  1. It was a monty python killer rabbit! i saw the guy, thought about trying to find a plush holy hand grenade (yes they made them) and counting "1, 2, 5" and hurling it at the guy and the rabbit! hehehe i also thought about asking if it had "sharp pointy teeth" and then do the eccentric hand movements from the film... i need to get out more!
  2. heck if they had asked for volunteers to man a bar, then im sure we could have scraped together a good crew! the bar staff, whilst being polite, werent overly experienced.. i was upstairs at the bar, and the person serving in our area of the bar went on break, and noone moved over to cover.. eventually we got served, but after a fair few people who arrived at the bar well after us! also, just one bar upstairs and a weeny one downstairs?!? they could have speeded thing up tremendously with a couple of people behind a table, with a large amount of cold bottles, and a bottle opener, thus creating a bottle bar on one side away from the main bar, and having the main bar doing pints, spirits and other bottles.. Would have speeded up the queues no end and ensure more people had enough to drink, especially as there were a large amount of people just queueing up for ages for a bottle!
  3. im gonna hate myself for saying it, but if it were free for autographs, then the queues would stretch out of the door, round the roundabouts and back to the M1! EVERYONE would want one, even just casual shoppers.. and there were alot of them about on the days... One good thing about the price is that it weeds out the people who really want to see them, from the people who arent as bothered. also if it were free, the agents would figure out a way round it.. like making the autographs not personalised and pre printed.. therefore negating the need for the star to be there.. and if they had to be there, they would just hand the predone photos out.. they wouldnt have any time at all to chat and pose for photos with a huge queue.... which would suck!
  4. Hi, I got autos from Dwight and Dirk, and pictures as well! they were both great guys, friendly and made my weekend! Dirk seemed to be an old hand at conventions, as he was always the first person signing.. saturday and sunday he was sat at his desk signing away and chatting about 5 mins after the centre opened, way in advance of the majority of other people! he signed my pic, of Face "To Justin, From a great guy - "Face" and me too - Dirk Benedict" Dwight signed mine "To Justin, "Howling Mad" Dwight Schultz" they both seemed genuinely pleased to be there, signing and talking to all the people.. both shook my hand and dwight said how all the people turning out for him "really means something". im definately hanging these pics on the wall, as they will remind me of the wonderful time i had.
  5. Cash bar.. and Billy didnt turn up as far as i know.. he would have been mobbed if he had! the bowling on friday night cost me about £5 for a game, and about £5 for a few drinks! i also spent about £5 on the arcade machines as well! so for 15 quid total i had a much better night than an event that cost 15 quid to get into! unfortunately, i think that if they try another one, they better convince the fans (us) that it will be worth going to, as many of us will be very sceptical... (oh btw a big thanks to Hobbit of Dorsetshire for organising the bowling on the friday.. i know it didnt all go to plan, but it was a great evening, and it was a pleasure to meet you!)
  6. im hoping i got the right person... You went to another convention as Gabrielle, and when i saw you on saturday night, you were outside near the Knight Rider car that someone had made, and shivering like hell! i put my shirt round you and made you a bit warmer! Is that you?? if so, Hello! Hope you have a good end to the weekend!
  7. costing £25, i would have! she is an ACTRESS! cant she at least ACT nice for the day? jeez, she probably gets paid enough for it! i get days at work when i really cant be doing with it, but yet i put on a smile, and act happy and courteous all day, and im on a lot less that she is! just my $0.02
  8. The food in the VIP area seemed to be a few pizzas.. certainly not enough to go round everyone! The bars, unfortunately, seemed to be a joke... ok, granted, from experience, i know that you cant have overly huge numbers of bar staff working, as they get in each others way, but you can prepare for it and make sure you have plenty of supplies, like vodka, blue wkd and drinks available to top up the bar, should you start to run out! Plus there were only two.. one in the VIP area and one upstairs! that was nowhere near enough! when i finally managed to get served i was kinda forced to get three drinks, as i didnt fancy queueing again for it, and didnt want to run the risk of them running out!! There were guests there.. Walter was mingling downstairs with a glass of wine and a nice jacket.. (i like walter, very friendly and approachable) as were several others.. As far as i recall, nicholas brendon only stayed for about 5 mins, then disappeared with minders.. dont think he even stepped foot inside! I think the reason why it was held where it was was cos there were underage people there. You wouldnt be able to book a nightclub on a saturday, or with underages mixed with adults.. The music was crap as well.. not common rotation, im not having a go at them, just that the sound system wasnt the best for the other music! i couldnt hear virtually anything at the bar upstairs, which didnt put me in the party mood! They needed to find a dedicated place for it, a large venue, like a nightclub, which has a decent speaker system, properly stocked bars, and more atmosphere! i had a hell of a lot more fun at the Forum bowling meet on the friday night than i did at the party!
  9. I heard that he was very badly jetlagged, and wasnt feeling too good this weekend.. some people are better with flying than others.. i think he will be alright next time.. i heard quite a few bad tales of the Carrie Fisher autographs.. including one of someone taking a picture outside the window of her, from a way away, so it wasnt that obvious, and one of her henchmen coming out and telling the poor guy off! And he only got the back of her head! It gets my goat.. these people (Carrie i mean, not michael) are quite happy to sit there, with fans paying a fair amount of money for a signiture (£25) and flatly refuse any photos at all, then why did they even bother turning up! they could have sat at home, signed all the photos and just posted them to Collectormania and sold them that way! If she doesnt want the photos taken and talking to the fans why does she come to these events?!?
  10. im gonna beat you all!!!!!!!!!!1111oneone nah, im not really.. ill have a try, but i can occasionally be really really poor at bowling... (think i once bowled a whole game and only scored about 16!!) anyway, still looking forward to it!
  11. oh, song.. erm.. Basketcase by Greenday! or id have to vote for Pain by FSM again ooh, or Want You Bad by Offspring
  12. I saw Four Star Mary live at Loughborough Uni Students union! they were great! quite down to earth as well! after the gig, they were more than happy to sign things.. even the flyers with them on it to advertise the event! They didnt charge a bean to sign stuff! oh, and it was free to get into as well! and £1 a pint night as well! which included snakebite and black! yummy!
  13. ooh, someone say bowling.. sounds fun. Ill be there anyway with veasse at least... though shes not into bowling much, i will more than likely be up for it! oh, and yeah im a lurker normally, this is my first post, so go gentle on me! lol
