  1. I personally thought that Unforgiven was one of the WWE's better PPVs for a while. All of the matches had been laid out very well, and the talent seemed amped up for once. Maybe the recent troubles have made those wrestlers still working on TV up their game to secure their spot. The writers did well with the matches, and none of the results sucked. ECW Heavyweigth Title Match: CM Punk defeated Elijah Burke - CM Punk did an excellent job to help elevate Elijah Burke to main event status. With the writers wanting CM Punk to face multiple threats from Big Daddy V, Elijah Burke and John Morrison, it was a sensible result. WWE Tag Team Titles Match: Matt Hardy & MVP defeated Deuce & Domino - Hardy & MVP are doing a great job of giving genuine longevity to their feud. A good match with great work from Hardy & MVP. No DQ's for Carlito: Triple H defeated Carlito - Hunter is doign the right thing not demanding to go straight back to the title picture which needs him. He is not match fit and is also helping raise Carlito, amongst others, to main event status at a time when the title picture is poor on decent talent. A great story told with a standard Triple H finish. WWE Women's Title Match: Candice Michelle defeated "The Glamazon" Beth Phoenix - This story is in it's infancy and has a long history. It would have been too obvious to give Beth Phoenix the win, and would have damaged Candice Michelle's hard work to build her up as credible. It also helps build The Glamazon up to be the new Chyna!! World Heavyweight Title Match - Triple Threat Rules: Batista (New Champion) defeated Rey Mysterio & The Great Khali - The big surprise in this match was that The Great Khali has obviously been working on his in ring skills. This was a good match with a wicked and painful ending when Batista powerbombed Rey onto Khali! World Tag Team Titles Match: Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch defeated Paul London & Brian Kendrick - A great match and another step in a long programme between both teams. Kendrick & London continue to impress with their great tag work and mind boggling moves. WWE Title Match: Randy Orton defeated John Cena by DQ (Cena retains title) - A great hard hitting match with the somewhat cheap looking DQ ending. But, as the announcement of a Last Man Standing at No Mercy shows, this feud is far from over. Look for Cena Sr to be Cena Jr's manager with a spot at the end of the match. The Undertaker defeated Mark Henry - A well told and planned out match, with an amazing ending of the Undertaker pinning Henry following the Last Ride from the second turnbuckle. The Taker motions for the title at the end of the PPV. All in all a great PPV. Top marks to the WWE for upping their game with the matches. Hopefully they will continue with the longer storylines and way that they are told. It makes for better viewing.
  2. WHAO THATS A BIG POST Monkey King...better start reading now as I have anothe rone brewing mate..
  3. Recent interviews given by Jeff Jarrett, Dixie Carter, Jim Cornette, Kurt Angle and many other behind the scenes road agents and bookers, the general direction that the company wants to go in is longer matches with select roster members - as in people like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Petey Williams etc who can wrestle long matches and good ones at that - and have more matches. There has been frustration at the amount of gauntlet matches for the X Division or Tag Team Division, instead of individual matches. I also think that you will see people like Dustin "Black Reign" Rhodes/Runnels and similar characters disappear. There is rumour that Sonjay Dutt may drop the Guru gimmick as it hasn't caught like Black Machismo has with Jay Lethal. You will also see two main events, with one rounding out the first hour, and the second as the final match - the same as on Raw most of the time. Although there are a number of ex-WWE employees on the roster, the majority of them do work well. I honestly think that Jarrett/Carter/Cornette will learn from the WWE's failings. They have already started by letting Andrew "The Punisher/Test" Martin go as he bulked up from 250lbs to 275lbs in the space of 2 weeks when he first arrived. Although there is no indication he is doing it illegally, Jarrett/Carter and Cornette freaked out as Benoit had just passed away. I think that they will most definitely push their X and Tag divisions as they are so deep. As regards Angle having all 3 TNA titles and the IWGP title, it was done to build both him and Samoa Joe into major main event stars who stand out from the majority of the roster. It is similar to what they are doing with Christian Cage and Abyss. Expect AJ Styles to be brought up to main event status by Christmas, and expect Sting to be the one to help many of them to that level. Steve "Sting" Borden has said that he does not mind doing the job if the person is used properly afterwards. Kurt Angel recently flipped out as he was furious that they made Jay Lethal look liek a jobber with Samoa Joe after he had put him over cleanly - his request and against the original booking of an inteference ending - to win the X Title. I personally hope that Impact does not go to Mondays as we will lose out. It will eventually go live each week on Spike every Thursday, which is best as it means we get to see all programmes all of the time.
  4. Impact is shown UNCUT at 10pm on Bravo 2 every Saturday. However, it is repeated at Midday and 5pm (the two previosu editions) but in a cut version where no chair shots, table spots etc are shown, on Bravo 2 again. Once again, this is on a Saturday. Pay Per Views are shown between 9pm and 1am UNCUT just three days after they air live in the USA on a Wednesday evening. They are generally repeated on the following Saturday evening (6 days after the PPV airs live) at 6pm, but it is cut to remove chair shots etc. If you go to www.bravo.co.uk and click on Bravo 2 TV Listings, you will see the next 7 days. Check out for older PPVs from this year that are shown during the daytime. Next PPV is Bound For Glory on October 14th in the USA, but will be shown UNCUT at 9pm until 1am on Bravo 2 just three days later on the 17th of October. Any more questions, then fire away or mail me. Cheers AJ
  5. A senior writer on the show was interviewed two weeks ago and confirmed that Sarah will reprise her role in the latter episodes of the season. He confirmed that she was anxious to return to filming as she was disappointed to miss the start of the new season. He also confirmed that the potential reason for her disappearance may well be kidnap, although he said that they had 6 other storylines ready for her.
  6. According to a press release this past week, Sky and Virgin have meetings planned for late October/ early November.
  7. Judus Masias - only saw his hand on No Surrender. I will wait to see Impact tomorrow. Rikishi in TNA - I will wait to see how they package him. Sting vs Angle at Bound For Glory - I was looking forward to Angle vs Jarrett, but Sting vs Angle is good. Womens Division in TNA - hopefully it will take them away from mucking up the Men's matches. 2 Hour Impact - I think that they will manage it. I just hope that they use the talent they already have before bringing in too many names from WWE etc. Definitely looking up for October 4th. Hello MK..how's tricks? AJ
  8. The Sandman has recently updated his MySpace blog entries to ask fans not to blame the WWE for his release. He goes on to explain that releases are the nature of the business, thanks the McMahons and HHH, and vows to get back to the WWE in the future. Disclaimer: These facts are in Sandman's blog and not my views.
