  1. YAY! Thanks for this most excellent news! Its my Birthday at the beginning of Nov but its always fun to celebrate twice
  2. YAY! I can't wait! I too was disappointed when they cancelled RC UK but am glad it may be on. The first weekend of Nov will be around the time of my birthday, so i can celebrate it there!(If thats when it is, if not, i can celebrate it anyway ) It would be good if they can get Germanys guests as not everyone can afford to go to the germany one and it will give us the chance to meet the guests that we want to meet without going to germany or pining because we can't go to germany LOL
  3. As i am here I may as well enter too What a great prize! *Hopes she wins*
  4. YAY! My first time crewing! Please be gentle with me I am doing both full days too
  5. Does anyone have crash space for the sunday night at G Mex? I have the other nights sorted, i just need somewhere to stay on the sunday night. No one i know seems to be staying on this night. I am crewing both days, all day and have been told that i may not be able to leave Mancs till gone 7pm. I live at least 5 hours away, so going back is not a very good option for me.
  6. I also agree. The only 3 that interest me are Miranda Otto, Craig and Mark but I have already met Craig and Mark several times. At the moment i don't see it as worth the money going at the moment as none of the others interest me. I am hoping for some higher profile guests to be announced, which SM always seem to have a knack of coming up with close to the show :)
  7. Hmmm! I am interested but theres no way i could afford to stay alone on the sunday night The reason i need to stay on th esunday is that train fares are double on the sunday for me for some reason, so it would be cheaper for me to stay on the sunday night but only if sharing. Anyone need a room for the sunday night, that can share with me?
  8. Is anyone else getting the megabus from london victoria to Manchester on the friday or the thursday? Its a long journey and i wouldn't mind having someone to talk to. I am also getting the megabus on the monday morning to, so same thing applies. Does anyone know why train fares double on sundays?
  9. Just under £40 for the weekend , is great! If u want to email me with the details , u can via menmeryisetuk@yahoo.co.uk :) Thanks xx P.S I am still keeping my options open BTW, i would prefer crashing with friends or a couple of females
  10. Where abouts is it, price ect? :) I wanted to stay on the thursday as i am so bad at getting anywhere on time but i guess i can come down on the Friday instead Saves me some money too
  11. I am looking for someone who either has an existing room that needs one more person, or needs someone to stay with for the G Mex weekend. Looking pref from the Thurs night to the monday morn. Pref looking for females or people i vaguely know to crash with Mail me or post here if u can help me out :) Thanks Huggles xx
  12. Pretty please would get Jason Secto to G Mex??? I would so love to meet him! He played various Elves(namely Orophin) in LOTR and did behind the scenes work too. He is also a great artist! Very talented *cough*and cute too*cough*
  13. YAY! Mark and Craig together again! More laughs than u can shake a pointed stick at! :) Thanks SM!
  14. YAY! It will be good to see Craig again as he is soo lovely! :) Pity its one of his last UK shows tho I'll miss that guy!
  15. I like most of the ideas being throw around at this time. I esp like the idea of all three movies being shown at a decent cinema. Tho i would prefer it to be the extended editions Costume comps and such like are always a good way to get the attendees involved as are art and poetry comps. Themed rooms would also be nice. Plenty of seating in a relaxed atmosphere is a good thing. Also, if theres to be a party/dj can we have a wider range of musical tastes catered for? As usually its just pop with the occassional rock track added. At another show they actually played some Goth music which suprised me but it made it more bearable for those of us that are not to keen on mainstream music :) We need a not to big venue, thats easy to get to, fairly central, not too expensive with quite a few non expensive hotels and B&B's nearby. This would cater for all those wanting to attend and make it easier on them.
  16. I voted for Birmingham as its easy to get to from most places ,its quite central and its Tolkien's home town! SW England is no where near central and is hard and expensive to get too. If u live in the North its as far south as u can get(apart from the IoW )
  17. I totally agree with u but some of them may be hard to get to come to a con, and the one i would most like to meet is Patricia :)
  18. Any chance of Showmasters being able to book Patricia Velasquez for one of their cons? She played Anck Su Namun in The Mummy. I would so love to meet her!! Plllleeeeaaassseee!!

  20. I was just wondering why there are no pics of the people who won the non professionally made costume comp?
  21. On the contrary, Kirsty, the crowd can be extremely biased at times! How can judges who have a list of criteria of what to judge on be more biased than a crowd of people friends? Set Judges just know what they are judging on and what they are looking for. There are always going to be people who don't like the outcome of a contest and who will dispute it, that doesn't mean the judges are biased , they are just more impartial than a crowd where it depends on how many friends you have in that crowd with the loudest voices that chooses the winner. Also when i heard a girl from the crowd saying that the Nurse team didn't deserve to win because they didn't fight on stage, i was appalled!! Was that comment a sign of an impartial, neutral crowd?? I am not saying all the crowd were biased, i am just saying that having several judges who know what they are looking for ,is definately a fairer way of judging the contest than via asking the crowd.
  22. I understand that he was busy but couldn't they have got several less busy people to judge it?? Judging via the crowd is not and was not the fairest way of doing it. Having 2 or 3 judges to choose the best costume would have been a great deal fairer. Saying you don't like to judge yourselves seems like a cop out. Most other costume contests i have seen and read up on have several impartial judges, they are rarely judged by the crowd. I also cheered for whomever had obviously worked hard on their costume, for that was what the contest was supposed to be for.
  23. I was in a goth club in Manchester getting slightly drunk and dancing to great music
