Yeah because the thing is, I dont think I've ever not been pleased for the LOTR people and fans of other things (Though I have said some of them obviously dont know they are born) But I did say I would like a couple more horror people, a new face or what have you. Its really starting to **** me off now that people on that board are saying that because I dont want to queue hours for Brad Dourifs autograph, that means im not a "proper" horror fan. I queued four and a half hours at the first collectormania for Robert Englunds autograph. Im just not such a big fan of the chucky movies. And yes I do want more horror stars! I love the LOTR films, but I will admit it annoys me that there are so many of the LOTR stars again this time. Last time it was pretty much the LOTR fans whole event, and alot of the stalls were selling LOTR stuff. So I thought they could have some horror fans this time, especially after the disappointment of Kane Hodder not showing, and then them showing the wrong film at the screening. I thought they may try and do something similar for horror fans this time. I feel I am a "proper" horror fan though!

I dont think anybody has taken a pop at Brad Dourif being there though though have they?, most people seem chuffed to bits.

But you did say you were happy with the horror guests already there. Just dont turn into one of the stepford wives Obi Happy with Ken Kirzinger I guess and Brad Dourif if I can get to himthrough Rings people, but we do need more! Obi-Wan Right on brother!

They are really fun if you wanna chill with some popcorn and watch the trilogy. Even though scream 2 is a bit pants.

I cant attend the next show with dawn of the dead stars, unfortunately. I was referring to the old film, if you meant stars I want to meet.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to patronise you or say you weren't a horror fan, if you're not actually a huge fan of Child's Play or Braindead then that's fair enough. For the record, I don't think there will be any problem for anyone wanting to meet Brad, Harry or Jed. Actually there has been more that 1 horror guest per Collectormania, I just pointed out the ones that were first-time appearances. You are saying that horror fans haven't been catered for, but it seems to me from what you have repeatedly posted that the horror guests in attandance simply aren't to your tastes which is a different issue. It's just the same at LOTR fans saying they are disappointed with the 6 LOTR guests cos none of them are Viggo or Orlando! Let's just all chill out and enjoy what's on offer and instead of complaining about the current guests, start letting them know who you want for next time. JS fair enough, but I really dont think its just my opinion. I spend most of my time on the horror board and also talk to some people that dont post on here who are a little bit disappointed. I have also said that it is my personal opinion, which was what this whole post was about, people's personal opinions. Sorry if it was taken out of context. I'll just shut up now

Most people seem to be saying that there are 2 guests left to announce. There is rumour that they are going to have some Harry Potter guests. Which could be true as there are not any HP guests yet. Im not sure though - just a guess -

He is really scary, until he turns into a spider, then it gets a bit too weird! were you less scared when you found out it was Tim Curry? Or did you know it was him? For ages I didnt realise Tim Curry was the devil bloke in Legend! I find him quite sexy in that though....

I think your right about the hype, I think alot of the people are going to see the LOTR stars because they fancy them. I did say in another post that I would be interested to see if giggly girls still want their autographs when the stars are 50 plus!

I just get upset by the fact that im shouted down if I post anything on the general board, especially in the "opinions on new guests" message by Jason Voorhees. There seems to be alot of people who think there opinion is better than everybody elses. Im pleased for all the HP, SW, ST, and LOTR fans. Im only excited about Brad Dourif, but am not excited enough to queue up for hours and hours. With giggly girls (I dont care what they say, theres a scary amount of these beings running around the collectormania events!) I just feel collectormania is a bit of a teenybopper event. I mean for gods sake. I would be happy with a dawn of the dead star or somebody like that, due to the release of the new movie im sure they would be popular. There is just nobody I want to see, Loads of other people have said that there is nobody they want to see. Its not a crime to say that!

Actually there has been pretty respectable horror representation at every Collectormania, in fact EVERY Showmasters event has had at least one horror guest who hasn't signed in the UK before. Let's not forget that at C1 Showmasters brought Robert Englund to the UK for his first ever signing. At C2 we had the legendary Rutger Hauer (still one of the best guests at any show ever in the UK in my opinion) At C3 there was Michael Berryman and at C4, David Naughton who were two of the nicest guys I have had the pleasure of meeting. Most recently at LFACC we had Bill Johnson. OK so horror hasn't dominated the line up in the same way that LOTR, Star Wars, Star Trek have, but maybe that's because Collectormania isn't a horror convention. Being a mainstream show they have to cater to mainstream tastes and horror is just a small proportion of all film fandom. At the end of the day it's not just about how "easy" a guest is to secure an appearance from, any guest has to be financially viable and unfortunately getting an obscure character from a cult horror movie isn't going to bring enough extra people into the show and ultimately they won't cover their costs. If you want to see these people, you have to go to a specialist con where you might pay £50 to get in. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that if that's what you're into, it's just the way these things work. As for saying that you can't be bothered meeting Brad Dourif or the Braindead guys because of the LOTR fans.... Well that just makes me question how much of a fan you really are JS This is ridiculous, I said I wasn't a big enough fan of Brad Dourif to queue hours to get his autograph. If it was a Dawn of the Dead star for example I would queue hours, Ok?, I never said I couldn't be bothered. I made that pretty clear in the last posts I have done. I understand that loads of people will want to see Kristy Swanson and Jake Lloyd. This just started of with a question of what you though, people have answered, and its turned into an all out shouting match. Lets just say some people are happy,some people are disappointed.

Ok i rate myself as a huge horror fan and must say that this upcoming collectormania has an amazing horror lineup - Brad Dourif - This man is a horror great, all the childs play movies and also movies like body parts etc. Chucky is one of the most recognised horror characters there is. Robert Englund: The man has done numerous horror movies and of course is most famous for his potrayal of freddy krueger. Any horror fan would want to meet him! Ken Kirzinger: He was jason in freddy vs jason, now that makes him on my opinion a TOP guest! Harry Sinclair and Jed Brophy: Braindead is one of the greatest horror movies of all time and these 2 guys are 2 main characters from the movie. Jed Brophy plays Void and Void is a huge part in the movie and has some seriously hillarious scenes. Clint Howard: Now this guy is somebody i have wanted to meet for ages, he has been in tons of cult horror movies. Umm has nobody seen Ice Cream Man? That movie is classic and one of my fav movies and he is so supbebrb in it. Also he has appeared in loads of other horror flicks most recently House Of The Dead. Now considering that collectormania is not specifically aimed at horror fans I think horror fans should be seriously happy with the guests that have been announced. These are top guys here from some of the top horror movies ever. Collectormania has always catered for horror fans just look at last year - doug bradley (hellraiser), david naughton (american werewolf in london), robert davi (maniac cop 2 and 3), corey feldman (gremlins and friday the 13th. How can horror fans not be happy? Name me another show in the uk that has this many top horror guests present? Also those complaining about tonight's guests what is wrong with you people? You are clearly just LOTR fans, and lots of you LOTR fans are becoming very greedy and starting to think that showmasters have some kind of obligation to provide you with LOTR guests, anyway already several have been announced! The lineup for C5 is so wide and varied everyone should be happy. There were so many people complaining about lack of star wars guests at the last 2 collectormania's, well showmasters have now announced a load and people still moan! And as for last night's guests they were brill. Jake Loiyd is supbebrb for any star wars fans, he has also did some other class movies such as a personal favourite of mine - jingle all the way. And Kristy Swanson was the original Buffy, as a Buffy fan I am absoloutly over the moon, and come on guys she is gorgeous! I never would have thought showmasters would have Joe pantaliano as a guest, this man has did hundreds of movies and tv shows. So should appeal to many people movies: Matrix, Bad Boys etc. TV shows: Roswell, Handler etc! Then you have guests like Brian Blessed who has loads of fans. Penny Johnson who will be a popular guest as she is a series regular on 24 and has been in star trek and also hills ahve eyes part 2. And star trek fans, there is plenty for you also to enjoy. Now people stop complaining the lineup for true movie and tv fans should be a dream come true. A fantastic lineup and I truly salute you showmasters Ant Bohan Robert Englund has been here before. Most horror fans have his autograph already, he is not a new guest. You may be pleased with Ken Kirzinger but he is not Jason in my opinion. I can name another show with better horror names, but its against the law on this message board, so I cant. Anyway, obviously everybody is just going to disagree with everybody else, So there is not much point, in me trying to put my point across if everybody is going to repeat the same things to each other, I have already said a good few times what I think about the horror guests at the next collectormania.

Maybe there just aren't that many horror fans. But they are the people who want autographs from stars of movies from a while ago. LOTR and Harry Potter are Recent things. I would be interested to see if everybody wanted Billy Boyd or Elijah Woods autograph when they are 50.

I think people saying a guest doesn't impress them is just maybe misuse of a phrase, not to be taken to literally. Also, I have been to all the collectormania events so far, and I still dont feel that the Horror fans have been catered to. Last collectormania was LOTR, There have been a tonne of star wars guests already, and Harry Potter guests. The one person I was excited about was Kane Hodder, and he couldn't show in the end. There are the Braindead people, I love the film, but dont particularly want their autographs. Robert Englund - Already met, he has been there twice (I think) before. Brad Dourif - Would like to meet him for his Chucky connections, But he is going to be completely swamped with LOTR fans like I said before, and will probably be quite expensive, due to his LOTR appearance. I love horror films but am not a huge fan of the chucky films, therefore dont want to spend hours waiting in queues to meet him. It seems to me alot of the people who are disappointed are horror fans. Everybody's got a right to say what they feel, I agree it shouldn't be offensive. I am getting rather peeved at the amount of people who are trying to "calm"everybody down and stop them "fighting". I know they are only trying to keep the peace but Nobody has been hugely offensive, so let them have their say. Most of us are old enough to have a debate on a computer I think. I see listings at other venues where the same kind of horror stars go, so they can't be that hard to get hold of.
