  1. ...just waiting on my helmet now and then my new costume will be ready to rock for the GMEX!
  2. I just thought that I would add a thread here for the Star Wars fans amongst us...to help, support and just generally invite others to enjoy the childhood/adult dream of being one of the Star Wars saga characters in costume. As always - I had better kick off with my own, which I have modified recently with some new/more accurate accessories...

Excellent! From SW.com Star Wars Celebration Coming to Europe! September 25, 2006 To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars, Lucasfilm Ltd. and The Cards Inc. Group will throw Europe's largest Star Wars party ever! Taking over London's Earls Court Exhibition Centre for three days in July 2007, Star Wars Celebration Europe will be filled with live entertainment, celebrities from all six movies, special film and video presentations, an exhibit of movie props and costumes, exclusive merchandise, pop culture tributes, interactive events, a costume contest, and much, much more. Star Wars Celebration Europe will take place from July 13 to July 15 2007. "I'm thrilled that we're finally going to have an official Star Wars event in the U.K., and especially to celebrate 30 years of the saga," said Steve Sansweet, Lucasfilm's head of fan relations. "George Lucas has referred to the London area as the "spiritual home" of Star Wars since four of the movies were shot here, making this the ideal site for our first Celebration Europe event." Star Wars Celebration events have been held regularly in the U.S. since 1999 and are the ultimate festival of all things Star Wars for fans and enthusiasts of all ages. Celebration III, held in Indianapolis in April 2005, attracted more than 34,000 fans from all over the world. Celebration IV, being held in Los Angeles in May 2007, is expected to be the biggest event yet. Celebration Europe will be the first ever Celebration event held outside the U.S. and will share many of the highlights of Celebration IV in Los Angeles "Star Wars has always been a global phenomenon, and the U.K. has long been our second-largest fan base after the U.S.," Sansweet said. "With the continuing strength of Star Wars, it made sense to extend Celebration to Europe and I'm delighted to be working with one of our top European licensees, Cards Inc., as our partner on the show." One of the highlights for fans at an official Star Wars event is the chance to buy unique merchandise, and Celebration Europe will not disappoint, with an exciting and comprehensive range of exclusive products being sold. "Cards Inc. is excited to be working with Lucasfilm to bring this incredible event to Europe" said Darren Epstein, Managing Director of The Cards Inc. Group. "We will be working closely with fans, licensors, and all members of the Star Wars community to ensure that Celebration Europe is Europe's own unique event for all things Star Wars." Star Wars Celebration Europe will be presented jointly by Lucasfilm and The Cards Inc. Group, which will manage the convention on behalf of Lucasfilm. Keep checking starwars.com or celebrationeurope.com for updates about tickets, programming, guests, activities, entertainment, and exclusive merchandise for Star Wars Celebration Europe.

  6. Lots of us coming across from the North and North East then! This was an awesome show back in February and I am certain will rock da house again in November! Im coming down by car from just outside Durham, likely via Darlington.
  7. I can whole heartedly recommend Kristen's work - she is a total professional at what she does, as you will always see at events! She's also got a Jedi costume too with my group - am I bias? Hell no - check out her site for proof!!!
  8. ....so in answer to your question....yes, it will be a Star Wars-tastic costuming event and you will have everyone there from Stormtroopers to Mauls to Jedi, Vader and the rest of the gang! We will all be doing our bit there and making sure that you the public have a great experience! Thats what SM is all about See ya there!
  9. Hey Stevie79! You can contact me through the Rebel Legion site easily at www.rebellegion.co.uk I dont have the email address for the friend you were talking about - but I probably know someone who does (I am in contact with the French Base)! I loved that weekend at LFCC!!! If you need any help with your costume then just mail me - we are of course back at Manchester in November and it would be a pleasure to have you on board my friend if we can help! Showmasters events are great for costumers - the more the merrier - just wait till their July 2007 Celebration Europe event - they will knocok everybodies socks off!!! Small world hey?
  10. there was a great costume at LFCC....White Witch from Narnia - that was awesome!
  11. absolutely no problem...we're there both days...but we may ask for a small voluntary charity donation of whatever you can spare on the Jedi stand....we are collecting for a good cause - the Starlight Childrens Foundation
  12. hey abstract - how you doing mate? would be nice to put a face to a name this time - missed you somehow at the GMEX? Vader? Now I Might know someone who could help you on that one...I gather Vader always has a fun time everytime the Sith Lord has an outing... We all do what we do - professional or not - its just damn good fun in costume and I love to see everyone in theirs. Some of the people that take on the personas of their costumes can occasionally be a bit scary though....
  13. Hey Jackie - good to see you again - been a long time since that London picnic for the John Williams thing...cossie will be great - not seen that before - thats gonna be unique - great idea! Am I looking at the right Emma Frost....? http://www.x-men-legends.com/archives/imag...st_1024_768.jpg
  14. Costume now packed and Jedi Starfighter refuelled - we're on our way!
  15. Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never seen anyone in the Alien costume itself........I hope they are coming too?
  16. You'll be just fine - go with the flow - theres gonna be loads of us there - if you feel on your own look out for the Jedi - there will be a few of us around to say hi! Once you get into it you will be wonering why you have to leave your costume behin when you leave LFCC! lol
  17. Scutter - that costume rules! Come over and troop with us mate anytime!
  18. Janna and Bunni - be sure to pop by and see over at the FanForce and Rebel Legion table at some point over the weekend! The more costumers the better!
  19. That's the problem with that other place. From what I've heard it's starting to lose its roots. The anime there is like a virus. I for one can certainly say that Showmasters are amazingly supportive of cosplay and costumers - they are absolute stars and the experiences I have had so far at SM events has been awesome as a costumer. CM GMEX was full of costumers - anime and loads of sci fi brands from HP to SW to SG to Narnia and much, much, more - bring them on!!!!
  20. cant wait to meet all you StarGaters - this is going to be awesome!!!!
