Sportsmania Posted March 17, 2007 Share Posted March 17, 2007 We are very pleased to announce that 1966 World Cup Winner, and scorer of the hat-trick in the final, Sir Geoff Hurst MBE, will be joining us for Sportsmania! Geoff Hurst’s place in history was secured when he scored the only hat-trick ever in a World Cup Final, and gave England the victory and the 1966 World Cup! The description of his last goal is immortalised by BBC commentator Ken Wolstenholme when he said ‘And here comes Hurst, he’s got . . . . . some people are on the pitch, they think it’s all over (Hurst shoots and scores) It is now!!!!!!†We are delighted, and honoured that Sir Geoff Hurst can be with us for Sportsmania!
