  1. Firefly9, Cool pictures, never saw you there but if I had known you were that HOT looking I would have looked out for you! Hope to see you next year, gives me plenty of time to work on my chat up lines ' hey Firefly fancy meeting u at a Collectormania show like this' , etc.
  2. Okay , so the Official Verdict from the organisers, how did it go? And will they be back for definite next year?
  3. Was good event! Anthony Head is stated as just being the Sat. unfortunately all others I think were Sat & Sun. Kenny Bakers flatulence lives up to its notorius status , near his desk it was like rotten eggs and tear gas , he is well known for it. Don't think he does it maliciously but it is nonetheless very potent. You could see some walking near his desk then getting hit with one he just dropped. Robert Englund was great guy as was Davies & the rest!
  4. Just back from the Event - the verdict REALLY GOOD! Really hope they got enough interest to warrant coming next year bigger & better, the venue was okay looked bit funny as it is an arena with arena seating and not the best of lighting. Good venue from point of view hundreds of shoppers around that may just have noticed it is on & come into it. Would imagine SECC charge far more to hire a hall from them. Guest list not great but Robert Englund, Anthony Head, John Rhys Davies - big queues for them. And all really nice people, especially Robert Englund! Left just before 11am queued up before 9am to get in, so didn't see how busy it got later? But hope they got the interest needed and will do Sun. also. Collectormania did a really good job for first time in Scotland . Next Year :- Double the Guest List & bigger names.
  5. Met Robert Englund today INCREDIBLY NICE GUY! No wonder he is such a popular attraction at these events. Went early and there was long querue then for 9am entry, so probably even busier later. Hope it was a good success and Sun. , enough for them to return next year. Got Jimmy Vee's autograph also the free one with entry! When I got near his table there was quite a strong smell he noticed me grimacing a little then he pointed at Kenny Baker just along from him and said 'its very probably him that did the foul deed he's legendary for it'. Few friends that got Kenny Baker's autograph, I already had this said he is a great guy but his flatulence is out of hand.
  6. Nicest Guest to Talk With is.......................? Your opinions. Probably best to answer after the show. Met Kenny Baker only one in line up I've met before , incredibly nice guy & great to talk with. The rumours you here about his flatulence are true , I was talking with him when he raised up a bit off his seat and did a bottom burp in a violent sustained manner, I didn't know to laugh or what but he burst out laughing so I did also, only when the smell hit me it was so fierce I stopped laughing. Heard from others he is well known for it , often it is silent but then suddenly hits you when you are at his desk. Its funny and no harm done in the end, Kenny is certainly not doing it with malicious intent, but I can tell you from experience for a little man he packs a fierce pungent burp. So forewarned is forearmed as they say, worse if you are queuing and don't want to move and lose your place and you get hit with the foul odour. Robert Englund is meant to be great too , heard from others that met him, he is great with fans and talks with them a lot.
  7. http://www.braehead-arena.co.uk/content.ph...l&event=103 Note the MANY MORE GUESTS TO BE ANNOUNCED BIT from TV, Sport, etc? mmmmmmmmmmmm? False advertising me thinketh. But lets hope few more on the day.
  8. Any chance of few more surprise guests on the day, or that line up is definitely it? The website kept saying more guests to be announced, the 'more' never came, few cancelled and were replaced but numbers did not alter. It's a bit of false advertising 'more guests coming' , 'first guests announced' , etc. The event initially also was FREE (free entry) , then it suddenly became a paid event to get in ; thats why some have an issue with the guest list, originally free now charging to get in. I'm looking forward to it, and hope it will be well attended.
  9. You can still get early bird tickets entry at 9am on the door I assume? (stopped mail order 2 weeks before event at Showmasters). Will there be separate queue to get tickets, then another to get into the venue? Or you all go in one queue and can buy tickets as you enter?
  10. The Guest Line Up lets be honest is UTTER CRAP! I'm looking forward to it , but seriously good guest would have been an idea especially popular current ones. Dalek voices -LOL , may get last minute guest that pushed the Daleks around set, and made tea & hot snacks for them! The Guest List who drew it up? - own up now please! , just seems like any old person will do B or rather Z list stars doesn't matter , just get anyone. Talked to a lot of people , I mean a lot doing Film studies at Uni. that are heavily into fims/TV - sci fi , horror, etc. THE VAST MAJORITY WILL NOT BE ATTENDING AS THEY SAID THE GUEST LIST LOOKS SO CRAP IT'S NOT EVEN WORTH BOTHERING WITH. Decent guests would have meant far more interest & people attending. I hope this event will do really well, but with the guest list 'Meet The Stars' - ha, ha where are they? , and the fact Braehead is bit out the way , getting big audience may not be that easy.
  11. Really hoping this event is big success , and it gets the support necessary to do future events in Scotland! But I'm sceptical. The Collectables group that do shows in Birmingham, etc stopped coming to Scotland because they no longer had enough support , not enough people attending & not enough stuff sold from stalls to ensure dealers kept coming. Collectormania are in my opinion much better than the Collectables group , but the one absolutely crucial thing they failed on was a strong guest list! *** Robert England - Freddy Kreuger in Elm Street Films around 20 years ago. And he is main Guest! *** Paul McGann - nobody much remembers him as Doctor Who in the movie or in much else , apart from die hard Doctor Who fans and probably few of them there, most new fans like the new series mainly and are younger. *** Ian Whyte - anyone even know what he looks like outside the suit? They could bring in somebody off the street to sign, and few if anyone would be any the wiser. *** Nicholas Briggs - Dalek voice??? Why not get someone that pushed the daleks around the BBC set or made tea & coffee for the people in them? *** Jimmy Vee - who will recognise him outside the alien costume. *** Devon Murray , very minor Harry Potter role. *** Drew Galloway , never heard of him, asked others that are into wrestling they hadn't heard of him either. etc. Overall a WEAK line up, if only 10 or so guests why not 10 really good well known ones - especially including some current ones (from current shows or movies - Heroes, etc)? Meet the Stars? Would love too , but where are they? Really hope sincerely this event will do well, I'll be there with several friends to support it, but a great line up would have brought in far more people I'm sure! Many go for the dealers of course, but the stars are a big attraction and help bring the people in, so unfortunate there are few here and amongst them Dalek voices, etc. I know Collectormania are 'testing the waters' to see how an event goes then increase in size & amount of guests , etc next time if it does well, but really good guest list would have ensured it did well, now it is open to chance how much people it attracts.
