  1. Hear, hear. ALL THE MAIN CAST from TNG ought to be invited as a matter of course I'd have thought. It is the 25th Anniversary of TNG this year, after all.
  2. John de Lancie. Excellent. (Denise Crosby also excellent, although I've already met her.) Nice way to round off this week's guest announcements. Let's hope there's many more to come! (Please, please can we have David Warner? A marvellous actor and a Trek stalwart - would love to meet him.)
  3. Why didn't you park in Asda or Ikea? Time-limit on parking. It might have been okay I suppose, but wasn't prepared to risk it just for one autograph. Ah I see... for what its worth, I'm not aware of Asda MK ever issuing tickets (and I used to park there for the football). Ikea (next to Asda) has no time limit. (Though next time, the stadium car park shouldn't be such a mess!) Ah, an advantage perhaps of already being familiar with the area :) I guess I'd become a wee bit annoyed at the lack of parking by that point and wasn't prepared to chance my arm by leaving it in some other random car park. Oh well. (If I go again I think I'll wait for them to finish the building work first!)
  4. Was a bit surprised that there didn't seem to be any marshals directing the traffic round the car parks. Maybe this wouldn't be needed if the car parks were not in their current disarray, but it would have been helpful to have had some control over the car parking with respect to the spacing of the parked cars and the general flow of traffic. That said, from what I could see, the car parks weren't really in any fit state to accommodate such a huge influx of cars. That's not Showmasters fault of course, although it does call into question whether the mk stadium is actually a suitable venue for such a massively popular event, given all the building work that's still going on there.

  6. I got there just after 9.10am this morning. There were no spaces at all round the hotel side; access was limited and difficult (no through roads/cordoned off areas/crash barriers etc). I drove round to the main entrance at Gate 4 round the other side - it was much the same. I asked some helpful looking folks near the entrance if there was anymore parking areas I'd somehow missed, but they re-directed me back to the hotel-side, despite me saying that's where I'd just come from! I drove round all of the areas for about an hour without success and then decided to go home. I could have put the car in the Asda car park I suppose (I saw some people who were clearly going to Collectormania do just that), but the time on that is limited to a 2-hour stay, then it's a £60 fine. I also saw a lot of people blocking others in with how they were parking in any vaguely available bit of tiny space in the mess that was the stadium car park. I didn't fancy leaving my car in any place where it was liable to get blocked in or worse pranged - and given the amount of cars that were pouring in that would have a been a distinct possibility I think.
  7. Had to give up and go home before even getting in. I got there after 9 and couldn't get parked - the whole place was gridlocked. Very disappointed. TBH, if I had known before hand how busy it was likely to be, in tandem with the car parking being so limited (a lot of it was cordoned off due to roadworks/building works) I probably wouldn't have driven down there. What a shame.
  8. Yes, good idea. I shall certainly have a look round first. Maybe tricky as David Bradley is more a character actor than a big film or cult TV star. I can't see there being any stills from BBC costume dramas but you never know!
  9. Thanks. Yes, I suppose the logistics of finding out just this one little tidbit of info is a bit unreasonable. :-) My reason for asking is that I'm having some difficulty finding suitable pics/items for David Bradley that aren't related to either 'arry Potter or GoT (neither of which I'm a particular fan of). Bizarrely I've got a National Trust magazine with his picture in as a back up! Not ideal, but it's about his other acting work, so that will probably have to do!
  10. I wasn't asking for a complete list - but fair enough, I suppose this was a bit of a long shot. Never mind.
  11. I have a question about the 10x8s related to a specific guest, if anyone in the know can help me. I understand it isn't possible to post what particular images are going to be available, but is it possible that some general information about the images could be given? For instance, it would help me very much to know whether the only pics available for David Bradley are going to be related to either Harry Potter or GoT. I'm guessing this is probably the case, but as I'm only interested in non-HP/GoT pics having this info would help me decide what I need to bring or obtain to get signed. Hope someone can advise?
  12. The entry ticket prices reflect that. We don't yet know how much the talk tickets actually cost on an individual basis. My point is that if they charge too much for the talk tickets separately that won't be good value for those of us that don't have access to 'priority seating' (and that includes the Silver ticket holders as well, who only get four of the captains talk tickets included with no mention of priority seating). I don't think it's unreasonable to hope that the cost of a talk ticket should not exceed the price of a decent theatre ticket, especially as the standard ticket holders will be at the back with less of a view (presumably?). That's all I'm saying - not that I expect 'tiered pricing' for those seats. this is why i will not be attending paid talks as I cannot afford gold or silver and I only have standard and considering I will be at the back... I dont see any point in paying for them.. I am just happy to meet them all at my auto signings and photoshoots I can understand that. I don't mind paying for the talks: I actually don't expect any of the celebrity talks ('headline' guests or otherwise) to be completely free, but I think the prices for those of us who might inevitably be at the back should be reasonably affordable, especially if you want to go to more than one talk. If they charge a premium just to get in the auditorium I shall be following your excellent lead and confining myself to a few autograph signings.

  14. Yes and no. My willingness to be miles away from the stage and only see/hear the guests on a video feed would very much depend on how much they're going to be charging for the talk tickets. I've paid about £35 to see Patrick Stewart performing at the RSC and that was a good seat for an afternoon matinee with a clear and excellent view. I presume that seating/organisation will be somewhat different at an event like this, but if the experience is not as involving, i.e. being more dependent on viewing screens if you are right at the back, I hope the price will reflect that. YMMV, though.
  15. I've been right at the back in talks with close to 1000 people in and still been able to see what was going on. Something I know SM do at some of their 'weekend' events - I'm not saying this will be done at this one as I don't know, but I'd guess it's a possibility - is have large screens at the side of the stage with a camera feed from a cameraman near the front to make sure that even the people right at the back have a good view of the action. Ah, I see. I had thought that perhaps this could be the case. I guess it would then depend on how much the talk tickets cost as to whether watching camera feeds would be considered worth the money. Edited to add: if SM can furnish any info about ticket/seat numbers or any info about the likely capacity of the auditorium that would be great. I guess I'm more used to booking tickets for things where you have some idea of where you will be sitting in relation to the stage, as in when buying theatre tickets, for example. Thanks.
