  1. Exactly my reaction!!! Think of the shoulder pads!! FORGET THE SHOULDER PADS....THINK OF THE CEMENTED ON MAKE-UP AND THE POSSIBILITY OF A FALSE APPENDAGE FALLING OFF MID-SHOOT! PART OF A CHEEK LIFT, PART OF HER NOSE AND GOD FORBID A BREAST! Salem, any chance of you not typing in capitals all of the time. It totally screws with my eyes. Cheers.
  2. Although I found Lockdown reasonably enjoyable, the cage was awful and the tag title match attrocious.
  3. It sounds like you lot had a great time. I am glad for you.
  4. oh sorry i couldn't recognise who you were talking about on acount of the nickname heh tuned out there for a a second At the moment you will see Abyss get his run at Kurt Angle before the imminent return of Jeff Jarrett who is back in training to get fit to return following the in ring time off after his Wife passed away pre Slammiversary 2007. You will probably see Angle keep the belt for a while, with Brock Lesnar being rumoured to come in. Dixie Carter, the person who is the equivalent of Vince McMahon, has said that she would ensure that Lesnar could keep on with his MMA commitments in Japan by giving him time off to train etc for the bouts. Lesnar's biggest beef with the WWE was the travelling. So, take into account that the TNA crew record two shows in one night every fortnight at the same location in Universal Studios (Flordia), then Lesnar is a good possibility. I don't want Brock in TNA I didn't even like him in WWE, If Goldberg can stop being an idiot over money I think he should come to the six sided ring. Goldberg didn't, and doesn't like Kurt Angle. He has gone on record many times about him living on his Olympic Gold Medal. Brock and Kurt are good friends and Lesnar did the clean job in Japan without hesitation.
  5. As regards comparions made to GMEX and LFACC with Collectormania Glasgow, let us be realistic here. Manchester and London are two of the biggest and most travel friendly areas to a much bigger portion of the UK. If you look at the poulations of Scotland and England (including Wales due to it's locality and travel network), you will see from a business stand point that Glasgow was always going to be a bit of a punt in the dark. You have a much much much better chance of WALK UP attendees who come at the last minute who are in Manchester/London or visiting than you would in Glasgow. In order to get Glasgow up to a MK, London or Manchester level, you, or rather Showmasters, have to tread carefully. The numbers simply do not add up to go in all guns blazing and expect to run further events. Remember that one bad event can hurt all other events.
  6. Ross Owen I am a true fan of one thing and one thing only...my happiness and enjoyment. I am loyal to no single events/convetion organisation and have openly voiced my opinions of Showmasters to them directly if needed. I do not need to do it in the way it has been done here. Harkness has moaned throughout his/her stay here, and that has been brief. You yourself have taken a partial quote from DavidB and put it in your signature to make him look a prat. By his history on this board alone he is a loyal hardworking volunteer..something I admire in anyone who does something to help others as well as themselves (the perks of beign an assistant etc are known). One thing I do detest is bullying, and in my opininon that has gone on through derision and put downs during certain person's posts. I am not naming who as I am non confrontational across a board as it makes for bad atmosphere. These comments that I make now are generalised and made in extreme calmness before going out for the evening. You can be any type of fan on these OPEN forums, and have opinions etc. However, if people like Harkness want to post rather agressive posts and not think that they will be addressed or replied to then he/she has another thing comign. I am a man who is not a child, teenager or twenty something. I am someone who has been around the block a bit and I will not stand for someone being picked on, which I consider to have happened to both DavidB and anyone else who has voiced opinions against Harkness. He/She started the name calling and agressiveness, and it is wrong. This is a friendly place, not a school yard. I wonder if Harkness woudl be so agressive face to face. Or is it a case of from behind a PC monitor he/she is a different person? By the way Ross Owen, very little has been directed at you bar the signature quote. The source of the antagonism is Harkness. Opinions are a right. Bullying is not. As a Samaritan trained individual, I can see/smell bullying a mile off and will not stand for it. However, your remarks are not in that category. So, please do not take comments made to others as to you. I will tell you to your face/monitor.
  7. Harkness - A piece of friendly advice form a non Showmasters lackey, but someone who is a fan going to events to enjoy them....for every mona you bring up, there will be many TRUE FANS who want to give SM a chance at Glasgow who will shwo that you have come on here to moan and nothing else. So, chill out and discuss, rather than gettign in people's monitors - I would have said faces, but not for obvious reasons. This is a friendly place, so your discussion may come off as argumentative or agressive to many others. I wonder if you really want top have fun or just moan? Glad that those who had fuin di. If it takes place again in Glasgow, I am plannign to go up. Only unemployment stopped me this year.
  8. I've got my glasses..and they're cool......*sung with a jig!!
  9. Exactly my reaction!!! Think of the shoulder pads!!
  10. As a seasoned convention and event attendee, I have found that some of the most wonderful guests are the lesser known ones. I met Jeremy Renner some years ago, and he had only been in one episode of Angel (Somnambalist - 1x11) and was to star in SWAT and 28 Weeks Later to name two. He was a greta guest, very open and chatty, drank with us in the afternoon and was simply excellent. A big name does not make the guest great. One person's "crap guest" is another's "superb guest".
  11. For every nahsayer who thinkg this lineup is not favourable to them, I can put my life savings of £3.37 and a half eaten Mars Bar (free stuff for product placement!!!give me Mars Bars Mars!) that there is one to say it is a great line up. To those going to enjoy it, especially the birthday girl, have a ball. Tp the miserable nahsayers...gripe all you want as the yaysayers can brighten the days by smiling.
  12. Vince’s Illegitimate Son, European Territory Update -- WWE has been contacting U.K. talent, giving them the impression that an European territory could be started in early 2008. -- The storyline of Vince McMahon’s illegitimate son was originally an attempt to get Vince McMahon involved more on SmackDown and to further the career of Mr. Kennedy. The idea was originated back in 2006 but was scraped by Vince McMahon. Since 2006 the storyline was brought back to the table several times but turned down. As part of the Mr. McMahon death storyline, an idea was pitched that would have had McMahon leave his estate to his secret son, Mr. Kennedy.
  13. He never lost the belt, just the run as world champ that had been pencilled in for him. Him getting involved in the fake death of Vince was a back up plan if it bombed...as is the illegitamite child angle where he might be revealed as someone faking the results of a paternity test to get VKM's money
  14. Pause, Rewind, Play. Pause, Rewind, Zoom In, PLay.
  15. As previously posted elswhere, the WWE are trying to set up a development territory. This would allow Britain's talent to get more TV time. The UK is one of 2 satellite offices outside of the US (including Canada) with China a possible third. So, the possibility is good taking into account that Raw and Smackdown airs from over here several times a years.
  16. SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW SPOILERS BELOW Full Details On McMahon Paternity Angle: Major Spoilers As previously reported the current plan is for Ken Kennedy to be revealed as Mr. McMahon's illegitimate son. If something would happen and the storyline would end up bombing, WWE has a contingency plan to fall back on. The plan would be to say that Kennedy "forged" the papers and lab results and is a con artist trying to get into a billionaire family. The entire McMahon family will be involved in the angle with Stephanie getting involved sometime around October or November. This will then involve Triple H as he will come in and make the save revealing himself as Vince's son-in-law therefore setting the stage for the RAW main event at WrestleMania with him as a babyface vs. Kennedy, likely for the title with the entire McMahon family somehow involved. USA Network's Bonnie Hammer loves the idea of the angle and wants another big three-hour special in October like WWE did last year with the Homecoming show. This will most likely be the show that reveals Kennedy as McMahon's son. Hints will be dropped on RAW each week until that edition. Shane was told that he won't be needed in the ring until around the time of Royal Rumble. He will probably be Kennedy's first family victim. WWE Star Releasing Very Controversial Book; Details - Those who have seen Batista's upcoming book say it's "insane." Sources say it's sure to ruffle a few feathers in the WWE locker room. Batista has said time and time again that he's the most boring guy in the world, which sounds like it would make for a pretty dull book, but as it turns out, he talks nonstop about who he hates and does not respect in the locker room in his book. This could very well be major trouble in the making for the WWE superstar since he's hated by most of the locker room already. Batista also gives his thoughts on certain creative decisions WWE has made and more. The former World Heavyweight Champion also talks "recklessly" about the number of women he's slept with. Batista's book is said to be totally different from all the other WWE books. Top WWE Superstar To Leave After Unforgiven Mark Henry's deal is about to expire and as of right now he is not entering negotiations to re-sign. According to one source Henry is looking at getting into acting and other non-wrestling stuff. This is an update to a date given by Hnery in a previous interview as to when his contract ended This would explain why after Chris Benoit's death he spoke publicly about not wanting to travel with other WWE Superstars because they could be carrying illegal recreational drugs. If you don't remember Henry said that, "If they get caught, then I'd be (considered) guilty, too. If we get pulled over we're both going down," in the American-Statesman newspaper. Mark has been with WWE since he finished with the 1996 Olympics. He worked a ten-year deal with the company and has devoted a lot of time to develop. Currently he is being built up for the Undertaker's return match at Unforgiven, so unless WWE makes the right offer, this could be his last bout with the company. Hardy vs. MVP Not At SummerSlam, New Match, More - As things currently stand there will not be a MVP vs. Matt Hardy match at Sunday’s SummerSlam pay-per-view. The reason for this being is WWE was not sure on whether or not MVP would be ready to work due to his health situation and did not want to commit him to a match. Look for WWE to continue to build the Hardy/MVP feud and have a bout between the two at next month’s Unforgiven pay-per-view. - For those of you who have not heard, WWE has added Finlay vs. Kane to SummerSlam this Sunday. 17. DD78 has sorted me out and I am preparing my download list already!!
  18. Tidy Tidy. Am tinkering now. Cheers.
  19. I freely admit that SM shows that I have been to could have improved here and there, but they only came up due to the actions of attendees or unforeseen circumstances. It's called life. From Lackey Jr to Lackey Sr! lol
  20. Hey it's fine - it's the "so and so stopped doing events because ..." discussion I wanted to steer away from, as that's speculation really, and not really our place to be talking about here I would agree, but I may be deemed your lacket=y! LOL
  21. Harkness - Just a quicky. I have no allegiance or connection to Showmasters or people who work/volunteer for them. I attend them when I can, as many other events all over the UK. So, I have to remove myself from the lackey comment. And the blinkered one for that matter. But hey, we are all allowed our opinions after all. DavidB - I sincerely apologise for generalising the events market, but I had hoped the non mentioning of names was sufficient. I was just trying to get a point across about business in general. My bad. Arkham
  22. If you have seen DT as The Doctor you will now he wears glasses from time to time. Well, today I had to order my new glasses and was drawn to identical glasses worn by The Doctor. I pick them up tomorrow, but no long coat! Not yet anyway! LOL Arkham P.S. They look damn cool if I do say so myself..
  23. I cannot personally see Mr. Kennedy winning the belt as it would be a step down for him. He is treading water at the moment and waiting for Edge to come back in a few months to beat the predicted winner of the Greta Khali/Batista match (Batista) at Survivor Series or Armageddon. If anything, he will continue what he has been doing in the house shows and jobbing to Umaga in 3 way dances liek the one at Summer Slam. The paying Sky thing grates with me as Sky are doing their level best to screw ever last bt of money out of us. Virgin have just eaten up the cost of Setanta (6 channels in all) to all cable viewers. DisneyDude78, can you e-mail me on arkhamoriginal@msn.com with the download site that you use? Cheers if you can. I will cry if you can't! LOL
