me ? ) The whole weekend went without problem with Mark and the team visiting on a regular basis, checking how things were going. It can be a thankless task sorting out events and also addressing the issues that go with them. From me, Many Thanks & Warmest Regards
