Ah, I was just going to bring this thread to your attention but see there's no need! Have to agree though - if lots of people want to see a guest (or think there's a genuine chance of him/her actually appearing) then their threads manage to stay alive without the need for bumping!

I don't mean to be rude, but if that's your opinion then I'd suggest that when you know a guest is going to be busy, you should just buy a presigned 10x8 then. You wouldn't necessarily even need to buy one! I got a signed photo of JB via his website a couple of years back (after regretting not getting a 10x8 signed at LFCC 2005) for the price of a couple of stamps! Mind you, he's slightly more popular now so it's possible that he doesn't do these anymore.

I'd agree with that - it's like asking for hugs in photo sessions, it's just interesting to see what the guest comes up with themselves. Having said that of course, some guests (understandably) write the same phrase on just about every photo, whether asked to or not, or alternate between a select few.

A problem with "big name guests" catching the eye of the general public is that people like "us" tend to start queuing hours in advance to ensure we get to see them. If even you are prepared to pay £15.00/£20.00 to meet a guest, chances are if you didn't know anything until the event until you were wandering past, it's either too late to get a VT or, if you do manage to get one, you're going to be waiting around for hours.

I got a teeny bit carried away! I thought I'd only be there for half an hour or so but stayed a lot longer. How many photos of a Dalek does a girl need anyway? Shame I didn't get a photo that truly captured the freaky DT hologram though!

Yep, it's all New Who (well, there are some pictures of all the doctors in the entrance). Apparently they're going to be adding stuff from Series 4 once it's aired.

Oh sure, and they're under no obligation to sign anything/pose for photos after a show (particularly for people who haven't even bothered going to see it). I'd certainly be interested in seeing him at an event - let's face it, the guy's been in everything! He just scares me a little!

Hmmm, having seen Alan getting stroppy after signing maybe 8 autos or so after a show last weekend I'd personally say nope! Although I know he's doing an event next month so who knows? Maybe he is a possibility for future events.

That's a very valid point,. Jessalyn was lovely and Cristine was just awesome. Of course it's disappointing not to have main cast members but (and this isn't directed at Henry) they don't always make the best guests.

"If" there was enough good footage?!! How could there not be Here's hoping for that DVD. (And if they did miss any good bits, maybe whoever was filming in the front row could lend them their video to fill in the gaps!)

Again though, this comes down to attendees having respect for the guests. I was at an event last year where one of the guests was very frank about a co-star and creator of the show in question. And then it suddenly clicked - oops, this could end up all over the internet! So he asked people not to repeat it, and by some miracle, they actually didn't. To their friends, sure - but not on youtube or public Live Journals.
