  1. id be up for that one oh and not forgetting ally fraser aka bill paterson I would go with that - Auf Wiedersehen Pet is a classic Try and get BRIGITTE KAHN, LYSETTE ANTHONY, JULIA TOBIN as well plus Barry's tatiana lol
  2. The man or the movie? Or wasnt in the movie, was he? IP Man is an important figure in the history of chinese kung fu methodology and was the master for Bruce Lee. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ip_Man He is a person of extreme high standing in China for his defiance against the Japanese during the occupation. I was talking martial arts and the latest chinese movies with James Pax as he is involved in many projects relative to Chinese history. IP Man and IP Man 2 were directed by Wilson Yip. James was initially a model with Armani before he turned his attention to acting starring in BTILC , Kinjite with Charles Bronson and Bethune with Donald Sutherland. He has directed a number of films like a Bowl of Fish, Passion Fruit and Last Tango. He was involved in a couple of historial film projects as well - Shanghai Junction and The First Emperor - the man who made China.
  3. My experience of meeting James Pax was a positive one. My friend cybernator and myself had the pleasure of talking to James on the Saturday morning. He was approachable and willing to pose for pictures. We discussed IP Man and other martial arts movies along with BTILC. He is now a budding film director out in Beijing and we talked about his material like the First Emperor of China. He was even kind enough to pass me his business card and offer me a warm welcome should I ever visit Beijing. A total gentleman and a pleasure to meet. I personally think both of the storms have been great guests over here. So a big thumps up from me.
  4. Absolutely echo Mr Timelord - reunions = SHARPE: SEAN BEAN ASSUMPTIA SERNA DARAGH O'MALLEY THE CHOSEN MEN LIZ HURLEY ) PETE POSTLEWAITE FLASH GORDON: SAM JONES TIMOTHY DALTON ORNELLA MUTI PETER DUNCAN BRIAN BLESSED MELODY ANDERSON You know it makes sense ..... Shame I am emigrating - lads will have to rig these in my absence
  5. Big thank you to the cosplay characters - they were brilliant. You were fantastic as Jessica Rabbit. I saw you running through your photo poses at the front of the convention hall. Cosplay really makes the event for me along with the guests. Big kudos to the one and only Jessica Rabbit, Wonder Woman, Power Girl, The Flash, Batwoman and Batman, the Cylon, Catwoman, my old fav the Joker and Harley and Quin who were awesome. Cheers guys and girls we salute you!
  6. I echo those sentiments ..... we lost 3 film/movie guests and these were not replaced really but that is how the cookie crumbles ..... ah well there will be other times I am sure.
  7. LALO SCHIFFIRIN - Enter the Dragon and Dirty Harry
  8. He has been in some of my favourite movies: TOMBSTONE, APOLLO 13 et all. Bring in this hero now SM !!!!
  9. Agree - Assumptia Serna is a must too
  10. Michelle Rodriguez would be an awesome addition. She would be a good Avatar replacement for Mr Lang. Make this happen and bring a smile to our faces
  11. I agree with the count .... especially any veterans from the Malaya, Korea conflicts or even some of the guys involved the special forces actions in the Falklands and those involved in hostage situations like the Lufthansa jet. Would be some interesting stories there. Great shows and great actors and actresses. Those guests tick all the boxes for me. Great list ..... I had the pleasure of meeting Eli Wallach at the NFT a few years back when they had Western week and showed the full unedited version of the Good Bad and the Ugly on the big screen. He was a total gent
  12. Thanks Dave I will remain positive and I love the cons for the atmosphere, cosplay, stalls and being with friends. It will still be a great day out. As this one is my last for a while as I am emigrating overseas I was hoping to go out with a bang lol I know you guys work hard trying to get guests in. Would love to be the fly on the wall lol I will miss these events when I am away but I hope to attend some when in town in the future. Keep the cult movie guests coming Dave as I can get my friends to sort my autos
  13. Oh well seeing that the post "Dont worry there will be more guests to announce" has disappeared from the forum and the photoshoot and talk times have been released I can only imagine that is it regarding any future guest additions to this con. I am disappointed with the cancellations of Lang, Dun and Frakes and did not think these were aptly replaced like for like. I guess you cannot please everyone so in regards to this con for me it went from being something to look forward to to oh well Ill show face and see whats up. I live in hope a quality likewise surprise guest is in order.
  14. Another movie guest bites the dust. Luckilly I have Kristanna Loken to see and like Cybernators comment it is not the end of the world. I do hope however that maybe some more cult movie guests are announced to compensate for the loss of Lang, Dun and Frakes. Saw Dolph Lundgren was in town on BBC Breakfast talking about the Expendibles. He would be an awesome guest. How about bringing back Carl Weathers as well.
  15. I just hope SM are able to bring in someone to replace the calibre of the guests who cancelled (Frakes and Lang). Get in Ornella Muti !!!! At the moment as I am more of a movie buff the only guests I am seeing is Kristanna Loken. I will not be about for CML so I was gutted when Lang cancelled as I love the films he was in (TOMBSTONE, GETTYSBURG and GODS AND GENERALS). When I go to cons I like to meet the cult film guests and some of the TV too and any of the major guests who will be interesting to meet so I hope we get some more of these. Looking positively at it all - If not it will be a cheap one for me.
