~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They didn't like her. She knew they didn't like her. They would overcrowd a compartment before they would join her. She had always been able to see Thestrals, from the moment she first left the train they had known it. She supposed the 'bad luck' image of the creatures was part of their dislike, though she wished that they could just understand that only those who had watched death, and seen the instrument of the same death carry out its mission, could see these creatures.
She also knew that the Weasly family was a good family to know. She had shared her first kiss with a Weasly - indeed, her only kiss - and wished often that she could have changed what she had said. But she had been eager to know what lay under the robes, to feel that soft flesh and that fiery passion...and had let her partner know that. She had held nothing back, and for that she had lost everything.
She knew too that Ron had no idea about what his sister had been involved in. when he first was introduced to her, she watched him quite a bit, scared he might be angry at what she had wanted, but clearly Ginny had kept their liaison secret.she was thankful, since her father would probably have published something derogatory on the tempers of redheads in general if he had learned.
She did like Ron. She wanted to get to know him better. But he was so short-tempered that she feared his reaction if he were to discover her needs. She had dated several others in her lifetime, both male and female, and she had always been most satisfied and fulfilled by redheads, most notably Ginny.
She had vowed only to make a limited attempt to learn the Killing Curse. She had vowed only to use it to take her own life. When she first joined the Sisterhood of Learning, she had let the Mothers of the Order know her desires and her fears, her longings and her needs, her doubts and her beliefs.
She had enjoyed her time with the Sisterhood, and she had learned much. She had taught several as much as she could, without letting them learn the dark she had learned, without granting them access to her reading materials. Though young, she was recognised by the Mothers as having strong beliefs, and a discerning nature. She was instructed to choose, within her will, the next Lady Mother of the Order of the Sisterhoods - she was instructed not only to choose the leader of not only the Learning, but also the Protectors, Teachers, and Travellers. She was biased, and she chose her love, her redhead, though she could never again be with her as Ginny had married Harry.
She took up her wand now, aware that the moment she was successful the owl watching her would travel with her will. She said the words, and and watched the light. It was much brighter than Harry's eyes were, though it appeared somehow to be a similar shade.
Luna Lovegood's last thought was to pray that Harry would accept his wife's obligation to the Order, and would accept that she had once cared more for the touch of a woman than that of a man. She simply hoped that Ginny would tell him instead of leaving a note claiming that they couldn't be together any more and she would provide maintenance for their three children.
