  1. GOLLUM INTERVIEW HELM'S DEEP WITH A TWIST HOUDINIA
  2. bloody hell! how did i forget star wars episodes 1 and 2? while i'm here i'll add any film that i'm supposed to be impressed by because people swear alot or there's lots of gore. boring, boring, boring. it's as if it's supposed to shock me. even if i was shocked by this pap it's not the same as being impressed. they're all the same anyway and just help to stop people from enjoying films like reservoir dogs. i never saw it at the cinema because all anyone would tell me was that a guy gets his ear cut off and there's lots of swearing. when i got round to watching it i realised that the excellence of that movie was lost on 90% of the audience - probably because they'd been trained to think that swearing and gore equals good movie. 3. the thin red line - one of only 2 films i've walked out of. pretentious nonsense last of the mohicans - the other film i walked out of. pretentious nonsense. 13 ghosts - just about any ghost movie. i was forced to watch this film despite knowing that ghost movies are usually s*** and draw their only strength on the audience's belief in the paranormal rather than decent story, direction, editing, script, acting, lighting, score, etc. the matrix - all 3. boring and an insult to my intelligence braveheart and other wildly innacurate 'historical' epics. basically an ok movie but it crossed the line into s*** when it was claimed to be a true story. fargo got away with the same stunt because it was GOOD. these are just off the top of my head, no doubt i could think of loads more... infact, what about van helsing? HOUDINIA
  4. delusions are not addiction. perpetuating this kind of misconception only discourages people with mental health problems from seeking help. HOUDINIA
  5. good point HOUDINIA
  6. what ppl want ppl get? i'm in lovce with a girl, but i can never be with her. life is not easy. and we rarely get what we want unless we work our asses off for it, and thats when its worth it. crap like derren brown is a curiosity - people don't necessari;y want to talk to someone, but instead to see 'what the f***...?' in which case they aren't getting what they want, except for answers - and there are safer ways to get those answers. like reading a book, or talking to someone with experience. anti depression tablets?? like alcohol, they dull the pain and they are addictive. they will eventually stop working. i was joking and i meant business wise, like ryanair, people want low prices, low prices et voila! and how popular are ryanair now? ohhhhh but very derren browns not crap. *humfh* my apologies - however, some ppl will use those same arguments, and mean them with all seriousness. i just really don't agree with making light of the devil and the dead, when its in terms of ouija boards and that kind of thing. no one knows the results, and if it must be studied then let it be behind closed doors with only the results being released, rather than asking everyone possible to participate - indeed to me it only makes it more suspect to ask for more participants - it would suggest to me that there is additional power being used - possibly without even the viewers consent - to open the way to death. with enough power, perhaps the devil himself may be drawn to earth... and if such happens through the actions of 'entertainers' doing televised seances, i hope i've died before it. "may you be forty years in heaven before the devil knows you're dead" hmmmm i think i know where youre coming from death and life are two different things, like CHALK AND CHEESE! i do believe this kinda stuff is possible, the things of just FEELING that somethings wrong, and reports of ghosts, yea yea, they may be hallucinations of sorts, but somethings gotta put em there. as taught it RE, the soul lives on! i must have sounded really religious. im not.. hahahaha someone shut me up, im trying to go deeper than my dumb head should be aloud. i blame derren. but hes still not crap. derrens so miiiiiiiighty! and sexy deep... very deep HOUDINIA
  7. anti-depressants aren't addictive. you might be thinking of tranquilizers? HOUDINIA hey, even pain can be an addiction for some ppl. get it into your head that you can only be right with anti-depressants, and you're hooked. doesn't matter what the actual inherent properties of them are, your own mind is what hooks you on them. erm... your speaking to a psychiatric nurse HOUDINIA
  8. anti-depressants aren't addictive. you might be thinking of tranquilizers? HOUDINIA
  9. because when you ask the question, "is there a spirit present" and the answer is "no" it would still mean yes... if you see what i mean HOUDINIA
  10. it's a pity you closed your mind without even viewing the evidence. you missed a good show. HOUDINIA
  11. hey hey that's me. they re-vamped it recently so it appears brand new. there are some well established nutters to watch out for though HOUDINIA
  12. at the risk of starting to sound like his agent, GO SEE HIM LIVE. it's never the same on the telly and he does so much more on stage AND you have the advantage of knowing it's not a set-up. if you can't do that you'll have to make do with the tv series for now. it's on again on friday i think. HOUDINIA
  13. derren brown is a stage magician who doesn't believe in the paranormal and has no supernatural powers. he does this kind of thing each week in his tv show. more is explained at these links... DERREN BROWN HOME SITE CHANNEL 4 MICROSITE HOUDINIA
  14. this is along the right track but there's one assumption most people made... to be more accurate, there was one subtle suggestion that derren made and most people, including yourself, accepted that made it so amazing. HOUDINIA
  15. thank you so much everyone. kenny got me a balloon flight! woohoo! HOUDINIA
  16. as has been done for over 100 years... stage magician harry houdini desperately wanted evidence that he could contact his beloved mother on 'the other side'. he searched relentlessly for the last part of his life and was infuriated by fake mediums. his skills in performance magic meant he was unable (not unwilling) to just blindly accept even the most convincing mediums. you can imagine how suggestable and desperate the general population was after the horrors of the first world war when most people has lost a father / son / husband / brother in terrible circumstances. this was when houdini devoted his life to the search for a genuine psychic. he exposed every single medium he ever saw, much to his own disappointment. sadly, he never was able to contact her and despite making a pact to return himself when he died, he never did. he agreed secret signals with his wife Bess so she would know if he genuinely had returned as a spirit. during a much publicised seance he did indeed appear to return but later Bess confessed that she had sold out for cash and that it was all fake. sad story. i'm amazed that people are so ready to believe that someone is genuinely psychic just because they say they are. it's clear that every part of it can be faked... how can we ever know who's for real? we may not be in the equivalent of the WW1 aftermath but by even seeking out a psychic you are already in a suggestible state. it would be easy to take advantage of that. HOUDINIA
  17. very impressive but it's still better when you're in the room with him doing it (as i will be on monday). whatever your beleifs (was he feeding them information? did he accidentally disturb the spirits for real?) the fact is that it's very hard to produce these effects but, nevertheless, it is possible. things to think about... how did a person who was retrained move the paper? Why did sally choose jane's room... before Jane was chosen by the others? how did BOTH girls know to write London? why did most people choose Jane? why did derren swap the participants on the ouija board? why was nobody encouraged to examine the objects on the table? why did everyone have to breathe in time and hold hands? how did holly know such SPECIFIC facts? why choose 12 people to do the seance? most importantly, as vamps points out, why tell them a simple yet disturbing story right at the start? it has the same effect as telling someone of your own psychic experience. derren was indeed influencing all the choices that were made and all the things holly said when she was channelling... but HOW? those people were genuinely scared, even though they KNEW it wasn't real. imagine how easy it is to con people who WANT to believe you are psychic. as for why so many people picked jane?... all i'll tell you is that i hope you recorded that part and can try it again... 18. whether you believe in this stuff or not please watch this program. it will be a real eye-opener... and no mistake 10:35pm CHANNEL 4 HOUDINIA
  19. thanks very much everyone! the seance is worth watching. i've seen him do this 3 times live on stage and believe me it is more stunning than any other magician, psychic or medium you may have seen. some real food for thought if you're considering consulting a psychic. 10:35pm, channel 4. HOUDINIA
  20. thanks mark. and thanks for my fab prezzie... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. head ok but i'm experiencing this mysterious depression on turning 30... photos are done so will show you asap DON'T FORGET THE SEANCE ON THE TELLY TONIGHT!!!! HOUDINIA

HOUDINIA Hey babe, I was planning on watching Derren Brown tmorrow actually more out of curiosity than anything. And why do you not want to get stuck in a box??? I thought that kind of thing was right up your street. I can't believe you went to Disneyland Paris, thats cool. We will be taking the kids at some point, but I'm waiting for Harry to get a bit older. At the moment I don't see the point as he is a little young and on top of that he has to have his own passport, and since kids his age are alays changing looks, I don't see the point of gettign him one just yet. I'm sorry we didn't get to go for a drink as well, but everyone I was with were starving, we hadn't eaten all day, so we decided to go and walk round London for an hour trying to find a restaurant. Ended up in a french restaurant near Covent Garden, very nice it was too. How cool is that, your website being linked with Andy's official website, can't wait to see it, let me know if you need any help with it. I'll hopefully see you at the meet on 19th June if your going. If not, maybe we can arrange to get together over the summer or something. Catch ya later huns Vamps xxx Ps hello kenny!!!!!!!!!! Is Houdinia still working you hard???????? LOL Bless him lol indeed i AM working him hard. he's an absolute star and has basically been a housekeeper for a few weeks. we were in covent garden too, well, drury lane (nearby). went to Sarastro. they have live opera and chamber music. very weird as the restarant is really tiny and done up like a theatre... except we were dining in the stage area! walked to the hotel with kenny dressed in a huge scottish flag singing "caledonia you're calling me" off out tonight with a bunch of people for birthday dinner so i'll catch ya soon HOUDINIA
