  1. I'm also loving the numbered seats, I think that little white sticker on the seat would solve a lot of problems :)
  2. Venue - I love the venue, the only downside this con was the temperature, once I knew it was in the Monarch suite, i used that and not the main entrance and everything was easy enough to find. Kudos to whoever organised the foodcourt for us, a lot more reasonably priced and we met some great people sitting at our table, hotel staff a little overwhelmed at times with the sheer volume of customers. Guests - Loved them all, am hoping that Kiowas confidence grows the more cons he does, he was a bit hard to understand sometimes with his mumbling, Chris was fantastic and a natural people person, Jamie was brilliant and so open and funny, all in all a very good variety of personalities. John Henson - loved him and would love him as an extra for future cons. Staff - Excellent as usual, Alli and the 2 ladies on the reception desk were really helpful, crew throughout the weekend were brilliant and special kudos to Mary, it doesn't matter what problem anyone has that woman can solve it!! AND do it with a smile! Party themes - All good, not a great deal of variety with the music but what was played worked well, I didn't see the dance floor empty on the Friday and Saturday nights at all. Smoke machine was a killjoy, couldn't breathe at one point or see more than 5 feet in front of my face it was so thick The talks - Thanks to the ignorant rude mofo's that stood at the entrance doors talking loudly to each other showing zero consideration for anyone else whilst the guests were talking on Sat afternoon - you suck! Everything else - great!
  3. I did go to the proms and thought Charlie was brilliant, he was charming and very eloquent with his talks, this time I did think he was arrogant and so far up his own backside he completely lost himself in his own ego, he ruined the talks for me, every time he was asked a question I cringed because I knew it would take 3 hours for him to try and think of something funny to say and (for me) he failed most of the time. Chris and Jamie totally outshone him in every sense. I definitely came away with the impression that nobody loves Charlie more than Charlie loves himself! I did feel a little symapthy for him though, on the Friday night a friend was going to have her photo taken with him in the lobby, he was very gracious until he looked over her shoulder at a gaggle of girls that were hiding behind a pillar and he said 'They've stalked me all night, they won't f**king leave me alone and if I stop now they're going to swarm me again' That's plain rude and just a tad obsessive to the point of being scary!
  4. Don't think so - I think Summit had announced that they had the rights to Breaking Dawn last November, so unless Meyer has a very unusual contract, she has no official leverage at all. (Hollywood learnt long ago that writers can be very precious and prescriptive about their creations and therefore hugely disruptive to a film, so generally the way a contract is written, once the author sells their rights to the film studio, they have no right of input to the film.) Hi TommyT I've read quite a few articles and I think that she's only just this month given it the green light to be made into a film - who knows for sure, it just smells of greed and movie politics to me http://www.showbizspy.com/article/193118/r...e-greenlit.html
  5. She truly was amazing, humble, funny, eloquent and stunningly beautiful, I could have cried at the guest encounter, she came in late and literally jumped on Edi who was with our group, when he apologised, we asked how long it had been since he had seen her, he said 3 weeks - they obviously have a tight friendship, they all do and i can't help but be disappointed with Stephanie Meyer, she could have gone in to bat with Summit on Rachelles behalf, she had the leverage with the film rights to Breaking Dawn. Call me a cynic but i guess when you're talking millions of dollars and there's an influential daddy thrown into the mix, i guess fan opinion doesn't count for much!! For me, to recast a major character 2 films in is ridiculous, its no difference to them replacing Jackson, Kellan, Peter or any other character, there will always only be one Victoria and thats Rachelle!
  6. I explained there was 3 of us and the Hilton offered us a family room, it cost us £84.50 instead of £74.50 and has a double bed and a sofa bed, so you have to share with a mate but still dirt cheap between 3 of us, so yes they have rooms that can accommodate 3 adults, phone them and explain, they were really helpful with us.
  7. That's strange because the Cullens would definitely rate as one of my highs of the weekend - fantastic friendly group of people!
  8. I absolutely love this idea, we could even have it in the grounds too, please please can we have a treasure hunt at the next one
  9. You found the cinema then Hattie lol What did you see? Love it, great idea Elaine
  10. A couple of points I would like to make for future consideration for organisers and fans. 1) At the dance, I was lucky and won a dance with a guest on the raffle, and thoroughly enjoyed it, but the people that had paid hard earnt money in the auction got crowded on the dance floor by other guests. I would have been peeved at that, it was rude to join them. There was no way the crew could have stopped them because it happened so fast, nothing can be done at future events to stop this except consideration from other fans! 2) I have no qualms about the difference in Gold/Standard passes, I know one person that was upgraded to a Gold pass and they definitely deserved it, and no they didn't take full advantage, i don't think they even stepped into the VIP area, they didn't get the extra photo's or autographs, all they were upgraded to was entry to the VIP area, more as a thank you really, and truthfully, rather than feel resentment, i actually felt really pleased that a crew member had taken the time out to acknowledge the hard work she'd done. 3) I didn't speak to any of the guests at the actual prom, although we were fortunate that we met them in the lobby whilst talking to Wendy on Registration, we sat back and enjoyed the prom, chatting to other friends, meeting new people, so I can say with clarity that some in the VIP area were a little too forceful in trying to keep the guests attentions to themselves when they came into the standard area. For example, Charlie would go to the toilet, the same group of maybe 3 or 4 girls would follow him out, stop him, have their photos taken with him, wait for him to come out of the bathroom and grab him on the way back for yet another photo, even the seller in the merchadise area commented on these same group of girls. Again there is very little crew to do to stop this, as the guests were far too professional to complain and seemed happy to do it, but respect and consideration for others goes a long long way. 4) If the crew could arrange name badges it would be a huge help in getting to know other fans, possibly even on our passes, with our ticket numbers and first names on them, or enough space that each guest could write their name or forum username on themselves. 5) I think there could be more interactive stuff for us to do at quieter times, maybe the film showing, design something in a craft area, more quizzes etc
  11. In Brum there wasn't any other restaurant/food facilites within a 10 mile radius of the Hilton. It was literally in the middle of an industrial estate, which is why people found the price of the food in the Hilton to be difficult to stomach. It's all well and good taking food, but you can't really live on crisps and snacks for the weekend. A main evening meal does go down well generally - which unless you've got £18 to spend on a burger, then you're pretty stuffed. There is a little pub nestled away within walking distance, called The little owl or something similar, the food was excellent and cheap, we paid £7 for a full Roast Dinner, it's worth remembering for ET3 Edit - I see Too Tall has already said this - sorry,
