  1. There are a few topics on the same subject, so it may not have been one that you read
  2. I believe Andrew said if they are locked, it is because they are being added to or amended.
  3. That really is a shame, the Massive Event shows are fab to attend. On this occasion it does seem that things have been taken out of their hands a little, I for one am eagerly waiting to see what is announced instead, don't forget that they had the Original Hobbits before and get on very well with them and many other of the cast of Lord of the Rings and are themselves huge fans, so they will want to put on the best show they can. If forum users are sticking up for Massive Events, it is not a misguided loyalty, it is probably because they have attended the shows and had a fab time and want to return. Nobody should belittle someone for not booking a Con hotel, because not everyones finances are able to stretch to that, I have stayed in a travelodge many a time in order to attend a show, but I have to book the option that allows cancellation, both because things can change and I have my own business and therefore could end up not able to attend last minute. I appreciate that the non cancellation option is cheaper though.
  4. I just wish people would learn to differentiate between events. Yes, there are issues elsewhere, but that does not mean this event will not go forward. It is all bonkers. Instead of getting stressed, then ask a Mod like yourself a question and it will be answered. Too much scaremongering going on, and I feel for Jason & Co. Yes, by their own words they respect feedback and look to learn from mistakes made. People expect miracles. And some seem to want to ignore the fact that some things cannot be divulged until finalised. But, that is what you are here for as i have said before i have never been to a convention before and although you said maybe January before any announcements are made, others who have been to cons for years are also worried. i do not like to be made to feel stupid by others who expect people to instantly understand everything. I'm doing my best to learn how things work - that's why i post on here, but if this is how newcomers are treated i won't bother... As mentioned above there are moderators to help on here many of us are crew too or at the least attend lots of the events who know how things work, but there are also very helpful forum users here too who are happy to answer queries, and often do before we have even seen them There is also a helpful thread which general information on how the shows work. http://showmastersonline.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=75472 As to when the guests are booked, as you have probably heard, Showmasters/Massive Events only announce a guest when a contract is signed and returned and they are usually trying for a number of guests at the same time rather than one at a time Any queries, just ask
  5. Can you still see what he posted? The edit and your post allude to more than what he posted. He was far more vague. I edited it because all you had to do was put in google and you would find the other event. It is quite clear in the forum rules I am afraid.
  6. the email addresses I found were all for reviews or travel agents booking
  7. I got this off the Laterooms.com website TO MAKE AMENDMENTS TO A BOOKING Administration: To cancel or amend an existing booking - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. ]0844 774 2004 International:+44 (0) 844 774 2004[
  8. Photoshoots now on sale http://www.btowstore.com/epages/Store2_Shop1309.sf/en_GB/?ViewAction=View&ObjectID=24740776&Page=2
  9. I am not listening to any of you! Never met Amanda, met Michael once VERY briefly in 2009 but never seen a talk, same for Chris Judge, hmmmmm could end up attending this one.................
  10. I havent got a photo shoot with either of the first so far.......................
  11. Very true, we all know that Massive Events and Showmasters would rather not make announcements until things are confirmed
  12. Thank you for letting us know. In future, if you spot anything like that, can you grab someone in a crew shirt and we can then get it sorted.
  13. FAO Trek Greg, If you ever go to a convention where Showmasters or Massive Events are at in the future, when you see your timetable and find clashes, there will usually be an information/organisers booth. They will happily sort through your tickets etc and re-arrange clashes where possible. We managed to sort out a great deal of clashes for people so that they didnt miss their paid talks that weekend, it is a shame yours werent sorted for you
  14. The camera is used to project the guests onto the screens too, so if it was moved, that wouldn't be possible I am afraid
  15. we do indeed. Keep an eye on the forum, guests are already being announced for it
  16. plus my obvious embarrassment cos I had just taken a big bite and had a mouthful of chocolate when he turned to speak to me lol You don't usually get the guests at Info booth lol
