Haruka
In the Masquerade entry rules, it says this: All types of costume may be entered within reason. Costumes from Film, Anime, Video games, Music, TV, comics, books, theatre and even original costumes may be entered. The bit I'm interested in is bolded, of course. I'm considering doing Cathy from Wuthering Heights for G-MEX in November. I might also have a Heathcliff, if I'm exceedingly lucky. To do so, how would we get around the issue of reference pictures? Do we not have to provide them, or is there something we have to do in their place...?
Cookie
For my "personal" concept costume, i had a drawing made by an artist friend used as a reference image... Maybe you could have the same?
Haruka
I might be able to find one of my few artistically talented friends and ask them to make a sketch of Cathy and Heathcliff... there's enough description of them throughout the book, after all. Thanks for the suggestion. =D
Cookie
You're welcome...:) After all you'll have to base your costumes on something?:) Use that as a reference :)
Haruka
I'm using the descriptions from the book to create Cathy and Heathcliff, which means that I'm largely free from using reference pictures for them. ... Which is good, considering that nobody in my circle of friends is willing to draw me a reference picture for them. I don't really blame them, though.
