  1. Yes! Dear God, yes! I would be the happiest man alive if they announced Baker, as that would be my "still living classic Doctor autograph collection" finished. Also, wouldn't have to spend a ton to go to Dimensions this year.
  2. Good man. I quite like Moonraker. If the film had been more like the novelisation it would've been a better film - no Jaws in the opening sequence and no Jaws' bloody girlfriend. Young Bond: fun, but hardly canon and, to be honest, a bit silly. Feels a bit bandwagon-jumpy what with Harry Potter and that other young spy (Ryder maybe? Someone Ryder?) sh!t. The Authorised Biography: a fun read, but not something I'd read more than once or twice. The Moneypenny Diaries: rubbish. Raymond Benson: his novels are almost uniformly mediocre, and his short stories aren't much better. Devil May Care: decent, but tries to hard to be Fleming-esque. I agree with almost all of that, pretty much word for word. Except for Devil May Care being decent - I despise Devil May Care, can't stand it. To be fair, I had decided after a couple of chapters that it was rubbish. May calls Bond? That won't wash with me Sebastian Faulks, no it will not. EDIT: Vicky is watching some kids art programme on CBeebies. This man is trying to convince me that it's an excellent idea to make 'fake books' out of cereal boxes to hide "secret toys" in. He is also convinced that his fake books are ultra-realistic... just look like cereal boxes painted red. Was kids TV this stupid when I was little? I seem to remember it being better than this.
  3. If you can, I shall build a statue of you. I have them, in fact I think I have multiple copies of Spy - but they have to go on the second shelf of Bond novels, alongside Young Bond, The Authorised Biography, The Moneypenny Diaries, The Raymond Benson short stories and Devil May Care. I love Spy, but Moonraker I can take or leave.
  4. Real Godzilla or Gino/Zilla? No. Mothra is next, I hope. So some guy was going to hook me up with Rebirth of Mothra 3 on DVD - but he can't ship to the UK. I wish I had an American friend.
  5. Having to quest to find a DVD is half the fun. "You fight well... in the old style. But you've caused me enough trouble. Now you face: the Shredder!"
  6. A mixture of DVDaf and a Database on the computer (which tells us where each disc is in the box) - I doubt DVDaf will ever be properly up to date though - it takes far too long to do.
  7. Well, without counting the DVD's I have on region 1 and region 2, I come to 1461 - if I were to factor in different versions of the same film I'd be well into the 2000's on my own - so between us Vicky and I will be about 2500.
  8. I would love my DVD's to be back in their boxes... and now that you can buy 15mm Spine 6-Disc cases, I've been making rubbish custom covers like mad - as soon as I have space, they're getting shoved in them.
  9. I keep all my DVD's in a big 1000 disc DJ case (and assorted other small fabric cases since we've gone past that number now) - so I don't think they'll ever kill me.
  10. They do not normally stay there - that is just the best shelf for picture taking. I hate my shelves, I can't fit all the Bond novels on one. Irritates me.
  11. Y'know what, I'll do it. I'm hoping to lose more weight by then anyway - so yeah. I'm in. I can also hook us up with a 2, if you want. It won't be great - probably an oversized black suit jacket instead of a frock coat, but it would do the job. Sweet. I'm gonna have a read through that just now. I really hope the guy selling these (ignore custom Dalton Bond - he refuses to leave the Bond book shelf) is back this year, he had a sweet looking Gamera that I'll want if I like the flicks.
  12. People at this thing are genuine costumers - whereas my rubbish costume will work at a rubbish halloween party filled with drunks.
  13. Zat mean you're costuming? I'm on a quest to get as many people to CMG as one of the Doctors as possible. Well, it's just for a Halloween party really. I would feel a bit of a bosom, lumbering about all unsuitable for the part...
  14. You know, that brings back memories. Destroy All Monsters is the only film in the series I haven't watched since buying them all on DVD... I'm worried cherished childhood memories will be destroyed. But I guess I'll have to throw it on soon. Hrmph. The leather wallet-thing for my 1st Doctor library card finally comes (tis perfect) and I get all excited about adding it to my "Eleventh Doctor Accessory Kit" only to find my rubber Jammie Dodger has gone missing. DOUGIE SMASH!
  15. Indeed, it was Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla that got me back into the series - long after a childhood spent obsessed with a battered Destroy All Monsters VHS has ended. I guess a part of me just wishes that the Millennium series was an ongoing series, rather than a series of one offs (with the exception of Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and Tokyo SOS) Rebooting every time... I dunno...
  16. Just bought the Gamera Heisei trilogy, based on what Marty said. 2 & 3 will come long bevire Guardian Of Light, so I shall have to try and restrain myself.
  17. I just put both Doug theme tunes on my phone for ringtones. That's pretty sad.
  18. "The New York attack was Godzilla, right?" "That's what all the American experts claim. But our guys here have some doubts." Love it. Ah, Millennium Series... I never know what to make of you.
  19. I'm Douglas Paterson and I endorse this statement.
  20. Will do then, just as soon as I get paid for work. If I like them I'll get the Showa series bit by bit as I see they are being released in special editions over in region 1 land.
  21. Apparently once I woke Vicky up by launching into a stirring rendition of the Ghostbusters Theme Song in my sleep... if ever there's a reason for me to discover time travel, it's so I can go back and see that happening. By the way - should I check out the Gamera films? I was thinking about checking out the Heisei trilogy because of the low price on amazon for 2 & 3... but am somewhat put off at having to import an expesnive as hell Guardian of The Universe. Worth it?
  22. Now that The Silurians have been brought back, perhaps we can get Omega (another 'bad guy' who only appeared in two stories and is afforded a much greater place in Doctor Who history by fans than he really warrants) back to cause some trouble. We've finally delved into the second tier of Doctor Who monsters returning now (Macra in Gridlock do not count) so might as well get the best out of the way.
  23. Why is it that Resident Evil movies continue to be financially successful enough to warrant sequels when no one seems to actually like them? I don't know if I've ever seen or heard a positive comment about them (perhaps that's just because of the circles I keep) but somehow they keep coming.
  24. Indeed, the price is a major factor. £4.50-something a piece, yeah? I've paid £25 a pop for Doctors 1-3 and 7 - I've never bought the varients because of how expensive they are. Otherwise I would collect them all. This is a nice "cheap" way for me to grab a ton of them. I want the classic series TARDISs so much, but £35 each.... nah.
