  1. I heartily agree. It's pretty lax that so many days have gone by and the website is still up and cheerily inviting people to attend.
  2. damn Oh well. At least now we know. I do hope we get lots of LOTR guests at future events. Thank you everyone for the fascinating thread this past few days! It was like X Factor meets Shameless at times, but never less than interesting :)
  3. I agree. I can't justify a weekend pass based on these guests, but would very likely fork out for a day pass. I'm not sure why SM haven't gone down that route already, perhaps they can explain (if I missed it already, ignore me!) *still hoping beyond hope for Elijah, in which case bugger the expense - silver pass here I come!*
  4. NO i am not getting angry i am just telling you how it is and we are not blaming anybody jason Apologies, Jason. I was "tired and emotional".
  5. So your lack of communication is OUR FAULT? And your probably cancelling the event because so many of us have met John Rhys Davis is OUR FAULT? Oh, that's all right then. Silly me. Sorry, but this is a farce. I don't ask for Orlando or Viggo. Elijah would have made me fork out 75 quid or more without hesitation but that's just my weakness. But to get angry at US for being frustrated - grow up. Some of us have real problems in the real world.
  6. Having met all three guests before (JRD and Andy on several occasions), I won't be attending unless day tickets go on sale. By this I don't mean that I only want first-timers cos that's not the case. But these particular guests - lovely as they are - don't mean much to me (though Andy is a superb guest). But nice to finally get some input from SM, which has been quite shockingly lacking.
  7. I doubt SM would ever charge such an inflated price for a guest! At this rate, there won't be any guests to charge anything for...
  8. More worrying, is that they didn't even know about it! I agree If the event isn't going ahead, I wish they'd just tell us. Of course, what I really hope is that as soon as I send this comment, an announcement will be made, forcing me to eat humble pie, and voila! Elijah! Viggo! Orlando! Okay, maybe not those guys, cos that would probably be asking for the moon, but just SOMETHING!
  9. I'm meeting up with a dozen or so people, can't wait!
  10. I agree. Much as I love Andy, so far this is a non-event for me, which is a shame. I am sure that is a post has been made for a new guest then a new guest will be announced soon enough. It takes time to work out contracts etc, and these have to be perfect before any guest will sign and officially announced..... That said, it's all now part of the waiting and guessing game. I just hope who ever gets announced doesn't get the same cold reception as Billy Nighy did when he was officially added to the LFACC. I'm sure all those that moaned will be happy now he's no longer attending!! And as for those booking for the German event - many of us did that at last years another show because we know what we are getting for our money - big guest or no big guests it's worth every penny I appreciate what you're saying about contracts, etc, but there aren't even any scholars listed yet and they are surely less problematic than actors. Or maybe not... I am going to another show in Germany, went last year and you're right, it was wonderful. If Showmasters *do* make an announcement re the UK event, and it's not a guest I'm interested in, I won't moan about it but then again, I most likely won't buy a ticket, either. *hopes for someone good* As for Mr Nighy, I am gutted he's not attending; was really looking forward to meeting him

  12. Modified for a quiet life. Are you a mod, then? If you aren't, and you're just a forum member like me and offering friendly advice, it might be helpful not to instruct someone so brusquely but rather suggest. Oddly enough, this is why I haven't actually been active on the forum previously. I have no axe to grind, I just want to have fun.
  13. It's always been the case at OTHER EVENTS I have attended to allow more than one person into the photo for the standard fee (in those cases, 60 dollars or 40 quid regardless of how many people squeeze in). I've been in photo opps with Elijah, Billy and Dom with 3 other people. You only get ONE photo, which is the main point. I can't see they'd stop anyone doing multiples at LF&CC but time will tell, I guess.
  14. Aw, he's lovely. And very, very tall :)
  15. Yay! What a relief. It will make life much easier to pre-book and then only have to worry about queuing for a virtual ticket for the guests. Brilliant, thanks :) Will there be a limit set on the number?
