  1. Hi Moderator.. I looked at the FB link you posted and I still can not find official confirmation that this event has been cancelled. I stand by my original post.. If you are moderating a thread where a huge population of your fan base will be returning for updates, and your saying there is a good chance that updates or even event cancellations will not be posted, then whats the point in even having this forum? You would be better off posting a link directly to the FB page? I would have thought you would want fans of both Showmasters / Kurtz-Joiner events to be kept updated as well as possible?
  2. Guys, I know you keep saying that Facebook is the official site to recieve updates but you have to realise, (and im sure that im not alone in this opinion) lots of people dont log onto your site on facebook all the time. A lot of people will just look at the News Feed once in a while.. So if you dont see it when it goes up.. People miss it.. Can you please keep the updates on this website too!! It seems theres no problem with regular guest updates for LFCC and Collectormania here but the smaller events are not given the same treatment.. Post the info on facebook, copy and paste into here... Job done. Its a shame this event is not happening, I went to the first one and was looking forward to the second as I have family ties to Elstree Studios, so fingers crossed it happens some where else historic. Cheers, D
  3. I actually may be interested in this if the line up, talks etc look good.. You should get in touch with Magnus or Daniel Falconer. They work at Weta and are ambassadors for LOTR and The Hobbit. They post regularly on the 'Shadow and Flame' website. Im sure everyone on here will probably already know about it but here's the link.. Its a very good site with lots of awesome members: http://www.wetacollectors.com/forum/index.php Personally i wont be buying tickets up front until i see the line up but fair play to everyone that does.. I would feel confident that the event will deffinately be going ahead this time.
  4. This is a fair point guys.. If you know the start / end times it would really help so those attending can plan theyre trip properly. Looking forward to the final batch of updates.. Should be aweshum!!!
  5. Nah, i disagree, this forum should be kept just as 'up to date' as any other medium like facebook. I use facebook, but this forum is where everyone has historically come to view event updates and in my opinion its easier to view. Moderators.. Updates here too!!
  6. What page are you looking at on Facebook?? Ive searched 'Elstree Studios', 'Showmasters', 'Empire Day' and cant find anything???
  7. Hi, Can you tell me what the capacity of the event will be? Will there be a tour of the studios or will it solely be held in one hall.? Ive already bought a couple of tickets as the day sounds awesome.. Just want a better idea of how they day will be run.. Cheers.
  8. This actually sounds pretty cool.. TBH id kind of given up on Star Wars themed conventions in the UK ever since celebration Europe as that was the first real chance to meet Mark Hamill and (in my opinion) nothing has really compared since.. But this is something really different and as its being held at Elstree makes it pretty special.. I may be purchasing a ticket!!
  9. Anyone else holding out for more Back to the Future guests??
  10. Not true.. I got this signed by MJF at a Hollywood signing two years back.. Cost me $50 for his auto in the middle. And Tom Wilson does sign BTTF items at his stand up gigs in the USA.. He just doesnt like doing specific signing events.. Although saying that ive seen pics of him at some in the past....... Get Tom Wilson and this show would be something REALLY special!!
  11. To add my opinion.. I would much rather see 4 larger conventions organised every quarter than have to juggle additional events throughout the year with a smaller volume of guests and less variety.. Maybe Two in London, One in Milton Keynes ( seeing as its the original location) and maybe another one in either Scotland or Wales. This would allow fans to budget for the events every 3 months and tie in side trips to meet up with friends, family, holidays etc For example, I love the idea of the Lord of the Rings convention at the end of the year.. Im from England but currently live in Wellington / New Zealand for a year so 'The Hobbit' buzz is all around the city at the mo. This convention sounds very cool and im contemplating tying in a trip home so I can attend, but TBH id much rather have the LOTR presence included in a large con for peace of mind that it will deffinately go ahead. Dont get me wrong, im sure you would never put together any convention if you were not extreemly confident it will go ahead - but providing a good variety of guests at larger events gives me more confidence. For example: The Indy cast members at one of LFCC a few years back.. Awesome event with plenty of variety and 6/7 cast members from the films.. Very cool Either way.. Ive been to many of your events in the past and you do a great job for us fans.. So cheers!
  12. Im pretty lucky as I live in Wellington / New Zealand at the mo so get to chat with guys at Weta Workshop quite regularly.. They had a casting call here a couple of months back for size doubles and you cant help noticing a distinct increase of either really tall or really small people around the city!! Stone Street studios also has a nice big green screen in theyre parking lot which im guessing is for some of the staged outside studio work.. Oh yeah and the Remarkables ski field in Queenstown has been rumoured to be one of the key locations for the Misty Mountains scenes.. Wellington Airport introduced a couple of trolls to theyre new Weta Giftshop several months back which made me wonder whether they were test sculpts for the film. So yeah its all shaping up nicely. The Hobbition Movie Set tours end mid January so I wouldnt be suprised if filming starts pretty much then. Youve gotta love New Zealand, its the home of middle earth!!
  13. Im hoping you guys are gonna pull Darlene Vogel (Spike) out the bag as the next Back to the Future guest.. Seeing as Ricky Dean Logan is attending and was part of Griffs gang, adding her to the lineup that would be awesome. Obviously Tom Wilson (Biff/Griff) would be outstanding but im not holding my breath for that one
  14. Just to clarify.. The pic you have provided of Griffs gang from BTTF2 - with the guys on the hoverboards does not feature Skinhead.. Skinhead can be seen during the scenes where Marty returns to 1985 and confronts Biff for stealing the sports almanac at the Casino.. Excelent BTTF guests by the way
  15. Hell yeah.. Prob the one outstanding franchise left from the 80's that Showmasters has yet to book new guests for an event.. Ernie Hudson would still be awesome.. But anyone else would be great if you could get them on board.. Even just for the Q&A.
  16. Quality day.. Word of advice for anyone arriving tomorrow tho.. Get there early!! I was there at 8.30 and the queue was unbelievable!! Got to be the busiest yet.. And seeing that Pete Facinelli couldnt make it today.. Tomorrow could be crayyyyyyyzeeeee. Well done Showmasters.. Anotha good show.
  17. Most def, it would be great if Showmasters could officially announce when they know that no further guests will be attending.. Im still hoping that this is not the case here! Surely theres another Goonies, BTTF or Terminator guest that can attend?????????????
  18. Is anyone else checking the forum every few hours incase that last minute 'Christopher Lloyd' caliber guest is announced?? Keeping those fingers crossed showmasters!!!
  19. Did the BTTF talk even happen on Saturday??? I was there on Sunday for 12.30pm and Jeffrey Wiseman + Claudia Wells wernt even aware there was one scheduled.. Gotta say this was really annoying seeing as the sun was out and it could have gone ahead.. To be taken as positive critisicm... showmasters def need to organise the talks better as this was the main draw for me.. Other than that, good effort.. Great to meet 4 actors from BTTF in one go!!!
  20. Wow.. One of the best guests ive seen announced since Christopher Lloyd last year.. Heat has to be one of the finest crime films in history and this guy is an outstanding actor.. Well done.. V Good effort..
  21. Hey there, same here.. Ive actually by holding out for Julian Glover for a while as i dont believe he did the LFCC event last summer when the majority of the 'Raiders' stars were in attendance.. Any chance he could get included in this event???
  22. Christopher Lloyd was by far the most 'in demand' guest today.. I would be interested to know whether everyone with a virtual ticket got to meet him or whether they will spill over into tomorrow.. Great guy to meet tho.. Just make sure anyone determined to meet him is there very early!!
  23. Hi Guys, wicked day.. Got to meet all the Raiders cast and eventually meet Christopher Lloyd which was excelent..... Although.... its prob worth advising those planning to attend on Sunday with the aim of getting anything signed, to get there very early... I managed to arrive this morning at 9.15 and already the Virtual Ticket # was up to 450. I was really fortunate to meet a guy who had a spare ticket at # 230 but this # was only being allowed to go through at 4pm!!! So FYI - If Christopher Lloyd is the main guy you wanna meet.. Id be aiming to get there for 9am absolute latest otherwise theres a good chance you will come away disappointed.. Showmasters.. Congratulations on a wicked event and in my opinion Christopher Lloyd has been the best guest youve had so far!!! Keep it up...
