  1. I reckon it's someone from Lord of the Rings. Would be Olde skool
  2. Karl Urban would be a great guest - get the benefit of 2 major franchises as well I would love to meet Andy Serkis, he will also be Captain Haddock in the upcoming Tintin flick. Or any of the hobbitses? Come on SM... I'll buy a Gold Pass
  3. Go on SM, please get a LOTR guest...
  4. Any chance of getting Alan Lee or John Howe to come along? These illustrators are immense & they have also worked on the Lord of the Rings movies. They would both go well with the other illustrators. I would spend a fortune at their stalls. Also how about some more Heroes guests or other Lord of the Rings actors/actresses. Some on SM, you know you want to... Colin
  5. SM, please get some LOTR guests. I would come from Scotland for any LOTR guest - even the 3rd orc on the right in Moria! Please SM!!!!!
  6. Rowan Atkinson on Sunday perhaps. He finishes playing Fagin on the 18th. Would attract a very large crowd
  7. I can't see Shane Rangi on the list. Is he there all weekend? Maybe I am just missing something? Thanks
  8. Please get some LOTR guests and Harry Potter guests. Last year was brilliant with JR Davies. Georgia Moffet would be good too and other Doctor Who guests. At the moment i'm only coming for Warwick Davies.
  9. Why not? has he explicitly said he would never do a signing event? and it isn't quite a convention which I guess would be harder work
  10. If this event gets a big name I may travel down from Scotland to it! What this event needs is a local lad like Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who or Heroes anyone?), Sir Ian McKellen or Dom Monaghan! That'd be brill!
  11. Does anyone who went to LFACC know if there were any photos of Tom in the silver chair as Puddleglum? Thanks in advance Colin
  12. It's natural to be disappointed - don't worry, you're not the only one As for expectations, everyone has them! Even Showmasters. They obviously wouldn't have wanted things to end up like this, and no doubt they were planning on getting as good a lineup as they possibly could - unfortunately with timing etc, it's just not worked out the way anyone wanted it to! We all know they're more than capable of getting high-quality guests, but it really is a case of wrong place, wrong time with this event it seems. Yeah, well Collectormania Glasgow really whet my appetite for this one. I would've went to LFACC though if this one wasn't going ahead as at the start it was a choice between this and LFACC, so it would suck if this fell through as I really wanted to go to LFACC too. I will go to LFACC next year though.
  13. Well I've always figured non-refundable rooms were exactly that .. I don't know the terms/conditions of it. I'm sure you can contact them if/when it's necessary and find out. yeah, thanks, I thought there may be a possibility if the event was cancelled. Probs not though. Fingers crossed the event does go ahead though, I've not met Andy or David Wenham so that would be cool, just wish they could get sean bean or summit. I think promise was the wrong word to use, but I was under the impression it would be quite big guests with the hobbits reference etc. Heck they got EWood at last years LFACC and Dom at this years. Perhaps I was being presumptious. I guess i'm a bit disappointed about not knowing if it's going ahead or not.
  14. I know, I don't know what possessed me, i really don't. I was thinking BIG LOTR convention with big names. But still, I was crazy to pay that money. TOTALLY REGRET IT NOW. There'll be absolutely NO benefits for Gold Pass ticket holders. Agree with you Chelsea :) We were promised big guests, as I remember SM referring to getting 3 of the 4 Hobbits prior to the ROTK movie or something. I paid for 2 gold tickets and totally regret it now, but thats hindsight for you. I really can't be bothered waiting another month before hearing that the event isn't going to take place, i'm just getting ready to book my flights, thus I really need to know soon. What about our 'non-refundable' room bookings too, will these fee's be waived if this event is cancelled. Please let us know one way or another.
  15. Please please please try and get Warwick Davies, he would be a great guest, he's been in so many amazing movies - Star Wars, Harry Potter, Willow, the new prince caspian movie, the old BBC Narnia programmes. I would get his auto on 3 things and would pay £25 each Pleases
  16. That is music to my ears, I can't wait now thanks SM Colin
  17. JRD and Katie Purvis, both seemed genuinely interested in me and were lovely people
  18. I was a first timer, I'm going to another show and wanted to see the kind of stalls/things that were happening. I had an amazing time, the no. of guests for me was perfect, I spent over £100 on autos of people there alone so I couldn't really have afforded many more. My positives were, the arena was a perfect size, plenty of seats, great crew, the talks were brilliant, stalls were really interesting, meeting mick from MSPG and the great buzz etc. negatives, came back with a far lighter wallet, it was a bit out of the way so it wasn't easy to get to without a car (not too big a problem), I was a bit starstruck when I met JRD and Anthony Head and didn't really know what to say. My fave guests were JRD and Katie Purvis, I felt that they both had alot of time for me. All round great time Colin
  19. It went brill, It is really easy to find, the arena is actually inside the shopping centre, there is an information point with a map on it but before Vodafone and Beaverbrooks turn right then walk down and the doors are on the left hand side. I am just back and had a great time, the talks were so so so funny and I didn't have to queue for more than 5 mins for a guest (I was there first thing though but I went back and the queues weren't too bad (biggest for Anthony Head, JRD and Robert E). The talks were great too, especially JRD's. Also its only Jimmy Vee that is free (I thought it was all of them that were a tenner) Still good though Colin p.s. I thought anthony head was going to be there on sun
  20. Wow wow wow. I'm just home and had the bestest time ever. I had to come home early as I had far too much to carry around and had spent loads. All the guests were really really nice, I have never been to an event like this before and it was a great experience. I'm going to another show and can't wait now. My fave guests were John Rhys Davies and Katie Purvis (she was so nice and was talking to me for ages) Thanks SM
  21. I'm so excited, Thanks SM, I will be coming to this show every year hopefully, I'm all booked up for another show as well
