With the WWE in cost cutting mode, it has been announced that all chamoionship belts will have the name shields removed from them. This will be a return to the old days where the title belt was very prestigous and not some fashion statement. This may also mean the end of the spinning wwe belt used by Cena and the use of belts in matches. Having to replace and/or repair belts so regularly can prove costly. You may also see the combining of title belts to cut that down as well with one Heavyweight title belt, one tag team belt, a combined IC/US title belt, one women's title belt and possibly a belt to replace the ECW if at all. Over the next year expect alot of changes in the WWE as TNA are showing how good the action can be with just 3 title belts.

WWE won't be copying TNA any time soon. The action isn't 'good' when one guy holds all the belts.

And they won't go through combining all the belts again when they're sticking with the roster split.

The WWE are not doing the HOLDING ALL TITLES thing. I was just saying that major noise has been comign out of Satmford saying that the roster split with so many titles is in the process of being changed over the next year as the higher ups feel that there are to many titles. The TNA reference was with regards to just three titles, rather than the numerous ones the WWE has.

The women's title is always up in the air as to whether it will be dropped or not.

Both Jim Ross and Vince MaMahon have stated that a return to the old days is very much on the cards with longer term storylines for titles, rather than short PPV month length ones. They are currently trying it with Morrison vs Punk. Both VKM and JR have said that the overall roster split is in it's last days as it is.

The re-integration of the Smackdown, Raw and ECW rosters has been in the works for the past 2 and a half years. However, Jim Ross has stated that long term injuries and tragic passings have delayed the change. The biggest problem for the Stamford based WWE is the cost of putting on so many shows and keeping them fresh. There are three smaller writing teams for Raw, Smackdown and ECW with one overall one headed by Stephanie Levesque-McMahon, and it is thought that the storylines are being spread too thin. There have been many comings and goings in the writing departments, and in turn the sizes of these teams have gradually shrunk.

The re-integration was recently tested with Matt and Jeff Hardy appearing on both Raw and Smackdown, and Vicki Guerrero inviting Raw stars to appear on Smackdown. The initial responses from the higher ups were voiced by Jim Ross in a recent online blog where he said that the crossover appearances went down well with the crowds. Nothing happens overnight, so this is something that will gradually happen over the next 12 to 18 months with a probable PPV such as WrestleMania 25 in 2009 heralding the Heavyweight Champion vs WWE Champion, IC Champion vs US Champion and World Tag Team Champs vs WWE Tag Team Champions matches as the final three matches on the card.

One of the main reasons, aside from costs and freshness of the product, is that TNA Wrestling has come on leaps and bounds in recent times with the introduction of ex-WWE employees and the upcoming two hour Impact shows. Spike TV, who broadcast TNA Impact, are pushing through the two hours shows, with a view to live two hour shows every week in the future. This is in a similar way to how the old WWF did it many years ago.

This isn’t just rumour for these, or any message forums. This information is gleaned from many online interviews, blogs and magazine articles by Jim Ross, Vince McMahon and other higher ups in Stamford, CT. The WWE does not do anything overnight, so this is something that will happen over time. If you look at WWE history you will see that business has dipped and the WWE has taken action. The whole point of the roster split was to freshen things up, and it is deemed necessary to freshen things up again.

Happy viewing from one long term fan to all of you

P.S. In an interview on American Radio this past week, Rob Van Dam said that he will return to wrestling in early 2008 and has no plans to change employers.

P.P.S. As you will see coem No Surrender in September, Angle will drop the Tag Titles and X Division titles. This storyline in TNA was only temporary. The WWE has doen it with Champion and Challenger holding the Tag Titles going into their title match.

There has been talks of another WWE PPV being canceled in 2008, possibly the Cyber Sunday show. They may instead switch it to another special three-hour RAW with the same concept.

Talks are also on for a WWE developmental territory in the U.K. Although nothing is confirmed, WWE has contacted some of the U.K. based talent and given them the impression that the territory will start in 2008. Some names that may be involved are Katie Lea, Paul Burchill, Sheamus O'Shaunessy and Drew Galloway. Len Davis, who is in charge of the project has been trying to secure a TV deal and has been in talks with MTV, BBC and The Wrestling Channel.

Also :

Current plans have Batista taking the title from The Great Khali this weekend at SummerSlam and hold the title until Survivor Series or Armageddon, around the time Edge is set to return. Edge is set to take the title and hold it until WrestleMania 24 where he will defend the title against The Undertaker in the SmackDown main event.

The WWE are continuing their cost cutting measures - a regular annual occurance - with the release of development talent Dan Rodman. He was known to be Stephanie Levesque McMahon's pet project and was close to being brought to the main roster on three occasions. He had worked house shows with John Cena on a number of occasions and was seen as a future star.

Why Undertaker Isn't Returning At SummerSlam, More

According to once source the Undertaker wanted to return at Sunday's SummerSlam pay-per-view, however, Vince McMahon pushed his return back until next month's Unforgiven pay-per-view. McMahon's reason was that by allowing the Undertaker to return at Summer Slam it would send out the message that superstars needed to rush back from injuries and now is not a good time to send out that message.

Stephanie McMahon is pushing hard for D-Lo Brown to be brought up to the main RAW roster and become involved in a mid-card storyline. Brown has currently been working a lot of dark matches at recent televised events.

Bret Hart's WWE Return, Hart Foundation Change, More

- As previously posted, Harry Smith, Teddy Hart and Nattie Neidhart are working under the name Hart Foundation 2.0. WWE is looking to bring them up to the main roster soon, and are trying hard to get Bret Hart to work an introduction angle in trade for WWE promoting his new book, that is set to be released in October.

If Bret won't do it, Jim Neidhart is very willing to come in and do the angle. SmackDown writer Michael Hayes is very high on Teddy Hart as he reminds Hayes of his World Class Championship Wrestling persona and feels like he "lives the gimmick."

- TJ Wilson, who has basically been considered a member of the Hart Family and is also dating Nattie, will not be included in the group as first thought. Instead, it appears he will be brought up to the roster as a cruiserweight on the SmackDown brand.

Full Details On McMahon Paternity Angle: Major Spoilers

As previously reported the current plan is for Ken Kennedy to be revealed as Mr. McMahon's illegitimate son. If something would happen and the storyline would end up bombing, WWE has a contingency plan to fall back on. The plan would be to say that Kennedy "forged" the papers and lab results and is a con artist trying to get into a billionaire family.

The entire McMahon family will be involved in the angle with Stephanie getting involved sometime around October or November. This will then involve Triple H as he will come in and make the save revealing himself as Vince's son-in-law therefore setting the stage for the RAW main event at WrestleMania with him as a babyface vs. Kennedy, likely for the title with the entire McMahon family somehow involved.

USA Network's Bonnie Hammer loves the idea of the angle and wants another big three-hour special in October like WWE did last year with the Homecoming show. This will most likely be the show that reveals Kennedy as McMahon's son. Hints will be dropped on RAW each week until that edition.

Shane was told that he won't be needed in the ring until around the time of Royal Rumble. He will probably be Kennedy's first family victim.

WWE Star Releasing Very Controversial Book; Details

- Those who have seen Batista's upcoming book say it's "insane." Sources say it's sure to ruffle a few feathers in the WWE locker room. Batista has said time and time again that he's the most boring guy in the world, which sounds like it would make for a pretty dull book, but as it turns out, he talks nonstop about who he hates and does not respect in the locker room in his book.

This could very well be major trouble in the making for the WWE superstar since he's hated by most of the locker room already. Batista also gives his thoughts on certain creative decisions WWE has made and more.

The former World Heavyweight Champion also talks "recklessly" about the number of women he's slept with. Batista's book is said to be totally different from all the other WWE books.

Top WWE Superstar To Leave After Unforgiven

Mark Henry's deal is about to expire and as of right now he is not entering negotiations to re-sign. According to one source Henry is looking at getting into acting and other non-wrestling stuff. This is an update to a date given by Hnery in a previous interview as to when his contract ended

This would explain why after Chris Benoit's death he spoke publicly about not wanting to travel with other WWE Superstars because they could be carrying illegal recreational drugs. If you don't remember Henry said that, "If they get caught, then I'd be (considered) guilty, too. If we get pulled over we're both going down," in the American-Statesman newspaper.

Mark has been with WWE since he finished with the 1996 Olympics. He worked a ten-year deal with the company and has devoted a lot of time to develop. Currently he is being built up for the Undertaker's return match at Unforgiven, so unless WWE makes the right offer, this could be his last bout with the company.

Hardy vs. MVP Not At SummerSlam, New Match, More

- As things currently stand there will not be a MVP vs. Matt Hardy match at Sunday’s SummerSlam pay-per-view. The reason for this being is WWE was not sure on whether or not MVP would be ready to work due to his health situation and did not want to commit him to a match. Look for WWE to continue to build the Hardy/MVP feud and have a bout between the two at next month’s Unforgiven pay-per-view.

- For those of you who have not heard, WWE has added Finlay vs. Kane to SummerSlam this Sunday.

Vince’s Illegitimate Son, European Territory Update

-- WWE has been contacting U.K. talent, giving them the impression that an European territory could be started in early 2008.

-- The storyline of Vince McMahon’s illegitimate son was originally an attempt to get Vince McMahon involved more on SmackDown and to further the career of Mr. Kennedy. The idea was originated back in 2006 but was scraped by Vince McMahon. Since 2006 the storyline was brought back to the table several times but turned down.

As part of the Mr. McMahon death storyline, an idea was pitched that would have had McMahon leave his estate to his secret son, Mr. Kennedy.
