  1. Has anyone had any experience of "postponed" photoshoots. In the old days refunds would be processed when the cancellation came through. Now the cancellations don't come through until the eve of the event. Not complaining as what is the point "go for the con and not the guests" is the mantra. Then obviously for survival reasons they stopped doing refunds which is triggering a lot of (quite right) hostile reactions to their events. In my case I actually would like vouchers but will I just be met by volunteers who don't have a clue what I am waffling about or has anyone actually had vouchers given on the day?? Sidenote I laugh at the "no refund / no transfer" yet my Robert Englund shoot is transferred without my consent so they can keep the interest rate for a year! I think not good people, I really think not!
  2. Horror guests are always a big draw, Scout Taylor Compton Tyler Mane (lovely to meet) Danielle Harris Malcolm Mcdowell (Has cancelled previosuly so would be great to have him back) Keith David (went down so well last time) Brad Douriff (Please!!!!) Bruce Campbell (Pretty Please!!) Cast of Hellraiser for a group cenobite shot (Pretty please with sprinkles) Robert Englund (always a treasure) Kane Hodder Bill Moseley (missed him at an event in sheffield) Sid Haig!!! And on a personal note how about Scott Adkins, he was the perfect guest at an event in Birmingham and I really mean that, he was a true great! and if you got Bill Goldberg I would love you forever!
  3. After seeing the Day of the Dead pictures and looking at the Hellraiser guests at Cardiff which I sadly cannot attend, is there anyway to get the Hellraiser cast over to Newcastle as well as the aliens guests. Hopefully there names will be added in time, which already seems to be happening but to get my alien 3 poster signed and also a group picture with the Hellraiser guests would be amazing and doesn't seem so far-fetched looking at their availability for other cons. But Kenneth Cranham for sure please please please!!!
  4. oohh yes please, very happy!!! This would be a great signature for my Hellraiser poster and very happy about the price. Please could the rest of the cast (with the likely exception of Doug Bradley, although he is a familiar and welcome face on the circuit) be included!! This is a great announcement for me
  5. Do you think with the starts of hellraiser being announced we could get the cenobites together (although I admit Doug Bradley might be a bit of a big ask) one showmasters event I am jealous of involved the cenobite group shot, I would love the chance to get that. If some of the Brighton guests were still free it would be great if they could be added to Newcastle
  6. Due to my exam I cannot go to Brighton but would love to see Jeanette Goldstein, George Romero, Alice Krige, John Kassir and Mark Rolston at this event as it isn't too long after Brighton and travel is much much easier :) please please please
  7. Do you, or anyone that has visited have any idea of capacity, it can be difficult for travel, but the option to get there at 9 is a lot more comfortable compared to the alternative of travel the previous day and throughout the night, usually I get there early but don't really have that luxury this time. Makes planning my way there a bit more challenging.
  8. Hi, I was curious when the photo timetable would be going online. Travel is definitely easier on the Saturday, but unfortunately the train would get me there for 9am exactly, have to worry about number of people attending and if I would miss any photoshoots. Thanks for the help.
  9. Hi, I am really late in booking, had a big university project to do. Would love to attend Brighton Comic Con on the Saturday as travel is easier, but can anyone please confirm if more Carl Weathers and George Romero photo shoots will be available? Batch 1 sold out and no mention of Batch 2. Thanks for the help.
  10. Well I have just woken up from my favourite comic con to date, I would like to start by thanking Kyle on the Robert Kurtzman table, he helped me get an autograph from Robert when my schedule wouldn't let me and was great to talk to and clearly enjoyed the day and answered the question I wanted to ask Robert. The staff on photo shoots D were perfect, really organised and funny. I heard from staff that people will complain and I just wanted to say I have no idea how this is possible. The number of people was fine for me, if there was a queue in one of the aisles I just walked a different way and wasn't late to anything. The number of new stalls was great with something new to see. My photos look absolutely perfect and I am so thrilled that I was able to go. But in saying all of this I did have one request, the older staff members were perfect but some of the younger ones didn't appear too interested and didn't know how to answer questions such as "Where can I find Photoshoot Area C" or sent people to the wrong lines, I understand it comes with experience and confidence in what you are doing, but when you have a long day to plan it makes things a bit harder. But I don't want to dwell on this, staff were perfect, the day was perfect and everything I have in my room I will cherish forever, hope everyone enjoyed it and got what they wanted from the day.
  11. Thank you for the help, I may just walk it as I predict getting there early, it was more based on my existing list and with the extras I am considering, especially with another big guest on Thursday I was hoping to ask those more experienced how much they can fit in a day and if I am being too ambitious based on my list. In the past its difficult with long gaps between activities but equally I would hate to ruin it by doing too much, any advice is helpful. Especially interested in dantheman205 getting 17 autographs and one photoshoot in a day!
  12. Hi Everyone, I was hoping for some advice. I usually allocate a budget for these events and have already booked the following; Robert Englund Diamond Pass Ken Kirzinger (Jason) Photo James Remar Photo Neve Campbell Photo And was going to aim for Ken Kirzinger and possibly Neve Campbell autographs The issue I am having is I am not local, and don't have loads of money for travel, would love an easy way from Victoria coach station to the Olympia without relying on taxis if anyone knows of one, please help. My other issue is I was originally heading down on Sunday only for the quieter day to relax and enjoy myself (no work on Monday :) But with the announcement of Bill Paxton, Malcolm Mcdowell and William Forsythe I would love to meet them also but don't think I would be able to fit it all in one day without manically rushing everywhere. Please could I ask for some advice on what people recommend and how much they feel can comfortably be fit into a day without running around headless chicken style. Thanks for the help.
  13. As soon as I saw him announced I wasn't sure between getting my Road Warriors Bio Signed, or getting a photo-op, LSM your account of being able to wear the shoulder pads makes me really want a photo-op, any suggestions or advice from people who have met him previously? And to simply say get both, unfortunately is not an option Damn student budget!!
  14. Great guest and agreed my student loan will be stretched to the max, does anyone know of any good sites / stores to buy a jason machete please?, I would love to get a good replica signed, but not too pricey please as mentioned student expenses sadly do not cover amazing conventions
  15. If anyone has seen the new additions to Wizard Con or Bruce Campbell's Horror Fest, they would be amazing!!!! Bruce Campbell, Tobin Bell, Liam Mcintyre, Manu Bennett, THE UNDERTAKER!!!!, Kane, Michael Jai White, Any of these names would make my life! Especially as we are being told bigger names will be appearing, it is shaping up so far, with some surprisingly big names coming up, but still have to hope :)
  16. I too would like to thank staff and volunteers. Agreed that people that turn up on the day were rude and not organized. I was first to the organizers booth and had to wait as a man got every card rejected before he yelled rudely at his wife to get her card. However SM can do nothing about that, although I would love to organize an extermination of such people for anyone interested. I have read comments about the air con, it did seem really stuffy in the Carrie Fisher and Ian booths, although they did have walls up so maybe that was a factor with all the people. My comments were about lighting, my camera has quite a bright flash so I turned it off to prevent blinding guests or had it on lower, but some pics kept coming out orange from the odd choice of lighting. More importantly for me is photo shoot tickets. SM have no control over guests commitments, but quite a few guests had to pull out last minute, but even for those who pulled out earlier, it seems a waste of postage to have to wait for a refund and then order for someone else. Could people not be entitled to an online voucher which can then be used and an email sent to them, 2.50 postage is quite a lot, especially as I had to keep changing the layout of my day and guests to meet. Other than that I had a truly lovely day on Sunday, always avoid the Saturday, and am looking forward to the next, volunteers and staff were amazing, now to look at my bank balance and cry a little bit :)
  17. I attended on the sunday, owing to previous knowledge of how busy the Saturdays can get. I was hoping that thanks could especially go to the staff at the Carrie Fisher and Ian Mcdiarmid lines. The blue shirt staff were really knowledgeable, more than some red shirt staff, and helped me with clashes and organizing parts of my day. Also Photoshoot D had great staff for the same reasons, as I could only attend the Sunday (really for Ian Mcdiarmid) I had to fit in a lot in a day so huge thanks to staff for that!!!
