If Jason can pull that one off, I'll buy them all (that's Jason and Mark Hamill and other big shots) dinner! Promise! It'll have to be on Saturday night, though... I'm coming over from Belgium and have to travel back on Sunday. -

Awesome! My favorite movie (and poster for autographs, i.e. ESB) is getting a boost out of this show! -

We are truly being spoilt here. This is going to 'complete' my posters alright. They are so full after this show that I can finally frame them. Thanks, SM, this is the 'Unofficial Celebration' alright! -
DIRK BENEDICT. Who wants to meet him JUST cos of CBB?
Bounty Hunter replied to nicky's topic in Collectormania MK
I've actually worked with him on a show in Belgium couple years ago. He is the most friendly person to work with. No fuss, no bulls***, just trying to make the best of his time with the fans. Very talkative, very friendly and always with a big smile. One of the few professional that I can actually say I enjoyed working with 100%. Thank god we do not have CBB in Belgium... (I think). -

HR, any chance you can update the ED website anytime soon? Aitch and several other people would love to see some photos. I've sent you mine already. Keep up the good work! -
I saw a sign that said the works would be finished by 8th December, so there shouldn't be a problem for the next show - if it's still going to be in Cheshunt...? Hi Aitch, I've sent my photos to the Empire Day webmaster, so he should be able to put them online soon. And then I haven't even mentioned the roadworks in Belgium and France on my way over to you guys. It took my friends and me over 6 hours in the car just to get there... But it still beats flying or taking the train (time- and moneywise)!

Just for the record, if jonnyx3 is indeed a 'Mark', it's not that nice bloke from Belgium :-) Pity it had to turn out this way. Oh, and Jason, you don't need to apologize for my being from Belgium. It's my parents that should apologize for me being born here - LOL! I understand you are looking for another venue for ED, but do hope it will not be too far away. Cheshunt is already 650 km for me and I love to come, but if it's in Manchester of even further north, I'll not be able to make it... Sorry for all those nice people from northern UK... But I would hate to miss out on these great shows. How on earth am I supposed to get my 500th signature on my posters otherwise... -

Hear, hear! And since I know the reason for her cancellation (and don't ask, for I'm not making this public), we should actually be a bit ashamed for the aforementioned! The reason is more than valid. While I understand we cannot take a cancellation at face value, sometimes the reason is so personal it cannot be made public. We should respect that fact. I wish to apologize to SM, Mrs Munroe and her representatives for my previous remarks about being dissappointed for her not appearing. I hope to meet her at an upcoming event. Jason has told me he'll do what he can to get her to come to one in future. Thank you, SM! -
While I travelled over 650 kilometers and spent quite a bit of time on the road, it was well worth it. I was in good company, had a good chat with the guest stars (they really had the time, which was nice) and was able to score 6 new autographs to my already nicely filled posters. It was a very nice day indeed! Looking forward to the next one.

Shame on you two! WTF?! I think most people would be pretty pissed if they bought a non-refundable Eurostar ticket and the guest pulled out after just a few days of being announced!! Bounty Hunter has a right to be upset and have a favourite guest that he prioritised...maybe he's met the others already. Thanks for being able to see it from my perspective too! Now, I do fear I failed in making myself clear completely. With or without Cathy, I would still come over (regardless of the eurostar-ticket not being refundable and having to travel for 6 hours to visit this convention). ED is a fun convention. I am happy with the guests there (and, no, I haven't met any of them and am very much looking forward to it), but got carried away when Cathy was announced. This was going to be a blast as I've been collecting since 1992 and have a collection of close to 800 different autographs (I'm sure most of you know where to find it, Google can help out :-)). Cathy is one of the autographs I have been looking for for ages! And I was bringing loads of stuff to get signed! So her cancellation enhanced my dissappointment and I posted too fast, without thinking it through. I apologize if I stepped on anybody's toes, but I meant well. Besides that, I do feel I have the right to moan once in a while. A forum is a public place where you can express your views, be them positive or negative. I rest my case See you all next Sunday. -

You may have a point there, Duke, but I presume sometimes the guest star doesn't want the reason to be known to the general public. SM has been known to mention the reason when they can. I have just been in touch with Cathy's agent and she said it was an obligation she couldn't get out of. That's fair enough for me. I'm sure Cathy will turn up at another event soon enough. Fingers crossed. -

Damn, she was the reason for my coming over... Since my Eurostar Ticket is non-refundable, I have no choice but to come over for these few guests... Pity. -
I hear you Graham, but that's what happens when you 'spoil' people with your other shows. We were all a bit startled that this show was scheduled for December, when we normally would have expected it in February 2007. At which time Jason might have found more people available and less stress from other shows. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to this edition also. While I'm very excited about Cathy Munroe, it goes without saying that the other names are every bit as exciting and rare. They are indeed all new names. See you in a couple of days!

Yeah, I've been saying this a while... WE NEED MORE GUESTS!
-
They've got the right photo now Aitch. Bunty Hunter had him listed as Mike Kirby on his site. We all get it wrong sometimes. Laurie Goode Laurie, Thanks for pointing that out, sir! I've updated my website.

You mean Toby Longworth and Margaret Towner. -
In that case, Michael, you are using the wrong image on the Empire Day website :-)

Dannyboy, what are you saying? The first 2 Naboo soldiers? At the previous Empire Day we met Mike Savva, David Sexton and Peter House, all Naboo Soldiers/Pilot in The Phantom Menace. -
Hey, guys, maybe you should open up a seperate thread to clubber each other like that, huh? This is supposed to be fun. I do not think the purpose of this forum is to battle personal fueds. Shall we get back on topic, then? Michael, It might be a good idea to replace this photo as I believe this is NOT Mr Kirby. I do believe you have the correct image on the Empire Day site though.
